dazz,You are pretty good at pointing out the obvious about my ram, but maybe you should focus on the details,where if you had read the previsous post to this thread, I replied and stated that I use to have windows 7 64bit installed.So yes, I know xp only uses half of the ram I have installed ,athough xp works better for me.

I had that same problem with windows 7 64 bit in fs9.I went back to xp pro and saw everything good again with my clouds using the ati 4870 2gb.

I went ahead and tested one more time just to make sure I had it right.Crossfire gave me about twice the frames .So ,I stand corrected.For some reason FSDT KDFW was giving me strange frame rates in the first test.I tired my testing with fly tampa sceneries getting anywhere from 30 to 240 fps with crossfire enabled.Which without crossfire, I didnt even come close to those frames.

Ping pong,I tired this out(crossfire) in fs9 . It works with my two 5870 video cards.One of the cards has 2gb of memory while the other only has 1gb.I performed several tests(crossfire,one card of 2gb then the single card with 1gb) and found my system worked best with only one 5870 card which has the lower ram of 1gb.This really shocked me !I thought the more ram the better results.What do you think? Thanks for the reply.Do you see any increase(as far as fs9 goes) with these functions applied?

Anybody using FSPS - MULTICORE ENVIRONMENT? If so ,do you get the same effect without the program , if you were to just press control alt delete and under task manager just manually(set affinity) change the settings in the processes tab ?I tired that method and saw no difference in sim preformance.

Mip maps are good as long as you don't use them on the outside of a aircraft you (FLY)use. Although, mipmaps on AI work great.

I had windows 7 64 bit on my new sytem for about two weeks. After, my install of fs9, I noticed frame rates were high but ,unstable as long as no clouds were in the area.So I tired ,many different types of cloud textures ,dxt3 ,lower res 512x512 ,tweaks etc. My video card is the ati 5870 2gb. With that said I was getting very frusrated and tired new drivers older ones anything. Well all I can say is this ,I went back to windows xp 32 bit sp3. My frame rates are great again in all condtions. This is just a heads up for those that may want to go to another os. I am not looking for a debate , just explaining my experince. I checked my memory with cupid cpu or also known as cpu-z and it states I am running at 1t. I tired 7-7-7-20 and system locks up on start up...will try 8-8-7-22 next.....
