February 20Feb 20 I have asked this before but didn't get many replies. I have a 49" Ultrawide and am currently using 2024 with the Fenix. For those using a similar display as me, what are you setting your cockpit view settings to find a realistic "feel" of sitting in the captains seat? I feel like it is either too far back and hard to read instruments, or too far forward where you don't have good depth, particularly when landing. I've asked this before but never really got an answer so I figured I'd throw it out there again. Are there any suggestions out there? Are there any mods out there for something like this? Thanks! February 21Feb 21 I have a 49” and I use a TrackIR with a wireless Track clip pro. Once you try it, there is no going back. It feels very natural. Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com

I tried trackIR before and felt it was too jittery. I have some Skalarki hardware (fcu and mcdu) and didn’t like how when I would look at the hardware even the smallest head movements would cause the sight line to move. Maybe I was using it wrong. Basically I want a viewpoint for landing that would help my sight lines give more depth perception Intel Core i7 12700K (5.0GHz Max Boost Clock) 12-Core CPU 32GB G.Skill Performance DDR4 SDRAM 3600MHz Graphics Processor:12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, GDDR6x System 2TB Western Digital, NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive
February 21Feb 21 I also have a 49" ultrawide and I find the default views alright on the Fenix. On landings and takeoffs and manual flight I usually use the default landing view and pop out the instruments on a smaller screen I have below my main monitor, and I have both a Streamdeck XL and + for most functions so I don't have to look around and mouse click on stuff in the cockpit. -Henrik Ryzen 7 7800X3D - RTX 5090 - 64gb DDR5 - Moza AB9 with MH16 Flightstick, MTQ Throttle, Thrustmaster Pendular rudder.

How do you set that up? That sounds like exactly what I want to accomplish Intel Core i7 12700K (5.0GHz Max Boost Clock) 12-Core CPU 32GB G.Skill Performance DDR4 SDRAM 3600MHz Graphics Processor:12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, GDDR6x System 2TB Western Digital, NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive
February 21Feb 21 I use MSFS Popout manager to pop out and adjust the screens, and Lorby's axis and ohs with the stream deck plugin on their site and stream deck profiles I've found on flightsim.to. It's a bit of work to set everything up the way you want it, but it is so much better to fly with it, IMO. I use the Stream deck plus mainly for autopilot, EFIS and radios and the XL for everything else. -Henrik Ryzen 7 7800X3D - RTX 5090 - 64gb DDR5 - Moza AB9 with MH16 Flightstick, MTQ Throttle, Thrustmaster Pendular rudder.

Henrik, could/would you post a screenshot of your display with the Fenix cockpit view? I have a 34" curved screen and when it comes time to replace it might look at 49" ultrawide. I'm using a 3440x1440 and I find it's perfect for image quality, so curious how much more burden would come from a 49", or what percentage increase in pixel count happens with 49" versus 34". My GPU gives me wiggle room, but I do use that to increase render scaling to 140 and it shows--very sharp. The primary reason I would go 49" is to get away from needing my second screen, which adds some issues w/ frame generation. I have this exact setup as well. What I do is forward two or three times, Then up (Shift E I think) once or twice, then zoom (middle mouse) till i see what I think the captain would see (based on pics and from my own memory of being in jet cockpits) AND things are legible. For TrackIR, there is a profile that's been out for awhile called "Seth Flight". Should stop jitters. If not try "Smooth". "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
February 22Feb 22 I use SHIFT + W/A/S/D and Q/Z (or is it E) to adjust eye position and height until I'm comfortable before each flight. Then unfreeze TIR, Centre it, and off you go I run the Samsung G9 49" with TrackIR. It's incredible. Over 20 years old now.
