  1. >XP only uses 3 GB of memory in its application space AND you>have to enable the above 2GB statement in your boot.ini or it>won't recognize anything above 2GB.MikeWould you care to share the details of that statementthat needs to be added in the boot.ini? Thanks
  2. I have at present 845 entries in my scenery config file plus allsorts of payware airdraft. After having had to reinstall FS9 andall the sceneries a couple of times due to disk failures, etc.I decided to do one more complete installation which I then "Ghosted"onto DVDs. Had to reinstall a couple of times since and everything was done in a few hours. The hardest bit was to insert the DVDs as and when system requested.;-) Season's greetings
  3. Hey! I'm not complaining, I'm just not going to buy it fora loooooong time! Maybe in a year and a half's time afterall the patches, etc.The only thing that impressed me after running the demo were the clarity of the textures with no blurries, no much asidefrom that.Regards
  4. Thanks for the suggestions, both combined worked a treat.
  5. Is there any way of increasing the overall light levelswithin FS9, by tweaking any cfg file? The default seems to be rather dark. Thanks
  6. When visiting the page it says account suspended?Have they gone for good? Feedback appreciated if possible. Thanks
  7. I would like to make a video while in FS9 and be ableto record the ATC sound while flying in Vatsim.I've got the video side working fine but I'm a bit loston how to record. My set-up is as follows:3 PC LAN via Router and cablePC1 - Main FS9 InstallationSounds via motherboard built-in Creative 24bit soundcard to connected speakers.PC2 -WideFSFSInn Vatsim ClientExtigy USB Soundcard Plantronics Headset USBSpeakers connected to line out on ExtigyVatsim voice activated by pressing button on yoke.Push-to-talk also configured in FSUIPC and in FSInn.All works very well except I haven't got a clue how to getthe voice I hear on my headset/speakers on PC2 to recordon video being made on PC1.Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  8. Queenstown (NZQN) in New Zealand is a very interestingapproach if you download the New Zealand Mesh, PhotorealScenery and relevant airports. All freeware. Suggest shortflight NZCH-NZQNNZQN scenery filename nzqnv1.0.zip (Avsim)NZCH scenery filename nzch04v1.zip (Avsim)Andy Weir's New Zealand Mesh files: nzsrtm1.zip, nzsrtm2.zip,and s45e167_fix_v2.zip.Enjoy
  9. HenrikWhat aircraft are you flying? the panel looks real nice. Thanks
  10. KJB & JackDMany thanks for the info will action straight away.I already have the RWY12 libs.
  11. I seem to remember a mention in the readme file that thisscenery required "EZ Libraries" could someone tell me what theyare and where to get them? Thanks
  12. KeithI have never felt the need to change any default settings for the pedals, since at least in my case they have always workedfine after the install. Doing tight turns on the ground canbe tricky sometimes, but in my opinion that's more to do withhow the throttles are configured and power applied during taxithan with anything else. Not sure what you are using as joystickbut it's worthwile to calibrate your throttle in FSUIPC for better response while on the ground and of course in the air.
  13. Thanks guys for the replies. Will check out those lights.
  14. Let's assume you have the Yoke and the pedals combo.First of all connect them to your USB PortsDownload the Control Manager V4 from CH Products siteand install it. When installing it will begin to identifyyour devices and prompting you to load divers. Always choosethe "install automatically" option. This will repeat forevery device. You may have to reboot and afterwards it ispossible it will identify more devices and prompt you fordrivers, so proceed in the same manner stated above. When all done, fire-up FS9 and go to the Joystick assignmentsection and select the Axis page. Make sure you untick theRudder entry in the Axis section for your Yoke and ensurethat it is ticked in the Axis section of your Pedals. That's it. All you have to do now if you wish is to calibratethem from inside FS9.If you are using a joystick with the pedals, then same as aboveensuring there is no tick for the rudder in the joystick axis section.Trust this clarifies your query.
  15. I have been using for sometime now the Halon type lights, and although they look impresive I find that they tendto make it difficult to see the jetway markings, etc. What would be the best light package? Your comments greatly appreciated. Thanks
  16. Wow! Well many thanks for the great replies. I have read your postingon weather Mr Randazzo and I think that weather is what causesthe problem, for going from memory when this problem occured I noticed the weather changed suddenly followed by loss of speed, etc. Have also ticked the items Skireyev suggested in AS6.I must say I have noticed this sudden weather changes before butnever imagined it could affect the aircraft systems.Lonemoon, I cannot remember last time I used map mode but I willkeep in mind your comments if I ever do.Will see how things go and will let you know of any developments.
