  1. jimmie,You said:"If you bought an aircraft from one of them and was not satisfied then yes, you're too picky Or, there actually *is* a problem with your setup."I have to disagree and take issue with that statement. You know, just because someone does not experience the same expectations or efficiency in operation of an add-on that you do, does not mean that it is a problem with their system, or they are too picky. That is the problem with statements like yours and others I have seen here. Since you don't have any problems, surely no one else could possibly have them, huh? That is the same attitude exhibited here when people were having seasonal and memory leaking problems in MSFS2004, and the MS Minions kept saying.. Oh it must be you, and oh, mine works just fine. Then MS releases a PATCH that guess what addresses those problems.Pleaseee......Maybe this person is having problems because of a payware product. You don't know that the cause is not the payware product, so how about giving him a little slack. And as for those developers above.Have they ever released a PATCH for any of their products? If so, guess what, kind of shoots your theory out the window, huh?Regards,Joe
  2. >>>>I am going to pass on this one..........@$34.95 I save my>plastic for the PIC 767. I already have CS727.>>Dreamfleet took to long to release this one if I remember>right they started development for this in the 2002 platform.>>Looks nice though......my Dad helped built almost everyone>flying today.Hi Randy,For a LOT LESS than that amount I can have a night out at a hockey game, and eat too. final Score Gulls 4, Aces 3.True Story, last night.San Diego Gulls Hockey game = $7.00, Included seat, and Skating after the game.Hot Dog, Coke, Doritos, and Oreos, plus bottle of water= $5.00.Parked for free off street parking nearby.Skated on the Ice with the players for free, and got Free Autographs and Pictures, and an Hour of skating. (Brought My Own Bauer Skates from my hockey days.) ($3.00 if you need to rent them.)Thus proving one can have a night out for less than an add-on.Total Cost $12.00, Plus I have memories and pictures forever. So much for the night out of entertainment costing more than an add-on analogy myth.... ;-)Oh, and I didn't include my kids cost in that, because ummmm, My kids can't fly an add-on at the same time as I do, now can they?BTW - Anyone in San Diego Area, go see a Gulls game, they are pretty good, and with the NHL being locked out by the owners, there is still good hockey to be seen. http://www.sandiegogulls.com/Regards,Joehttp://www.aboutpolitics.net/screenshots/1gull.jpg
  3. Mine used to do the same thing, and I multi-task all the time.Since installing the 61.77, I can alt-tab to my hearts content, no need to go to windowed mode. I think I got the 61.77 after the SP2 patch but I'm not sure, so I can't say for 100% certainty it was the driver vs. something in XP.Regards,Joe
  4. Hi Mike,I can appreciate it where you come from. I can remember dozens of threads where some supporters of Microsoft kept denying problems existed in the Sim just because they were not experiencing the same problems.Low and behold Microsoft issued a Patch, but of course, no mea culpas from all those who said people's systems were to blame instead of the product. The truth of the matter is this. each product works great on whatever computer it was tested on before release. While it is not very likely that payware developers will test on every system, some go to great lengths to test it on quite a few.But yes, almost all will blame it on your setup, system, etc.... Instead of trying to help you out, they will say reformat your drive install only MSFS in its default condition, install their product, and it will work, or then they will help you. It is a very common defense called pass the buck. Unfortunately it is inherent in almost all software, not just our hobby.Instead of buying Payware right off, maybe try some of the higher quality Freeware aircraft the Library at Avsim Holds. And there is much. And the quality on some of it is excellant and is better than some payware stuff, IMHO.But more specifically, let us know here in the forums what problems you are having, and let the community try and help you out. We would need to know system setup, what you ahve installed, slider settings, etc....Sometimes, the community can be a great resource. That is what we're here for.Regards,Joe
  5. What was the bug so that others are aware of it as well, please?
  6. It's in the forums: Click on support then forumshttp://www.fsd-international.com/dc/dcboar...g_id=5927&page=
  7. Check your private message area, please. I sent you a note.
  8. Did you install the MSFS2004 Patch that came out a couple months ago.
  9. He is running this which is causing his block:Computer Associates eTrust Secure content Manager for HTTPhttp://www.zdnet.com.au/reviews/software/i...161368-3,00.htm
  10. Oh Please. You said:"As far as the advertising, I have no control over what type of "tin" they push on my site (that's what you get for freebie sites). But I can see when you add up all the parts it could make one suspicious."Now are you saying that the link to the speech solutions company was put there by the host you use, and not by you?Not according to the code viewable by anyone choosing view source in their browser. It clearly shows the difference in code with the adserver of your host, and the stuff you coded. The link to the speech company is right above the forced "tin" being pushed on you by the free hostBTW - Your web page counter is also linked directly to the speech company terakeet as well.Sorry, but I have to disagree with your above statement. It is clear what I was referring to, and what the freehost is showing.Regards,Joe
  11. A good play by play with regards to Speech recognition within Windows XP is here for those new to this arena. It gives a very detailed look at how to set it up, how it works, and what you can get out of it.You have to understand that these programs run off of this engine.http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/s...eptember23.mspxRegards,Joe
  12. Please read my post above again.I never said YOU had a link at the bottom of your post, Ponyboy does. You are mistaken.
  13. Are you clicking from a work or office environment. It appears to be on your system. Since you are using a Filter Application, check there. As always, Download the file and scan, as with all files, before installing it.Also, I don't wonder at all, as the program is on your machine, and has nothing to do with the site, other than your settings Doug, IE, your computer is causing the block. I hope that clears up your wondering. ;-)Computer Associates eTrust Secure content Manager for HTTPhttp://www.zdnet.com.au/reviews/software/i...161368-3,00.htmRegards,Joe
  14. yeah, It's Ohio.... ;-)Just Kiddin. haven't seen that before, looks like something is missing.Did you install anything recently in terms of mesh, scenery or landclass? If so try removing it go back to the same area. Also try a slow aircraft and or decrease the complexity in the sliders. What are your system specs and slider settings? Regards,Joe
  15. Hi,Thanks for the heads up.The file you listed is also available at the following location without having to register, pay for faster downloads search features, etc...:ybcs_fs9.ziphttp://www.fs2000.org/last/news.asp?id=8271I also found a site that lists a whole bunch of scenery in list forms from around the world with links.http://vanslooten.org/fs2004.phpRegards,Joe
  16. Arrggggghhhhh.....I just saw a thread where they are making a Cessna 337.I drooled over that aircraft at Oshkosh over the years at Airventure.A company does conversions on those, and man they are one sweet aircraft. Useful Load, looks, twin props, front & rear. etc.... I can't remember the name of the company that did those things, but man, were they awesome looking.Looks like I may want to grab that one when it comes out. We'll see.Regards,Joe
  17. I've seen flight schools do just that, Don.I think you can do that, but I'm not sure. I mean it does have the instructor's station, so I know some are using that option.I would do this if I were you.Call around to some of the FBO's and informally survey them to see how they are using it in their settings, IE: hardware, yokes, pedals, instructor station, etc...Then as your instructors are flying around their students on Cross countries, have them query the FBO's they are flying to to see how they are using it.I'm no attorney, so the legalities are something I just cannot address, but there are many places using it for practice procedure purposes, and that is what I use mine for as well.Actually I've never read the actual license. :-) Kudos to you for even reading it.Hope this helps,Joe
  18. Thanks Ron,Thanks for responding. BTW, How much are they charging for the program. I visited the site, and downloaded the trial version, but have not installed it yet.The site does not say how much it costs. The robotic voices are just inherent within the Speech recognition Engine.I use it for dictation in Wordpad, the version that comes with WinXP, and then I paste it into my OpenOffice writer program. Open Ofice does not allow voice recognition as of yet.I also use it for email in the same way. I type pretty fast, but it is quite convenient to dicate, an dthen CTRL C, CTRL V it into wherever I need it.Free Office Suite:http://www.openoffice.orgI get pretty good results with this engine, never 99% though, that is quite high, but overall, it's pretty good.I am not sure if MS has more voice options within their MS Speech Server Program or not, as I don't have that program.Voice Recognition has come a long way in the past few years, and really seems to be getting much better.Kudos to Microsoft for letting this be available to us for free. Thanks for posting your thoughts.Regards,Joe
