How do I get the VDGS system to work at IniBuilds EGLL London Heathrow in MSFS 2024? In fact, how do I also get it working at some other airports? It seems that I have active VDGS at a handful of my payware airports, but those same boards are dark and empty at others. What is the difference?

To get your VDGS working and up to date, it depends on whether the airport uses the NOOL Aerosystems driver or the Aerosoft system. Here is how you can update them and add new airports for both:

1. NOOL Aerosystems VDGS

Nool works via a central module in your Community folder that needs to scan your scenery.

• To Update: Download the latest installer from the official Nool website and let it overwrite the files in your Community folder.

• To Add Airports: Every time you install a new airport that supports Nool, you need to register it. Go to your Community folder, navigate to ...\Community\nool-module-vdgs\, and run the rescan-devices.bat file. A command prompt will open, scan your simulator, and automatically link the VDGS to the new airport gates.

2. Aerosoft VDGS

Aerosoft uses its own dedicated system, which is fully automated through their central software.

• To Update & Add Airports: Open the Aerosoft One desktop application. When you install a scenery through the app, it automatically configures the VDGS for you.

• Troubleshooting: If the screens remain blank at an Aerosoft airport, go to Library -> Dependencies inside Aerosoft One. Make sure the Aerosoft VDGS Driver is fully updated and active there.

Note: If you are using GSX Pro as well, make sure GSX isn't conflicting with the airport's built-in Nool/Aerosoft screens by disabling the GSX airport services for that specific ICAO code in the FSDT Installer.

The first step is to determine which VGDS is being used Christopher. There are at least 3. The 2 above plus GSX' own version. The Nool and Aerosoft versions both depend on additional plugins for them to work.

The GSX version doesn't need any additional plugin program but does need to be disabled if any of the other 2 are being used. Conflicts between them can arise if not disabled and this can render the VGDS displays non-operational at that specific airport, which i recently experienced.

The aerosoft version IMHO is the most cumbersome to get set up and running as it requires the driver and some configuration and key binds to get it all working.

Nool works at supported airports.

Therefore the GSX one is the best, most reliable solution as it can be applied to any scenery once the actual objects have been set up in the parking editor.

I do not use GSX, so we can rule that one out. VDGS works at some of my payware airports, so there must be one system that works automatically after the airports are installed, because I have never done anything to get this to work. I will have to follow Rob's advice, and see what happens.

To use the GSX VGDS is it necessary to uninstall Aerosoft VGDS?

Nool is automatic but only for airports that support it - that's what makes GSX such a winner - works at all airports - I have found very few if any addon airports from any vendor where GSX VDGS doesn't work. Aerosoft VDGS is VERY cumbersome so I never us it. You have to know what stand you're going to park at ahead of time so you can configure that stand using Aerosoft's external VDGS app...it's really a pain.

The cost of GSX is almost worth it just for ease of use of VDGS.

I do not see a Nool VDGS folder in my Community folder....

I have now installed Nool VDGS (which I thought was already installed), and run the batch file to identify which airports are supported. However, IniBuilds EGLL London Heathrow is not one of them. I checked on the internet, and it seems that IniBuilds no longer offer Nool VDGS support for this airport. I would need to install GSX, which I have no intention of doing.

Rather disappointing ☹️