  17. Let me start by saying that I am not an expert when it comes to aviation. However I have flown 2000 hours plus in VATSIM usingall kinds of payware aircraft. So let me explain what the problem is and perhaps someone can tell me what I have done wrong or notas the case may be.After loading the fuel and wt with the configurator and programming the FMS I took off from KSFO for a 10 hour + flight to GCTS.I engaged TOGA for take off and at approx 4000 ft engaged LNAV/VNAVand the aircraft climbed to its programmed FL360 and upon reachingCRZ mode was engaged and plane was on SPD ALT VNAV PATH. After approx an hour into the flight I disconnected from VATSIM and went to dosome chores, some 2 hours later upon my return I was surprised tohear the stick shaker and the aircraft struggling at 210KTS.LNAV/VNAV was disengaged and aircraft was several miles from itsprogrammed route. Also the nose was up and I just couldn't engagethe THR or SPD buttons. The only thing I was able to do to recover from this was to take aircraft into a dive to increase its speed and then re-engage the Autopilot, LNAV/VNAV and get the aircraftto climb again. It did all this flawlessly and afterwards trimand everything else was OK for the rest of the flight. This verysame thing has happened to me on various ocassions.Anti-ice was engaged and the weather was being produced by ActiveSky 6. I have read the post concerning throttle management andbelieve I have followed its recommendations accordingly.Would be grateful for any input/advice.
  18. I do apologise, as I wasn't aware anybody could have accessto the repaints without having first made a purchase.I have an account with your company but haven't used it forquite sometime. Once again I guess it proves how dangerousassumptions can be.Difficult for me to know the comercial terms between Flight1and yoruselves, but thanks for the reply, I guess I'll have tobuy the FS9 version.Trust you weren't offended by my earlier post based on myignorance.
  19. Sometime ago when I only had a 56k modem, I purchased the CD versionof the Dash 8 sold by Flight 1 for Fs2002.Was wondering if this aircraft would work in FS9 and if not whetherthere are some updates available and how to obtain them. This CDalso includes Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London City Airport scenery.
  20. Come on Norman surely the reason must be to stopthose who pirate your software from havingaccess to the repaints. Your convoluted reply makesno sense specially when you consider that most simmersuse AVSIM as their point of reference for downloads, etc.Finding any likely repaints would not be a problem. While I am at it, would really appreciate a replyto my posting in the Dash8 Forum concerning a queryre the CD version I purchased for FS2002 sometime ago.It seems other questions in the same forum have been answered while my posting ignored. Isn't the CD version of Dash 8your product although sold by Flight 1?
  21. To avoid VOZ textures appearing on any other part of the worldoutside Australia use the UNVOZ option on the installer.
  22. I've downloaded available freeware Philippines Sceneriessuch as that for Davao but find that although the airportscenery is faithfully reproduced the FS9 tile where it restsappears as grey. I'm aware from previous experience that thistends to occur when bgl cannot find relevant textures. HoweverI followed installation instructions to the letter but still havethis problem at various airports. Would appreciate any inputfrom anybody who has managed to successfully install these sceneries. Thanks
  23. HolgerAll sorted. I had used Flightsim Manager to install thembut Mt_Everest_photoreal.bgl was placed in the landclassfolder by this program, that explains why things weren't working.Apologies for inconvenience and thanks for a great scenery. What a difference it makes. Thanks
  24. Thanks for your reply Holger.Let me explain.I downloaded the following files from the library:fs_him_01.zipfs_him_02.zip (with textures)fs_him_b1.zipfs_him_b2.zipAfter unzipping them 4 directories where created. One of them contained mesh and photoreal textures.I simply added them individually to the scenery config but still get the grey tiles. Cannot think what I have done wrong.Since there entries for each directory and also theFS9.cfg has been altered to display LOD10 mesh.Should I perhaps not have installed all 4 files? Thanks
  25. Unzipped and installed the files directly to Addon Sceneryand entries are the highest possible (at end of scenery.cfg)When I fly over the areas the mesh displays ok but the areais all grey and displays no textures. No other mesh files for the area installed with exception ofNepal Airports scenery.Any pointers about what could be causing problem would beappreciated. Thanks
