April 15Apr 15 Author So I just came back to this topic and wow! I have been reading through all the comments. Now that we have managed to cover the parenting topic in good detail 😂, does anybody have any comments on what United are imposing? I wonder if other airlines will actually follow suit and apply similar measures to ameliorate those annoying disturbances in the tubeliners we fly in these days. I think one important aspect here to consider is, when those disturbances do occur in the cabin, its not like you can go someplace else until the landing gear has made contact with mother earth once more.😊 SpoilerSystem specs: MFG Crosswind pedals| ACE B747 yoke |Honeycomb Bravo throttleNow built: P3Dv5.3HF2: Intel i5-12600K @4.8Ghz | MSI Z690-A PRO | Asus Dual RTX 4070 Super OC 12Gb| 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200Mhz |Samsung 980Evo Pro PCIe 500Gb | WD Black SN850 PCIe 2Tb | WD SA510 4Tb |beQuiet 802 Tower Case|Corsair RM850 PSU | Acer Predator X34P 3440x1440pMark AldridgeMSFS2024 SU5 & P3D v5.3 HF2

AFAIK, all the airlines can deny boarding, kick you off and/or ban you more or less at their discretion, which is appropriate. Those that don’t publicly acknowledge this rule will undoubtedly be watching the reaction of their customers. I’m sure they’ll find a great deal of support for it. As a side note, the first time I ran into this was on Metro North almost 2 decades ago(!). Some stupid lawyer loudly yakkin on her blackberry(!) almost the entire time. Woulda loved to be able to shut her down. TBH, probably worse these days… On another ‘nother note, would love it if we could get all the oblivious ones to stop voice calls on their “smart” phone on speaker. Bad enough to listen to one side of a stupid convo…😂 Edited April 15Apr 15 by UrgentSiesta

Bad enough to listen to one side of a stupid convo…😂 Yep! Totally agree with ya. Speaker phone function on smartphones should be deactivated when you are in a confined space with other people. You might as well be speaking through a megaphone (loudhailer)! Not to mention and I am surprised about this, its typically business people that seem to be one of the worst offenders as they disclose their upcoming business deals in public..... i.e. in planes, hotel lounges and airport waiting areas. And one more example, sitting in a minibus my wife and I were on recently as part of a recent vacation, there was a retired couple sitting 3 rows behind us having an active conversation via videophone and having a "sing-a-long" as it was someone's birthday. The conversation and "remote party" for all to hear and some to see, lasted for about 20mins to the annoyance of most people on the bus who were i can imagine very much unwilling participants. Only two words came to mind .... "SHUT UP!" 😡. Some people seem to be completely oblivious to their surroundings!!
