I don't have the PSS Dash 8 on my computer, but I seem to recall that in a previous discussion it was revealed that the Dash 8 is not compatible with the straight (original) version of Windows 98. It will only run on machines that have Win98ME/SE or XP. If I remember correctly this information is in the documentation for the add-on and at the PSS download site. Regards,ScottKJMS

Greetings all! I'm sick of interrupted downloads (no, not from this site) due to a slow 'net connection. Could anyone please recommend a download utility that will reconnect and resume the download after the connection is lost?I searched the forums here for "download accelerator" and "download utility" but nothing came up. I apologise if this question has been addressed before.Regards,ScottKJMS

Well, you can do at least the ground portion(oral) of the BFR (Biennial Flight Review, or more accurately, just "Flight Review" according to the regs now) done. When I give Flight Reviews I try to set up a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere in that the person receiving the Flight Review understands that it is not a "test", but a positive learning experience. I first talk with the person about what type of flying they do, what areas they think they are weak in, and concentrate on those...with attention paid to any regulatory changes that might have occured that they are not aware of. As for the flight portion we do the usual airwork (slow flight, steep turns, stalls, emergencies, etc...) and several landings. I'm not looking for perfection, but just want to make sure the person is safe and competent.Just my .02 worth.Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS

Donna,Thank you for the info. I checked the version of AirEd that I'm using and discovered it was v1.10 (only *slightly* behind the times, am I). I downloaded v1.52 and the updated ini file from the site in the above post. I'll have a go with it tomorrow.Once again, thanks for the help.Regards,ScottKJMS

Hi Donna,Thanks for posting the suggested changes to the cfg and air file for the aircraft in question. I made the first set of changes and that improved the roll response dramatically. However in trying to implement the rest of the changes regarding yaw, I'm not finding alot of the records in that you mention using AirEd in REC 1101. Could you please give me a little guidance as how/where to find them?Regards,ScottKJMS

Hi all!I was wondering if any of you folks could recommend a good random weather generator for use in FS2K2?I prefer to stay away from one that uses real world metars to generate the weather since my 'net connection is pretty slow and shakey.Regards,ScottKJMS

There's a real gem (at least in my humble opinion) that has recently been released. It's a Focke-Wulf FW200 Condor. It comes with a very nice panel and virtual cockpit. Also includes 3 liveries and extensive documentation. Just took it up for a quick flight and seems to fly pretty nicely too...although of course I have no idea what the real one flew like ;-)The file name is fw200a2.zip and it is available on the "other" site, and also at:http://www.fsfreeware.com/The only thing lacking is a good sound package. The sound cfg defaults to the FS2K2 Corsair.Hope you like it as much as I do!Regards,ScottKJMS

Hi there!I was just wondering how large the download file(s) is, and what kind of computer it takes to run it?Regards,ScottKJMS

For Saving Post About Clouds and Se
ndflieger replied to Chris Willis's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hi Chris,I had posted a question earlier regarding FSW SE, but never got a response...guess it got lost amongst all the others.I have been using the previous version of FSW and I must say it is wonderful! I installed the sun, moon, and halo sets with that version. I would like to use them with the SE version, but I've seen no mention of them in the documentation. Can I use them, and how would I go about installing them with FSW SE?Thanks for your creating this wonderful add-on!Regards,ScottKJMS -

Hi Chris,Thanks for creating the FSW packages. I have all of your original releases and really like them. I have downloaded but haven't yet installed the SE version. In this latest verion - the SE - I didn't see any mention of adding the moon set, sun set, and halo set that I've used with the previous version in any of the documentation. Can a person use these textures with the new version, and how would I go about adding them?Regards,ScottKJMS

Mark,You wouldn't happen to have a file name for that L1011 panel, would you? I did a search here on Avsim for Sokolov, and L1011 in the fs2000 and fs2002 sections of the library, but all came up empty.(Oops....disregard. I just noticed in a post a little further down it's on the *other* site).Regards,ScottKJMS