  19. Hi John,I think he said it was for commercial purposes though, not a school setting. Although, I believe MS offers discounts to Educational interests that are not out to profit. If it is a FBO, or Instructors using it, I think you are right, one copy paid for per workstation.I have seen the program offered for about $29.95, so depending on how many licenses he needs, he may be able to receive a discount from somebody. maybe not MS, but vendors where they sell it.I would call around to vendors to see who has excess copies for sale, and negotiate a discount to lower their inventory. Again, it depends on how many licenses he needs.Regards,Joe
  20. I own the same two aircraft, the Porter and the Commander, but the others don't ineterest me right now.For those of you who don't have the Porter or the Commander, I think they are both great aicraft and quite fun to fly. Before I bought the Porter, I had their old freeware version, I think it was for MSFS2000, and got it to work in MSFS2004. Their 2D Panel was awesome for the time. Kind of looked hokey in 2004 version, which meant I finally broke down and purchased the newer one. Glad I did, and was not dissapointed in the least.Regards,Joe
  21. isaacn wrote:>I stumbled accross www.voxatc.com a few days ago following a>very brief mention in a magazine recently. Hi,Ok, They have a brand new domain, according to network Solutions, and you say you found it by being mentioned in a magazine recently. So what Magazine specifically was it in, please?Does it offer a review?I would be very interested to read some reviews, especially if it is already been in a magazine and all. Thanks,Joe
  22. You said:"I am perfectly free to recommend the program , unless the rules have changed without me spotting it?"Yes you are, I agree with that 100%, as I am also able to reflect my observations as well.I just take new poster reviews of new products with a grain of salt. I'm just cautious that way. It's just me.I was just noting the coincidence of it all. It is interesting. As for being a cynic, when I see a website with absolutely NO names attached to a product at their website, I also become a bit suspicous.I also wonder when it is a BRAND NEW Domain.....Domain Name: VOXATC.COM Registrar: TUCOWS INC. Whois Server: whois.opensrs.net Referral URL: http://domainhelp.tucows.com Name Server: NS1.LIVEDNS.CO.UK Name Server: NS2.LIVEDNS.CO.UK Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK Updated Date: 19-nov-2004 Creation Date: 16-nov-2004 Expiration Date: 16-nov-2005Interesting how you are from London, and this is a UK domain reg.I guess all these coincidences are just that. Well, I hope you enjoy your purchase, and happy flightsimming.Regards,Joe
  23. I think you can use it in MSFS 2004.That plane is a Freeware plane that FSD offered to the community. They also have a buy one get one free sale going on right now over there.http://fsd-international.com/I am also disclosing that I have NO RELATIONSHIPS or conflict of interest with the above company, and I've only purchased aircraft from them.I am just a very pleased consumer. :-)Regards,Joe
  24. So we have the following.Original Author has two posts total, and then you come in with a glowing review after having signed up just today. In addition, another poster talks about poster number 1, and that person (Ponyboy) has 3 posts total and has a link in his signature that links to a place where a prominent link at the bottom of his page links to a speech recognition solutions company called terakeet.Ponyboy Link:http://www.milehighproductions.ahost4free.com/Link at bottom of above page:http://www.terakeet.net/hmmmmmmm..I just find that interesting. So do isaacnponyboy &vsukpadmanAll know each other? maybe note, hmmm..... very interesting coincidences, none the less.Do these individuals have any relationships with the payware company that sells this product that they might consider disclosing? No requirement to do so, of course, but it is something I consider whenever I see any review, especially from a program I have not heard of before. You may highly recommend the program, but I think the prudent thing to do would be to see how many others that post here regularly have to say about it.The other interesting thing is your analogy of 99% after training. That is pretty high considering the complexity of speech recognition programs in general.Just a caution folks. Be wary of payware reviews showing up at websites, and the reviewees have a minimum number of posts, seem to have links back to the technology, and well just seem a bit out of the normal reviews we see here from time to time.In a sense... Buyer beware....Now it may be a great product, who knows. Me. I think I will pass for now.Maybe the supporters of this product can link to some reviews by other sites. that would be a help, I think.Regards,Joe
