April 12Apr 12 Hello friends, Just sharing a few early tests for KOAR, another fun coastal airport in California, formerly the airfield of Fort Ord. It is now a GA field with significant facilities for Joby Aviation. This airport is fun because it is just a few minutes' flight from KSNS, KMRY, and KWVI, all of which are well covered by other developers. There will be a lot more to do on this one, so these are just some early tests. MSFS doesn't have Monterey cypress trees common to the area, so I made a batch. If they look too strange please let me know.
April 14Apr 14 Author A lot of progress made. Fencing, utilities, lots more trees, airfield clutter, new hangar models, and distinctive local streetlights added. Need to test in MSFS24 next. I'm having to use TAA at the moment, the buildings look better in DLSS.

April 15Apr 15 Sent this thread to my brother in law and he said he thought you’d nailed it. He was an exec there before having to leave due to health issue in the last year. He loved it there. Awesome, thank you for the feedback. I don't know anyone at JA, but an old friend lives in Santa Cruz and went down to take a few reference pics for me. It's a very interesting little airport for sure!

April 18Apr 18 Author Happy to announce KOAR has been released. This v1.0 includes a rework of the taxiways because the MSFS ortho was out of date. April 22Apr 22 Author I added a small VFR enhancement to the Monterey area and also updated the KOAR scenery with an improved model for one hangar users said wasn't looking good. It is unfortunate actual PG has not been added to this region in any of the WUs, so for now this is a stopgap.
