  3. John,The original author never stated whether the outside visuals were of any importance or not.He mentioned FDE, and Panels, which also BTW, are important to me as well. I prefer flying from the inside rather than from the outside, and while outside visuals ar enice, there are far more important features that I look for, such as those that the original author mentioned. And the FDE is very well done, IMHO, as is the panel.me ... ....
  4. Have you tried the RealAir Simulations FREEWARE 172, for MSFS2004 available here?I like the flight dynamics and the Air File is top notch, IMHO, but what do I know, I just fly them as a certificated pilot. :-)It's here in the Library:Download Here:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...hor=&CatID=Rootme ... ....
  5. So just to clarify,Do you mean to say that they removed your name from the file, and will leave the file there for people to continue to download, or did they completely remove the file and banish the uploader?Talk about rewarding someone who does a wrong.I certainly hope that is not the case, Integrity and all that worthless mumbo jumbo, IMHO.Oh well... No surprises there if they leave it up, I'm sure it was nothing more than an innocent mistake. ;-)

  7. Good Advice, and well worth taking for anyone using Shoot.BTW - How many commands are you up to. I have almost 300 Now in one profile, and about 230 Commands in the one I currently use.Regards,Joe
  8. Thanks for the heads up, just grabbed it.
  9. yes it is....Shoot can be found here:http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/And you need the MS SPeech SDK here:http://download.microsoft.com/download/spe...SpeechSDK51.exeAnd the .net framework here:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en
  10. Jimmie said:"I'm using the built-in mic of my Phillips webcam. Quality is OK but it doesn't cancel noise. Not sure I would want to spend another $50 on a microphone if that is the problem."How about $13.13 instead. Or as low as $4.96 at pcconnection.I've run quite a few informal tests using voice recognition on webcam mic's, desktop mic's, and headset mic's with voice recognition. I actually use it quite a bit and have been flying with it successfully for over a year now.You have to remember that IMHO, it is not good enough to have just a quiet room.Remember, you may have two fans running as well, CPU and vid card, as wlel as other noise your own ears cannot pick up. Keyboard keys also make noise.I would also recommend a headset, as you can buy pretty good ones for very cheap prices, and buy one that has Noise Cancelling and is made or certified for speech recognition.I use this one currently and it works pretty good for me, but YMMV.http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?sku=4758821Or the one for $13.13http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?sku=5417403Unfortunately, between your voice and the webcam microphone, there may be quite a bit of interference. To sample this, run the audio tests in your control panel, and read the papaya sentence several times with your head at different distances from the mic.And anyone else contemplating speech recognition, try out the Free ones and your setup before buying anything. If you don't want to put in the time to train the engine properly, then it may not be for you.If you do want to put in a bit of time, try Shoot, or Flightassistant, which are both free.I can't help you out specifically with the product you bought, but I do know quite a bit about speech recognition in general, and how to optimize a setup, as well as profiles for shoot.regards,me
  11. And people can find Flight Assistant here:http://www.linder-network.de/thelindercomp...tassistant.html
  12. Go Back and read my thread again.I don't say all developers, and I complement some even though I don't do it specifically by name, some of them know I respect their work. But you like some others here, ignore any of of those comments I make preferring to lump me in as not liking any payware and that is simoply not true.I also listed a paypoint I would feel comfortable with. Others can list theirs, but you choose to ignore what I listed as my own. Why, because I choose to offer an opinion and because I use my own opinion to question where my money goes.I've bought payware, and I will most likely do so in the future, but face it there are some developers out there that I would not give any amount of money to.And I wonder if you have some developers that you would not give money to.And I use MSFS to sharpen my real world pilot skills as well. It's pretty good on procedures, but still does not match real world flying. In some areas it is oretty good, and in some not so good.I just state my reasons, and I will continue to do so.And when I see supporters out there CLAIMING they know things about these developers without offering any proof, I can offer my alternate opinion, since they are the ones making the claim. The way some here expect us to think no payware developers are making money off of us is simply a charade, IMHO.
  13. You mean like closing it and putting it on Xbox. What we really need is another Major developer with a product to compete.I remember immersing myself in ProPilot99 while taking my training to get my private. Then Fly! II, and then MSFS2002 Pro, and now MSFSCOF.Some owned the Flight Unlimited Series, and still others xplane. Not sure how xplane is doing as I have not owned it, but if they did stop making the MSFS series, someone else would hopefully come along, create a new engine, and run with it.It is a proven Market, and except for their pricing mishap with MSFS2002 Standard and Pro, I believe it was due to competition that we have come so far in such a short amount of time.Regards,Joe
  14. Errrrr....Ummmm....I've got a few of those, but I paid a guy to roll back the Hobbs, maybe he dialed it in the wrong direction.BTW - I lost a some chewing gum in there, let me know if you find it.The Commander is still one of my favorite aircraft to fly in MSFS.Regards,Joe
  15. >Ignore the troll. He has an agenda against all commercial>enterprise and won't stop at anything to achieve it.ALL Huh....Check your mail there jeroen
  16. Yes, Good for me. :-)So you go on comparing real world sim prices with MSFS.That is a good one. :-)Simply because a real world simulator charges more doesn't justify high costs in my book.So we've gone from talking about payware developers to comparing to approved FAA Devices and software when it comes to cost. Please spare me the details. I'll just have to chuckle and disagree. As for what a 5 member team makes or does not make. You must be an expert who has viewed all of their books huh. You can hypothetsize all you like about the poor, poor, payware developers, and all that time they put in, hours, etc....Same old stuff that was rehashed in the thread that was closed previously. Go read the responses there, as they are the same.BOTTOM LINE they get PAID TO DO SO. They made that choice, the same as consumers like me make a choice to comment on what I think are overpriced products or perceived values that are not there.Regards,Joe
  17. You said:"On a bit of a mission there eh Joe?"I like those supporting certain points of view I disagree with are simply offering my opinions.Do you ask the same question of those that trump out the same arguments of cost, benefit comparison everytime, or just certain points of view you may disagree with? Are you on a mission with your question?Nice of you to add something about the original question after your little comment to me.
