  1. Greetings Scott,How about if I email the pic to you directly? I saved it, but it's a little larger than the 125kb allowed for uploading pics. My email is nodak@buffalocity.netThanks for your time and help with this!Yes, good thing there isn't another "Scott" or two in this thread ;-)Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  2. Hi Milton,Thanks again for the quick response.I'm running the original version of Win98. I checked the panel.cfg and the .cab file. All the files you listed are on my computer, in their proper places (I installed as per the instructions). I'm using FS2K2 Pro.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  3. Thanks for the response and info. I tried deleting the .cab file and reinstalling, but no luck...I have both releases of you Dash7, and didn't encounter the problem there. Sure hope we can figure this out.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  4. Greetings! Thanks for creating and releasing this wonderful aircraft! I prefer to fly lite twins and t-props...I know that I'll be getting many hours of enjoyment out of this :-)I guess I'm the only one having this problem, since I haven't seen any posts regarding it. Everything works on the Commander(s) with one exception. When I bring up the radio subpanel there is nothing there except the audio panel across the top, and an empty black vertical rectangle where the other radio gauges should be. When I move my mouse over this area, I can see where the "click" spots (+, -, etc...) but there is nothing else there. This is on both the VC and NVC aircraft.Anyone have any ideas....?Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  5. Greetings Martin,Thanks for the info about Altavista - I'll give that a try.I managed to get the artifcial horizons working, by flipping a switch on one of the sub-panels...however when I have that switch "up" the horizons work, but the annunciator warning lights stay on...turn the switch off, the warning lights go out, but the horizons don't work...Gonna be awhile getting to know the taps with this machine. It will be worth it, though. Beautiful cockpit, aircraft and a nice feeling flight model.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  6. I got it installed also...but not everything is working. The artificial horizon (both of them) act like there's no power to them, but I've flipped everyswitch on the panels I can find. Also does the stt_nabvgau.cfg file go in the FS2K2 gauges folder? It would be so nice if someone could tranlate the necessary parts of the manual to get the plane up and running for us non-Russian speaking types (the Russians probably said the same thing about the 767PIC manual ;-) ).Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  7. Gavin,Thanks alot for the info. I'll have a go at it again this evening....so are you saying just go ahead and point the .exe file to the fs2k2 root folder (or aircraft folder)? I usually don't like to do that since I like to see what the files are before I install them in fs2k2.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  8. Hi all!I just got the file, but at the risk of sounding like a complete dolt, but how do you install it?I pointed the exe file to a temp folder and nothing that extracted resembles the FS2K2 structure, as near as I can tell. Also, what are the .rar files?Any help will appreciated. Love flying these older airplanes.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  9. Bert, Thanks for the info. That's what I needed to know (and wanted to hear) ;-)Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  10. Thanks! I'll download it this evening.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  11. Hey all,I've followed this thread with interest, and was wondering if any of the above cards would make a difference on my antiquated system. I know that FS2K2 is very CPU intensive, so card in my case wouldn't give me much of the way of frame rate increase. However, I would like to squeeze a little more performance out of this machine the last few months that I will have it. My computer is a PII 400, 384RAM, with the Diamond Viper 770 32Meg card, running on the original Windows98 release. Actually it does fairly well with 2K2 provided I don't go crazy with the sliders. If anyone has a recommendation for a newer video card, please let me know.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  12. Steffan,Thanks for the direct link! I was wondering if someone could tell me how large the file is? Slow 'net connection here...Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  13. For those who are interested, a real world aviation site that has alot of "rules of thumb" (descents, etc...) is http://www.flightinfo.comRegards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  14. Gizbug,Thanks for the reply and the info, glad that it is possible to network them.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  15. Greetings all!I hope within the next couple of months to finally get a newer computer since this old PII400 is getting abit long in the tooth for flight simming as we now know it. My question concerns networking computers together. My next system will probably have Windows XP installed on it, while my old one has the original version of Win98. I'd like to use the old one as a file server. Does anyone know if you can network those 2 operating systems together?Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  16. This driver thread really has me interested in trying the 29.42's.I have an old system with - running Windows98 original - that has a Diamond Viper 770 32 meg card. Currently I'm running the nVidia 4.13.01.1241 version drivers. Actually I get pretty good performance on this tired old PII 400 in 2K2 Pro as long as I don't go nuts with the settings. Does anyone know if those drivers will work with this card, and what's the best way to install them? It's been so long that I've forgotten how to uninstall old drivers and properly install the new ones.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  17. The twin prop release from FSD is fantastic! The Baron flies wonderfully now - haven't had time to mess about with the KingAir.Many thanks to those folks over at FSD!!Regards,ScottCFII/KJMSP.s., anyone know of a decent KingAir panel?
  18. Yes, same here. I couldn't fly the MD80 last night due to the wind rush noise. Going to be looking in the sound file later this evening and remarking out the offending file.Hard to believe this got by all the testing...other than that - looks like a great airplane!Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  19. I'm running an old PII400 and the Falcon 50 (lite version) is very flyable on my system.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  20. Hey all,I was just wondering what kind of performance/frame rates you're getting with the 757 panel before I download it (will take forever on this slow 'net connection)?I have an old PII 400, which runs the PIC 767 very nicely. Just wondering if my archaic rig will be able to run the 757 package...Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  21. Most certainly you can get a license, without restrictions. When I went for my first medical waaaayyy back in 1977, I miserably failed the color test. My student pilot certificate had noted in the limitations section: "Not valid for night flight or by color signal control". I contacted the local FSDO (GADO back in those days) and set up a practical test with an FAA inspector. This involved him and I standing in the parking lot at varying distances from the control tower. The tower personnel would flash a light gun at me and I'd indentify it's color. Piece of cake...Now I have the "Statement of Demonstrated Ability" that I show to the AME if he has any questions about my color blindness. The FAA accepted the waiver without any problems when I got a 1st Class medical also.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  22. JS,For some magnificent Viscounts and Vanguards, take a peek at Rick Piper's site:http://www.btinternet.com/~rick.piper/index.htmRegards,ScottCFII/KJMS
  23. Lots of Rules of Thumb here too:http://www.flightinfo.comLots of real-world aviation message boards too.Regards,ScottKJMS
  24. Greetings all!I agree whole-heartedly with the orginal poster!I would also love to see more of the piston liners (DC4's, 6's, 7',s...etc..)There are some nice models out there, the FS-Design Berlin site (http://www.fsdesign-berlin.da.ru/) comes to mind, but there aren't any panels that really do them justice.Just my .02 worth...Regards,ScottKJMS
  25. I guess it would all depend on what part of the country you are in and how busy (or not busy) the airspace is.Out here on the upper Great Plains, it is very common to hear from Minneapolis Center "Descend at pilot's discretion", "Cleared as filed", or "Cleared direct".Keep in mind that I'm speaking of single engine/light twin IFR operations. It may be quite different for the people flying the heavier iron at the higher altitudes.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS
