Work around for Nvidia app filters

Featured Replies

Hi Everybody,

Are there any work arounds for Nvidia App Filters? All I see are two filters, if I go back to older drivers they work for about ten minutes and then 2024 crashes. Would really like to get those filters back, they made 2024 look amazing!

Thanks

I think they go away if you're using NV DLSS FG.  Try disabling that and see...

'm in the same situation as you. I tried several options without success. The only things that work for me after so many retries are RTX Dynamic Vibrance and RTX HDR.
I will list my attempts:
566.36, still no joy
HDR10 on/off in MSFS 2024
In NVIDIA app settings, "Allow experimental features" to see if it enables the filters.
The more I searched, the more I concluded that we were caught up in programming deficiencies due to ASOBO's faulty game's new engine and NVIDIA drivers.
Still waiting for a positive solution.
Sorry.

I'll give that a try, thanks.

UPDATE: Nope, same issue, just the same two filters.

Have you tried GFE instead of the App?  I had access to filters there not long ago.

Some smart and helpful (and no doubt very handsome to boot) guy on the official forums explained how to stop wasting time with the Nvidia filters nonsense and instead use ReShade to get the same effects, might be worth checking out and trying:

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/until-nvidia-filters-work-again-a-temporary-solution-using-reshade/672513/19

Since I use Reshade with XP12 for my night lighting via Vulkan setup, reshade gets mixed up if I try to use it for 2024 with dirextX.

But it installs into each specific game folder; how could one have any effect on another? I've used it with multiple installed games at the same time with no conflict.

Beats me, all I know is my night lighting in XP12 gets messed up if I install into MS2024 as well as XP12.

I used GFE filters to address one strange issue:  why the heck is it that in order to have the external view be just right with re to contrast/brightness/gamma, 9x out of 10 the internal VC is too dark, in general.  Some planes are far better than others in this regard but for me it's generally the case and a couple of GFE filters helped greatly with this--but they don't work with DLSS FG.

Hey Everybody,

Looks like I have it up, now to see if I can set them and cruise around without crashing. The menu has been up for over five minutes without closing or crashing MS2024.

The filters work fine with DLSS Super Resolution / Quality / Nvidia DLSS / X2 on the multiplier.

Nice to see you've gotten Nvidia filters to work, but how did you do it? Did you update to the newest driver and filters have been fixed, or stumble on something else?
