I use 135 degrees back for pattern work, but adjust as necessary. Assign that to my hat (back) Once I got the hang of it, it is super quick. You can type numbers into the view to move them too. I do wish the left/right and back would be default views, but I can set them up in no time. The trick is being consistent for every plane. Then I get up in the air and set my autopilot for cruise. I then check out the external views and add any I might want. I like setting up stuff as if there's a gopro camera on the plane. A lot of the default external views work well. There's a way to edit how sensitive the view panning is too. Some are far too sensitive. As for overall key binds, I have a toggle internal external view (just like the default camera). You can assign buttons for next/previous if you like. I mostly just pop up the interface to go through the external views. My hat already controls the internal views as always. The big challenge is avoiding key bind conflicts. If any assignment acts strangely, check for a duplicate assignment. When you assign something in Chaseplane, go into the default controls and search for that input and make sure there's nothing that conflicts. The program does a pretty good job clearing these out, but a few might still be there. There's a lot more depth to it, but this is all I really need to do. I finally got it to where using the hat switch works perfectly. I even reduced the effects and now I'm ready to add fsrealistic sounds. I did botch the bindings to pan with my mouse. Right now I'm unable to rebind. When I click the right button, I get nothing when trying to bind. MSFS

Open preferences, then scroll down to Control Profile, select the turtle button (perfect for smooth rotation.) Set the Speed to 175.0. You can raise it or lower it as you please. You will need to switch back to rocket speed if you want to add cams because moving is a lot slower. The one thing I do not like is that I have to set the turtle every time I load them sim. Jose MSFS

May 18May 18 I decided to finally give Chaseplane a try. I only bought it because it was a requirement for FSRealistic +. I watched several videos. So in the end, and after a few days, are you happy Jose?In my case I confess that I use maybe 20% of the functionalities of Chase Plane and I'm very happy with those 20%. Not to me because I don't use the features for video content producers or the effects. FSRealistic + takes over the effects. It was a PITA to setup and I don't like that I have to wait for it to load, then I need to load ChasePlane to select the turtle every time I load a flight. Last thing I do not like is that I have my BATC in a second monitor and when I make a selection on the second screen, you can NOT control the panning unless you click back on the main screen.I do like the flyby cam and the cinematics feature. Very cool! Edited May 18May 18 by CFIJose MSFS
May 18May 18 Sure I understand Jose. 22-25 $ would be probably more appropriate. May 20May 20 It's not worth $30. Not to me because I don't use the features for video content producers or the effects....I do like the flyby cam and the cinematics feature. Very cool! This was my reaction when I installed CP into 2020, and I've never installed CP into 2024 as to be honest all I really needed was indeed the flyby and cinematics features and it's just too much hassle for that to consider install my free copy into 2024. I'm very happy w/the ease of setup in the default camera system and I'm hoping someone who wants to make some serious money for probably not too much work now that a camera API is available, will come up with just that: a simple Flyby, Tower View and Cinematics addon. My sense is that is far and away what MOST owner flyers of MSFS would be delighted to have, and at a modest cost of maybe $10 to $15. I'll bet lots of copies would sell quickly once word got out. Seems like a dream project for a developer--HINT HINT! I love the head anticipation in FSRealistic Plus, but the default effects in ChasePlane are very cool too. MSFS
May 21May 21 Did you see this Noel? Thanks for that...but I wouldn't be interested in what it does from what I saw in the video shared. I have a very scripted way I fly and don't see any purpose for something like that.A free upgrade is worth a try. You will be able to create a lot more views and the effects add a lot of realism to each aircraftI'm fully familiar with what it does as I used it in 2020, but I really don't care for what it does I have no need to use any more views than the 10 custom views the default allows, along w/ the other built-in 10 the developers configure. All I really want is a simple hotkey trigger fly-by, that's really the main wish. Tower view would be nice as well but less used. I still believe it's quite possible someone will take that little project on once they realize how much demand there would be for it. I really don't want to put CP into the mix just for Fly-by it's not worth the hassle of yet one more piece of software to maintain and deal with if n when issues arise I have enough of that with GSX, SLC & BATC. IOW, the time-cost:benefit isn't there for me.
