December 7, 200223 yr I changed the priority mode from normal to above normal, and the difference is such that I don't understand what the controller is saying now. (way to fast)Priority modes can only be changed in the OS (I think) or the way the application starts (there's flags for starting an application in a diiferent priority mode.I think experts in this subject can comment on how to address the priority change better. For me the problem is solved.
December 7, 200223 yr Commercial Member i didn't want to suggest that, but since you tried it, how does that affect the fs200x application? JD Read my blog
December 7, 200223 yr Author at least the frame rates are still the same. But I've a high end system. And, considering that what RC3 actually does is not very CPU dependent, changing the priority for the process is more like giving it a little 'room' to breathe, not a CPU hog.
December 7, 200223 yr An RC3 priority change to above normal in Task Manager made a noticeable difference for me with no apparent impact on FS2002.
December 7, 200223 yr Changed mine from "normal" to "high". RC3 ran perfectly with all video options maxxed out and ATC set to 100%. Very much just like Scott's tape. FPS ran 40's to 50 throughout. Looks like there is no way to save this setting however that I am aware of and you must do this every time you run the program. Bob, Rogers, Arkansas
December 7, 200223 yr Commercial Member start path /abovenormal where path is the path to rcv3.exefor examplestart c:flightrcv3rcv3.exe /abovenormal JD Read my blog
December 7, 200223 yr I assume the start path mentioned is the one in the RCV3 properties line. I think it actually requires a doublequote as in: start c:flightrcv3rcv3.exe" /abovenormal Anyway I did that and did not notice any change... darn!GEMatKMGY
December 7, 200223 yr Works beautifully for me when set to high.....thanks for thie insight.....I guess this is a temp fix until JD figues out how to make it permanentKroswyndhttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...a9241b6b125.jpg
December 7, 200223 yr Fantastic-amazing-it sounds perfect now. You deserve the employee of the week award! :-) Even the real (prior) slow voices sound normal.I can't thank you enough! The realtime setting seems to work even better?!http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/Geofdog2.gif Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
December 7, 200223 yr when I set the shortcut to what you describe, RC starts when I select it. However, when I review the priority, it still states that it is normal. Does it require a reboot? exactly (syntax wise) how are you getting it to run from a short cut to 'abovenormal"?thanks CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
December 7, 200223 yr I can't get the shortcut to work either.I find "realtime" instead of "high" gives me perfect diction-high still isn't enough on my setup.http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/Geofdog2.gif Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
