  1. Hi Damien,Just wondering if the wx server is down? Just now I twice tried to download offline wx, and could only stay connected for a second or two. I got an error message about the operation being timed out.Regards,ScottKJMS
  2. Hi Neal,No, I didn't get a chance to get on with VATSIM this weekend. I tried to install a newer graphics card on this machine, and that opened a whole can of worms! Should have known better than to mess with this old machine. However, I have things back to where they were before the attempted install, and hopefully will have a 3-day weekend, so I'll give it a go then.Know of anyone who wants to buy an ATI Radeon 9200 128Meg AGP card? I couldn't get it to work in this old PII400. Heck, the darn machine wouldn't recognise my old graphics card when I put it back in. Anyway, I'm trying to cut my losses. I paid $100.00 for it, but will sell it for $75.00.Regards,ScottKJMS
  3. Thanks for the info, but is the flickering only in FS9, or is it also in FS2002? FS2002 is what I'll be using the card with initially.Regards,ScottKJMS
  4. Hi Gosta,Thanks for the reply and info!I just figured the 9200 was somewhat dated, since all the posts I saw concerned the 9500 series and up.Regards,ScottKJMS
  5. Greetings all.I have purchased (should arrive next week) one of the older ATI cards, the ATI Radeon 9200 128MB for use in FS2002 (can't afford anything better on a CFII's salary). The original version of Win98 is my operating system.I was just wondering if the drivers that will come with the card will be alright, or if I would be better off getting newer ones, and where I might get them?I was at the ATI site, but not alot of info there.Regards,ScottKJMS
  6. Bill,That is excellent news as I will be sticking with FS2K2 for the forseeable future. Looking forward to the release of the CD. Will they be available to order through the MAAM site?Regards,ScottKJMS
  7. Hi all,I'm thinking of getting the ATI Radeon 9200 Card for FS2K2. I run in full screen mode all the time. Is the flickering an issue with FS2K2 also? And since I'm asking questions ;-) , what would be the best driver set to use with the card, and where would I find them? Thanks and regards,ScottKJMS
  8. Thanks for the reply and info!I'll give it a try next weekend perhaps.Regards,ScottKJMS
  9. Hi all,I'd really like to give VATSIM a try, as I'm a "real" world pilot also. However, I have an older computer (PII400) running FS2K2 and a slow dial-up 'net connection, 26,400bps most of the time.Just wondering if with this old computer and slow connection it would even be worth trying to fly on VATSIM?Regards,ScottKJMS
  10. Greetings! Thanks for the replies!Yes, I tried Igor's panel when it first came out, but for some reason or other I didn't care for it - been awhile, can't remember specifics. I do have Eric's updated panel that I am using now. I was just hoping there might be another one out there that I missed.I see on the FFG forum they are updating their Saab 340's. http://www.fsnordic.net/discussion/index.p...y;threadid=8198Sure hope some talented soul will come up with a newer panel to accompany them.Regards,ScottKJMS
  11. Hi all,I was just wondering if there are any recommendations out there for a Saab 340 panel for fs2k2? Mesaba is going to start servicing the airport I flight instruct at, so my interest in that plane has been rekindled.I've searched the library here and at the "other" flightsim site, but really didn't come up with anything. Regards,ScottKJMS
  12. Hi Jim,Thanks for the reply. I must say that the support of this product is outstanding!I was mistaken, I thought the private server was up and running. I will download the version 1.90 this evening and make the upgrade. The winds aloft never did download for me even on my 3rd attempt. However, what I did do was rename the winds aloft from a previous download that I saved to the "cycle" of the TAF's and METAR's that I was able to download this evening. Soooo, I was able to have some winds aloft. Might not be totally realistic, but after all, this *is* "simming" and not the real world ;-)Regards,ScottKJMS
  13. Hi Damian,I know that you have a new server for the weather downloads. But I'm still having a heck of a time getting the weather. It is still timing out during the winds aloft download portion, and the TAF's and METAR's take forever. I'm using the "low-bandwidth" option of Version 1.87.Gets really frustrating. Trying to download for the 3rd time now, and it's taken me almost an hour to this point. Also, it would be nice if you could stop the download, once you see it is going to time out, by a means other than bringing up the task box (in Win98) and ending the program from there. If I try to quit while the program is attempting to download, it won't let me. Perhaps this has been addressed in the newer versions, if so, disregard this paragraph.Overall I think your product and support are great. Just wish I could get the weather more reliably.Regards,ScottKJMS
  14. Damien,Glad to hear about the new server set-up!!! Thanks a million!Regards,ScottKJMS
  15. Hi Miltos,On my end, I can't get past the Metar download before the timeout error.Regards,ScottKJMS
  16. Hi Damian,Thanks for the reply. I only use the "low bandwidth" download option. Never had a problem until a couple of days ago.Recent downloading problems aside, I sure do like your product, and am very thankful that you created it! Makes simming much more interesting, and realistic ;-)Regards,ScottKJMS
  17. Greetings!I was wondering if the new MAAM DC3 will also work in FS2K2?Sure hope so since I won't be into the new sim for quite some time.Regards,ScottKJMS
  18. Jim,Any idea what is causing the timeout errors when in offline mode? Getting really frustrated here...I was able to download a set of weather files late this afternoon. This evening I was watching the radar on the Weather Channel and found some "interesting" weather, so I tried to download a newer set of weather files. Damn thing timed out on me again....Any help will be appreiciated.Regards,ScottKJMS
  19. Hi all,I'm running version 1.87 of ActiveSky in FS2K2. Up until now I haven't had any problems. However, the past couple of days I am unable to download the weather. I get a "error timeout downloading" message. Also, the weather from previous downloads/days does not seem to work. I get a messages telling me to check my "ini" file and download new weather....which I obviously can't do.I fly in the "offline" mode, using the limited winds aloft option for those of us who are bandwidth challenged.Any suggestions?Regards,ScottKJMS
  20. Just my .02 - the Focke-Wulf 200 Condor...or the JU52.Regards,ScottKJMS

  22. Greetings!Yes, it is a beautiful aircraft and VC. I had the same problems with the missing gauges, but it's an easy fix. Here's the link to the discussion of it:http://www.simufly.com/cgi-local/YaBB/YaBB...;num=1056077727If that dosen't take you there, simply go to http://www.calclassic.com and click on the "forum" link. Look for the discussion titled "B377 Beta Missing Gauges". The thread was started on June 20, 2003.Hope this helps,ScottKJMS
  23. Greetings all!Sorry if this question has been addressed already, but my search of this forum didn't come up with anything.I'm thinking about building my own PC (never done it before), and was wondering if anyone knows of any www sites with info on how to go about it.Regards,ScottKJMS
