  1. Outstanding effort on your part and Andre's. Thanks for the time you both invested in this categorization :-wave
  2. Thanks, Tom. It is always good to drop in on our home grounds. I've been visiting some recently, and as I said earlier, I'm flying now FU3 more than FS2004!All the best.
  3. Fantastic shots! My kind of weather :)
  4. I just sent you an email, Chris. Thanks.
  5. Hope you like them!http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=185891&page=
  6. Again, I'm fascinated by the rain and snow in FU3. The snow is so believable. And when one flies in intense rain, the effects and sound and chaos it creates in the cockpit really makes you feel wet :-lolAs to the question, it is related to night city lights and countryside lights (I've searched the forum to no success): even with max AA and AF and max resolution, the night lights flicker. I remember with the Voodoo 5, they were much more fixed and focused, especially the countryside lights. Anyone has a suggestion? My graphics card is ATI X800Pro. Thanks...
  7. Thanks, guys. The last few days, I've been flying FU3 only. I love to play and wreak havoc with the weather :)Time now to look for what the FU3 talented designers have been up to of late. I read that trees have been released! All the best, and thanks again for the kind words :wave.
  8. I want to say hello to my home spot :-wave.Today evening, I felt like making a short hop in FU3 San Francisco, with of course a nasty weather. Took off from a lonely strip and headed about north at 1900ft in the Mooney. The sound of rain in FU3, its splashes and streaks on the windshield and the side windows, the heaviness of the clouds, I could go on :)... It is really exhilarating! The feeling of flying in such weather is very satisfying; still can't experience it wholly in FS2004 ;-).I guess after today's flight, I'm going to spend more time again in it.All the best.
  9. Hi, Holger. Good to have you with us :-wave
  10. Just rotate it and move it to the place you want. Or you could do it in the Front viewport, then it would be made in the 'upward' direction that you want.Another way would be to create a Grid object in any place and any orientation you want; if you make it active, then whatever shapes you draw will be on it.Hope this helps. And by the way, your pump looks pretty good.
  11. I would attach it to the tower like Bob said, or I would make sure that the pivot point of the glass is centered properly; you can do that under Hierarchy.
  12. So very sorry to hear about your loss, Tom. Take care.
  13. I have both My Traffic2004 and UT2004. Both are excellent but I saw myself tipping toward UT2004 in the end and run this one now. You won't be sorry with either one. Since I am too much into bush flying and into GA some, I have found GA Traffic an outstanding product, and freeware at that.
  14. I have also decided to purchase FSWater. Not only it is a Flight1 product, but it is also from a designer who gave us an outstanding work some time back. Overall I like it, as much as I liked the freeware competing products in the library, which are very much appreciated. So thank you, Peter, and to Tom of Flight1, I just want to say cheers to the way that Flight1 does business: your attitude and trust in the customer is quite refreshing!
  15. Holger, may I say that the second screenshot is astounding! I assume this is one of your remakes, mesh and shores?
  16. Sorry to hear about this, John, and wish you a speedy recovery. All the best.
  17. You're absolutely right, Michael. This is a gem of a program and a wonderful gift from Marcus. I'm only surprised that it took you so long to try it ;) Thank you, Marcus. Great contribution!!
  18. Hi, Dave. Try putting the Trees_0.bgl in ...FS9sceneryworldscenery directory. If I am not mistaken, this is where it should go.
  19. Jimmy, thanks for sharing your experimented results with us. I'm definitely going to use your guide while working with GA Traffic. And of course, BIG thanks to Marcus for this gem of a freeware.
  20. A priority for me, a bush flying addict :), would be the landscape textures, the coastlines and a better mesh.
  21. Absolutely agree. It is quite refreshing to see freeware packages that not only compete but even exceed in quality some of the payware software. With ISD MilanoVFR and Linate, and Francesco Mandelli Landpack and Autogenius, my favorite area for flightsimming has become northern Italy. Thank you folks for a tremendous contribution.
  22. Hello, Richard. That is a favorite topic for me :)Without any addons (freeware or payware), I fly a lot out of Kake in SE Alaska. The airfield is beautiful in its default COF state. Lots of nice scenery around. If you want to add freeware bush flying addons, then you have a good collection from such authors/groups: Michael Carr, Frank Betts, BFU (Bush Flying Unlimited) and others, sceneries that you can find at avsim. For payware, none is better than the Georender series.
  23. A good place to start is to reset all display options in FS2004 to Default. Reduce also AI Traffic to 45% or thereabouts. Check how your flying gets with Microsoft defaults, and move things up gradually till you hit a balance. I keep the graphics card AA on 2x and AF on 4x-8x. Try to keep the resolution between 1152x864 and 1600x1200; even with a P4 3.06GHz and an ATI 9800 pro, i sometimes find myself having to drop the resolution down to 1152x864 to fly smoothly. One curious thing I noticed in COF display options, is on the first tab (Scenery tab): even if you choose the max setting for the Global Scenery Quality (Ultra High), MS has opted for the autogen slider to remain at its normal level, which tells a lot about the impact of autogen. I myself take it up to max though.Another thing is to ensure you fly with no background applications; either you use Ken Salter's FSAutostart or use msconfig(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;331796)Hope the above helps a bit.
  24. With all due respect to the payware weather software (I own both FSMeteo and AS2004), I've now come around to using only COF default weather. I mostly use the default dynamic real weather, but when, as is sometimes the case, I notice slowdowns due to the real-time online updates, I simply switch to the static real weather, which makes flying even smoother. So for me, the default is good enough.
  25. Hi, Mike. The way I do it is run the machine lean to the minimum, by going into msconfig, using Selective Startup, disabling System.ini, Win.ini, Startup items, plus disabling non-Microsoft services under the Services tab of msconfig (this tip was kindly offered in this forum a few days back by a gentleman whose name I forgot; Thanks!).I then restart and fly. No viruses so far, plus I know that FS2004 is running all by itself (or so it seems :))
