Keep reloading the sim until your existing settings are there on launch. The apparent "great reset" is your cloud load not working (probably not fixed yet from the outage).

In my case, I also do all of my controller settings outside of MSFS (SPAD.neXt in my case), so I never need to worry about losing them in-sim.

I fired things up after everything had stabilized, and all settings are 100% OK here.

Will have to look at some sort of Control Settings back up - currently rebuilding settings having found, among other things, that msfs2024 does not recognize my Saitek Throttle Unit & wants to use Joystick settings when I select the Throttle unit to reprogram what has been lost.

The relatively quick and easy way to back up controls is to export them. The only downside is you have to export each profile and device separately. For each profile under each device, click the "gear" icon and export. It will allow you to save off an xml file you can import if/when settings get lost.
