Yes :( you are correct it does come up as a "pop up ",but that is a 2d :( image ,which is not part of the clickable vc.

I bought QW757 :( to use for fs9. Yes, :( it does has nice repaints,but it lacks in many other :( areas. First, the exterior model on the fs9 version has lines in the fuse that look terrible.Second, the FMC cannot be used in VC mode as a part of the clickable VC. It displays the fmc in the 3d vc as a 2d image which is windowed.Third ,the overall interior is over saturated with too much color.I could go on and on, but I think you get my point already.To be honest ,I really never put much of my time in learning how to correctly use the captain sim 757model . Now, after finding out what a waste of money the QW 757 was, I decided to read the captain sim 757 manual and really give it a try out. Now ,I am hooked on it B) .My comments are just my honest opinion nothing more or less.Peace B) out

First off, thanks for all replies!Ok too make this cyrstal clear, No matter if you purchase either ATI or nvidia, its best to choose a video card that only has one gpu for fs9 or fsx?

This is for anyone that has either of these cards .Which video card you think is better for fs9 :( ? Currently, :( I own the 4870 ati 2048mb card. In the past I owned the 9800 gtx 2gb which for some reason got better frame rates :( then the ati card ,but did not have as vivid of a image as the ati :( . I want to go with nvidia once again since it supports 3d.Please, feel free to let me know what you think on this topic.Thanks :(

Rhodges,First off,Thank you :( for taking time out of your day to reply . I do not use fsx at all ,in fact everytime I install it ,I remove it that same day :( .As for fs9, I use it daily.What I was wondering was the settings that you have found for fs9 considering nicks guide focuses on fsx mainly.Thanks again! :(

Thanks for the reply :( I will try N.Needhams guide and install sp2. I just can't understand why the sim is shuttering so much ,compared to smooth flowing fs9 in the 32bit os even with no changes to the default install.

I just installed windows xp 64 bit pro sp1 :( , mother board drivers, Ati 9-8_xp64_dd_ccc_enu.exe ,NetFx64.exe ,and dxwebsetup.exe. Reboted then installed fs9 all files :( . The system shows all of my 4gb of ram and everything seems to be working as in keyboard etc.Then started fs9 and everything works fine except that, I am getting about half the about of frame rates :( that I was getting with windows xp pro 32 bit.I tired changing my frame rate tab to unlimited and it didn't seem to effect anything.My question is for those that use B) windows xp 64 bit pro what do I need to do that is different from a windows xp pro 32 bit os set up ,besides making sure the drivers are for a 64 bit os?,I have read so many statements stating windows xp 64 bit is the way to go .please help.....My specs B) FS9.1Intel Core i7-960 Bloomfield 3.2GHz oc to 3.5ghz stable corsair water cooledASRock X58 Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboardkingston hyper x DDR3 2000 pc16000 4gbCreative sound blaster gamer extremeATI 4870 2048 mb video cardintel sdd 160 gb hardrive

Great Idea but I know this for a fact because I have two ssd drives .If the os is not on the same drive as fs9 you will get about half the frame rates as opposed to having the os on the same drive as fs9.

I have read at http://www.jetlinesystems.com/performance.html that "SLI Impact on FSX(multiple graphics card configurations)Our testing has proved that SLI graphics will only improve performance when run on extremely high display resolutions. Although many games benefit from SLI, FSX typically will not."Also, I have read here at avsim people posting things like compared to a single 2gb card they get faster results in SLI with two 1gb cards.Does anybody know the truth about SLI and is it a benifit too either fs9 ,FSX or not ?

Great to see your sytem running fs9 so smoothly and nice specs you have quite a rig!If you wouldn't mind ,could you post or list fps of 100% traffic with all sim(fs9) setting set to max at FSD team KJFK with a high quality payware aircraft also in the picture. That's what I would like to see , a sytem really being put to the test.

Hello,For those that use the enbseries bloom effect in fs9 I have a question.What does "0" mean= does these mean off and 1 is on? example=EnableBloom=(0,1) Enables bloom effect, blurring bright screen areas and adding result back to screen, simulating illumination of some objects. It works very fast on modern hardware, but wrong setting or bad drivers will result in overbrighting or some other artifacts. Not uses HDR textures and that's why hardware compatibility is high.Also some settings go as high as 1000. example =EnvBumpOffset=(0..1000) Step for generating direction and amount of bump from car texture. Bigger texture size need less value to make visible small details.

I don't know if this is the correct cure, but I add mip maps to all textures that are shimmering. I have done this to my trees and all of my AI aircraft. The effect is great because it tends to blurr the object as it gets farther away which is exactly what happen to things in the real world. :(

Well, I tired windows xp 64 ..... I don't know what went wrong, but my frame rates were just terrible compared to windows xp pro 32 bit. So I, went ahead and went back to xp pro 32 bit, after a couple of hours and some disappointments. After, my reinstall of xp 32 bit ,I went ahead and reinstalled fsx just to see what my new sytem would do for it. The result was not that great. I tired too tweak it for some time, then I would check out the results. I just wasn't satisied. I mean yes ,the water looks great but then again, its like Fly tampa's TNCM just didn't look as detailed as it does in fs9. Also, even at a default busy airport its like my system was crying on the ground. It seems you have to either give up details in the each sim one way or the other .So with that said I just went right back to removing fsx and back to FS9. After my reinstall, which is fairly easy, since I have a back up hard drive with a tested copy of fs9 on it .I then remembered why after all these years I keep using this great sim. I don't know whats the secret to making fsx run and look good but I can bet that nobody can load up their sim with so many things running as in back ground programs and maxed out settings as you can do in fs9 with still good results.