  18. I guess my concerns are with a company claiming such a high a dollar value where one does not exist, IMHO.Maybe if this developer gave a $24.95 discount to anyone already owning the radar, then it would be a $24.95 value. But then they would still need to include their "So called Special Version" in order for it to be a value worth $24.95 IMHO.I just am not comfortable with those types of claims, and I don't respect any advertiser that makes such claims. And to me, IMHO, it is an integrity and ethical issue, and therefore this product would not meet my expectations.Another question is why a developer would feel the need to place a dollar value on a feature that can only be used on that aircraft.Did they feel a need to justify their high cost? That is the way I see it, anyway, and that is my opinion.Regards,Joe
  19. Hmmm..FS2002 came with two versions, professional and Standard, yes?Wasn't The professional version more expensive than the current version of MSFS2004 when it came out?And if so, with the technological advancements of MSFS2004, isn't that a Price cut for newer technology.Sorry, but I don't see the connection here. These developers also get Free SDK's, they also can obtain software that makes their designing easier than in the past too.Oh yeah, one more little caviat,Isn't it true that as technology advances and more people use that technology that the price actually goes down?Regards,Joe
  20. And isn't that the point.Something minor to you may be a major point to someone else. You can't possibly average out users expectations.Any company that releases patches, and they should, means that their product did not work as advertised in their Minimum Specs and advertising.Unless said company says that you must have a product X computer in this configuration, they are open to question, and expectations, or they should issue a refund without any grief. If a User meets those minimum requirements, how is it their system? See.Yet that is the same Lame excuse trumped out by payware supporters when someone has problems and states that yes, it may be the developer and not the user. In other words, you are contradicting your forst statement by saying yes, they have released patches. Maybe you should choose a different tactic or inquire about the authors problems before making such and outlandish statement. Just a thought. You can certainly reply with anything you want, but give the guy a little slack. ;-)Regards,Joe
  21. Hi,Let's just say I can have a very nice night out for about a 1/3 of what some of these places are TRYING to charge for an add-on.Some of these developers price it pretty fairly. Some, I feel are just out to make a buck, buyer beware, and PLEASE beware of perceived false claims of things like value given etc....It is getting outrageous. My Price Point is somewhere around $20 or so, depending on the product, and whether what I would consider to be a REPUTABLE Developer that has met my expectations and has integrity as well. When any payware Product costs MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL program, I think a Line has been crossed, and I won't pay it, period. You can buy the entire program for $29.95, and some are charging quite a bit more than that for one small add-on. That is very sad indeed, and I just won't participate in any pricing scheme that prices above the program. Now maybe, and I mean Maybe, if they guaranteed that a release so late in the cycle of MSFS2004 that they will upgrade to future versions, that Might, and I mean might be a justification for a higher price than the current price of the main program, MSFS2004.But I doubt any will do that.Me, I'll stick to Freeware, and some high quality, good value aircraft I have purchased from some developers.Regards,Joe
  22. ahhhh.....BUYER BEWARE......If you go to the News page, the discliamer is not listed there, but if you go to the 727 Features page, you are warned about this so-called value.http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/Previews/727...w_features.htmlWhere they state:"**NOTE: This radar is locked to the 727 product, can only be used with the 727. It will not function if installed in another aircraft or instrument panel."I just have a problem with thme claiming a $24.95 value included, when it is truly NOT, since for $24.95 at Reality XP, you can use it on many Aircraft, not just this one.Maybe they should add this disclaimer to their News Page, and I think them claiming it a s a$24.95 Value is a bit misleading, IMHO. The disclaimer also appears on their purchase page.Regards,Joe
  23. Can the Radar be used in Other aircraft.I see this developer is advertising it on this page:http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/news.htmWhere they talk about the Radar being $24.95 if purchased seperately, and being a perceived value an all.Their Page says:/Excerpt"DreamFleet Boeing 727: The first FS add-on aircraft to feature Reality XP color weather radar as standard equipment. The 727 comes equipped with a special version of Reality XP's WX500 radar, appearing as the Bendix unit installed in many real 727s. The cost of this radar if purchased separately would be $24.95, yet the entire 727 costs only $34.95 for the download version. Now, that's value!"/End Excerpt 1) So, Can the radar be plugged into other aircraft besides the 727?2) Is it the same radar as Reality XP's, since it says special version?I went to the Reality XP Page, and yes they make some excellant Products.Their Color Radar is priced at $24.95.http://www.reality-xp.com/products/WX5/index.htmSo if this developer is saying that is included, or does it only work in that aircraft and no others.I also am not keen on going to sites talling me I should disable my popup blockers.http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/Previews/727/preview_home.htmlThanks,Joe
