I don't mind waiting for the Fenix Neo, but was wondering if I have to buy the Fenix base pack (A320) for it to work, or will it be a whole new separate airplane? I hope for the latter so I don't have to invest in both, have they mentioned anything about that?

The NEOs will be standalone, but owning both the CEO and NEO will also get you a modernised CEO with the NEO’s updated systems and new software standards etc.

I don't own any of the Fenix busses yet, and I'm only interested in the Neo, so I'm glad it will be a standalone. I already have "lots" of other busses ie the Inibuilds and the Fbw's, but I think it's about time to have a "study level" so looking forward to getting the Neo.

Not for nothing and I don't know your constraints but honestly the CEO is worth it now. I enjoy the Fenix that much that I feel you're doing yourself a disservice by waiting for the NEOs. I feel that strongly about it.

Lately it's been very quiet about the Fenix NEOs... I wonder when to realistically expect them to drop.

Honestly, I thought the FBW and the Ini Airbus was good enough until I purchased the Fenix. It's on a totally separate level that most other addons don't come close to. Who knows how much longer the NEO's will be and if you've got a spare 50 bucks or so, it is completely worth it.

That's a good question. They must have had some huge roadblocks with the VNAV update, as this is going to be first and from what I've heard it's actually the only thing preventing the NEOs entering beta.
