Wondering out loud. ​My P3D keeps crashing randomly without warning while in flight with my Trip7. ​The last few flights the navdata hasn't been upto date fresh install since 3.1 (lazy) With that in mind, if I planned a PFPX flight with say the 1513 data, but I was using the original shipped ND could the sim crash when it gets to a point that no longer exists because the trip 7 cant handle it, or would it just ignore the point that's not there and carry on any way? ​I'v updated the navdata now so I might not ever find the cause. but none the less I'm going to strip my sim back to nothing and see if I can find the cause of these random crashes. sigh. ​(not OOM I had 1.5gb remaining according to FSUIPC) ​Liam Reynolds

I have heard of both "Heads Up's!!" but in this case, yes i am back. ​I must be getting old tho, as i purposfully read the important bits in the manual before i kicked the tires... unlike the pilot in me of 2004! ​Shes a sweet bird, glad to finally have her in my hangar! ​With regard to my specs in my signature (i knew they would get me with something!!!!!) . Hello PMDG!! ​Its been 10 years since I purchased a PMDG product (stuck on FS9) but I have now made the switch to Prepar3d. For Christmas I asked Santa nicely for a New 777 and he has granted that wish, (well two seeing as he's thrown the 300ER in as well. This is nothing more, than a "Hello", "I am back", a "How are we", and a heads up to get my RTFM's ready for me as I try and fly this thing... ​it's downloaded all ready, but am not allowed to install until the 25th. and having spent months watching the likes of Kyle, and Froogle's videos, I really cant wait, ​(although I am sure my wife isn't looking forward to me disappearing for a "few" hours whilst I get the installation, configuration and a couple of touch and Go's completed!!) Looking through the various forums, its good to see most threads still contain at least one post, where someone has to point out the use of full names. ​Nothing changes!! hahaha ​Regards... ​ You thought I had forgot didn't you! ​Liam Reynolds.

ummm I spent all my cash on the rig... so don't yet have everything that i want. I have the aerosoft airbus, ASN GSX and Rex4. I locked the other day to 30 for the first time and its hanging around 28.8 ish as i type. but iv been fudging around with things (affinity mask i think its called) , and i have no idea what I'm doing when I'm dragging all these sliders and what not, so do not take my word as exact, and i know its not as good as it was before i started playing. How does it perform? when I'm unlocked, it seems really happy, intact if i unlock right now its jumping around 50 to 80, and thats on approach into some random Mexican place in my A320. when i go to UK2000 London, i do see a decrease, but there are certainly no stutters. what gets me is my CPU temp... i mean I'v been on this thing for a few hours, and the reported temp while flying is 26c. the core isn't even being tested, i really need to look at this tweaking business and optimise the system to make it maximise the PC. i dont think you will see a static 30 going back to your question, i think you will see it jump around a little, Like i have just landed and locked to 33. its hanging around 31.8 and 32.4 As a question to you chief, Why would you get ram with speed not less than 2800? what is the benefit of that speed? i did a lot of research in my rig, and ill be honest and say its the first i have heard of it, i would be interested in your reasonings in case I'm killing my system, i have used bios to auto OC my 4.0 processor to 4.5 and my RAM from 2100 (default speed) to 2400 (even tho they are 2400 sticks) with zero problems, (for now). Liam as for the SSD, i would skip the SSD for the OS and Get a board that accepts .M2 it really is the way forward!! until i get the Trip 7 Next month, i won't be able to comment. but by which time i hope to have at least worked out the optimisation.

How is it? I have a new build, and am tempted by this software, but really cant be dealing with having to pay for something that might work after 3 days if I haven't already broken the new PC installing it. also, given my luck, ill get it installed, and the programmer will announce the new Version 2. ​ Liam

~ I have The 6700k OC to 4.5. with Gigabyte 970, Z170MB and 32GB of ram. (plus a .M2 drive - if your going z170 you should totally look at this.) I have ​come from a 2008/9 home build with an intel Celeronz D 3.0 with 4GB ram running FS9 and am blown away by the new PC performance. In stock mode I can see frames well over 150 using a stock plane, its completely blown me away in so many ways. I should note that moving away from stock settings obviously has impact for me, iv played around with the sliders a little, but I still need to sit down and learn about these new things like FXAA, MSAA and Anisotropic ​actually mean. I am still too busy enjoying my new system and sim set up to worry about tweaking things at the moment. ​ Happy Flying. Liam ​​

Just to add my 2p... I just recently switched from FS9, and my 2D flight decks to Prepar 3D, whilst my own Trip 7 is still being built (delivery expected late Dec!!) as someone who has been a 2D panel guy since 1998, and a hater of Virtual's, i have to be honest and say I have been surprised, at how much I have enjoyed using them. Thanks Brian, but actually thanks to this topic it got me thinking and i have worked out the cause of my problem. This one has been bugging me for days, and its proving so hard to find any solid information on anything related to the old queen, google is to eager to push me threads about newer versions rather than the stuff i am looking for from 2005/8 It was your comment above about overlays and simulated keypresses that got me thinking, so I cleared out everything and let FS2crew re asssign again via the start center, and everything works a peach... Thanks tho. appreciate your help and your work on what you do, i may be flying old kit, but im having lots of fun in my Ifly 737, Ld767, and pm747... all with your program attached! I cant begin to wonder what you have done in the last few years looking at the pace of development of all things flightsim! rgds Liam

Sorry to drag this up from a billion years ago, but after days of searching through googles massive Archive of 2-3 generations of flightsim I finally stumbled across this thread. I am having this same problem. Where clicking App on approach plays the sound file but does nothing else apart from disable my joystick. Was there a know workaround to this problem?/ do I just need to look at keyboard Ini files wherever they may be.... Thanks!

Me too... When the recall button is pushed, it flicks all the engine cut off switches, and all so the engine start switches.

It Might be a FSUIPC problem with duplicated assignments, It froze part of my PMDG 744 as well. Standby one.

Hi Bryan, me again. I have installed my 767-300 again and added my FS2Crew to it, but for what ever reason when i get to the before start check list the captain is calling his responses before the F/o Reads his List items, e.g. - Parking Break - Cut Off - Fuel Control - ON - Passenger Signs - Confirmed 10 tonnes, and so on and so forth, then when we get down to 0 and i hit the main button to start the right engine, My F/O insists on doing the after start flow. before even bothering to do the before start flow or the actual start sequence. Do you have any suggestions as to what i could be screwing yp. I have deleted and reinstalled FS2crew and the LDS767 but to no avail. any insight as to what could be going on would be greatly appreciated. Regards Liam

Hi Bryan... Im back to getting airborne after many years of not flying and I'm confused by my programs saved. I have just re-installed Wilco Airbus Vol 1, (FS9) and on file i have Wilco FS2C airbus edition, and FS2C Wilco Airbus SE. Which should i be using? (or both) and advice would be appreciated.. Cheers. So even if im flying in 2010 with all this as it is now... as long as i keep say, fsbuild upto date with airac's, as long as thats generating the Lat/Lon of the flight plan R/C will take point names from this and not whats in the FS database?Thanks"Lairy" Liam Reynolds
