Nvidia DLSS 310.7 Released

Now that’s interesting. How much do you save by using K?

Just a litle but enough to tip me over the edge in New York and London with addons. Hard to be exact as it changes in each scenario, but2 or 3% would be ballpark ish. Not something you need to worry about with a 5090 though.

I'm no expert on this, but you can either

1) download DLSS Swapper
or
2) wait for nvidia to release a driver that updates DLSS to 310.7 (good luck waiting for that)

DLLS Swapper is the easiest way but you can google dlss 3.10.7, download the dlss and dlssg files and stick them in the content folder of msfs.

Simislandpilot does explain that if you don't use the right settings in the nvidia app, that it will over-ride and revert to dlss 3.10.6 though. (I wouldn't worry too much as I've noticed no difference using either).

Every time i´m updating DLSS i only download the last version in DLSSswapper and then select it into the swapper to 310.7,It is really required to copy those files into the content foler into the sim also???.

Not sure, but I use dlss swapper to do it anyway. At least then I know that I have them if the Nvidia app does not apply them. I also check by ticking the box in dlss swapper to display on screen which version I am running (though you can do that in the registry if you are familiar with that).

you'd be surprised! i've hit the VRAM limit a couple of times in the last month...absolutely maddening. Had to drop down to "DLSS Quality" with preset M...but if DLSS DLAA works with preset K better, I'll try that.

I tried TAA a few times, but found that temperatures in my GPU core got higher than when using DLSS, I am still using NVidia 595.71 and DLSS 310.1, that is giving me the best results. And I won't change that for the time being :)

Since you have a 3000-series card, it's commonly known that driver 566.36 and DLSS 310.4 are the most stable. Anything beyond that and things become less stable. I tried many combinations and always found myself reverting back to 566.36 and DLSS 310.4 with zero issues. Just sharing what I know.

Thanks a lot. I will give that combination a try once we've got out of this EU heatwave.

Fully agree I use DLAA and preset K is better for me (i've tried L & M). One of the problems with preset M is that it uses a bit more VRAM and with only 16 gb on my 5080 I am marginal in a few places (admittedly using very high settings and VRAM hungry addons (but once you have seen the eye candy, you can't unsee it). I also find any frame generation doesn't seem to play well with DLSS (for me anyway- and I need the extra FPS to give me smooth head tracking).

As for the dlss and dlssg files, I've not noticed any difference between 3.10.7 and 3.10.6 so far though I'm sure Islandsimpilot will do an analysis of frametimes, 1% and 0.1% lows, etc. So I will wait to see if he finds anything - I have watched his initial video above.

so to confirm Cian you use K for the preset and quality for the DLSS ?

don't believe that M is best, it all depends what you are using DLAA, quality or performance. For me I still like DLAA best and use K, cause L and M are for Performance, quality and balance.

  1. Preset K: The default baseline and first-generation transformer model. It is optimized for DLAA, Balanced, and Quality upscaling modes, offering the best balance of sharpness and performance without demanding heavy processing.

  2. Preset L: A more advanced AI model meant specifically for Ultra Performance scaling. It provides higher detail reconstruction in motion, reducing ghosting or smearing in high-action sequences.

  3. Preset M: Dynamically mapped for Performance mode upscaling. It is built to compensate for the lower native resolution input by aggressively reconstructing missing visual data using the AI network.

thanks for this
