It does appear that X-Plane is having more and more in the way of releases. I have invested a lot of money in P3D, but the amount of aircraft available seems really lacking for what it is that I would like to do. With what Kyle said in mind, It just seems that aircraft take years to develop, (as long as the real world counterparts) there must be what 3-4 companies all "in development" just frustrating I guess when supply cannot keep up with demand. Anyways I have spent a little time on the classic. and I like what I see, I couldn't get on with the platform is all, so I'm hoping that it comes towards P3D rgds. British Airways does not use nav lights?
Lairyliam replied to Boeing or not going's topic in PMDG 777
My bad. I misread somebody's post on page one... They were talking about Iberia. In a previous life, my job was to save fuel/time for BA (well British Regional/CitiExpress) on a daily basis. We would work on a rough rate of 145gbp a minute, that the plane wasn't sat on the floor, and that was 10 years ago. They stripped all the APU's out of the Dash 8's to save money, so I'm not surprised that they are now onto lightbulbs.... Lets be honest, we could close off lavatory's, stop using APU's on all aircraft, and even go to the extreme of flying on one engine.... Just because we have two doesn't actually mean you have to use it do you? Trip 7 can be certified for what, 300 mins of flight on one engine. there is a maths equation in there somewhere between drag, weight, increased fuel et al for someone far cleverer than I! and yes, its an absurd suggestion... Sounds like a challenge to me!!!! Liam Reynolds

Have you got any routes or SID/STAR that have this problem?? I have been testing all week, and haven't noticed anything. Liam Reynolds

British Airways does not use nav lights?
Lairyliam replied to Boeing or not going's topic in PMDG 777
I re read you reply and realise you probably know exactly what they are... but if it helps someone else ill leave the info below! Liam... I was hazard a guess that the Red and green, (akin to port and starboard on a boat) are shown as navigation lights, in fact... (wikipeida https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navigation_light) - Right-of-way lights — A red light is mounted on the left or port side of the craft and a green on the right or starboard side. In a situation where the paths of two watercraft or aircraft cross, these lights help each crew determine the other craft's direction and who has right-of-way. When two craft have crossing paths, each sees a red or green running light. The craft on the port side, which must yield right of way, sees the red light on the other, while the craft on the starboard side, which has right of way, sees the green on the other. Where as position lights show your position (same web page as above) - Aircraft navigation lights are placed in a way similar to that of marine vessels, with a red navigation light located on the left wingtip leading edge and a green light on the right wingtip leading edge. A white navigation light is as far aft as possible on the tail or each wing tip.[3] High-intensity strobe lights are located on the aircraft to aid in collision avoidance. It goes on from there... British Airways does not use nav lights?
Lairyliam replied to Boeing or not going's topic in PMDG 777
This is one of the best topics this forum has had in a long time, certainly more intresting to read than a "whats next" or "when will it be released?" Its something i had not even considered, as far as i was concerned (UK airline/airport experience from 2000-2008) it was; If the batteries are on, the nav lights are on, when doors are shut and your ready to push get the beacon goes on, and when your live on the runway your strobes are on. I mean exactly how much fuel are we talking about here for saving? its cant be that much can it??? Liam Reynolds -
I found this series very helpful. I painted my first ever aircraft last weekend, and used this as my guide. (although mine was a fictional repaint for my own endeavours) I used Premiere Elements 14, and P3D SDK for converting .psd files into the .dds format. Hope it helps. Liam Reynolds.

well, if proof of concept is how you guys do things, I think you should use the 757 as your next proof of concept project.. that way, we all stay happy, and you can plan for your next xxx-x(xx) project I mean lets be honest, the 757 and 787 both have round wheels... that has to be close enough... Right!!!??? HA!!! Liam "Didn't forget my name" Reynolds

Lairyliam replied to a121017's topic in PMDG General Forum

Runway on my little Island that I reside is only 5700ft, who wants in on that landing!! Liam (I forgot my name again) Reynolds -
you can pay me to watch for you... - oh, and iv lost 25 mins checking THIS forum to see which aircraft I secretly hope they announce next (757) is NEVER being produced by PMDG. its not just the checking for that all important announcement that will see us run into a speculating/ feature request frenzy (wings engines and wheels please). There is always a thread thats worth a read to learn from what others are discussing. For intstance, who knew that over clocking a PC can screw your sim... AND there is a thing called 1st Split scimitar! what ever that is. (Oh... that just looks gross #iamout) Liam (I nearly forgot my name again) Reynolds.

The way my P3d crashes mid flight i can see why.... Bit that bothers me is everything I see discussed as NOT being produced, is way up on my list of what I would buy right now. I'v even wondered about producing something myself, (ZERO experience in anything other than CTRL-X,C,V and searching google!) Then I see a few posts from Ryan pointing people right, and realise that I should just stick to making paper planes for the kids! Fudgecicles , I know, i know. Full Names please... Liam Reynolds...

I probably shouldn't even ask this question, but....
Lairyliam replied to Jimmy Helton's topic in PMDG General Forum
I have come from FS9. spent £1500 on a new system last October and went straight into P3D, apart from occasional unexplained crashes, and vas Issues ( own fault for running way to much stuff) I really have gotten back to flight sim, and since buying the 777 and the 737 just after Christmas, I'm on around 60 flights for 2016. Its a large investment, but the hours of joy its brought have totally been worth it. Dig deep and go for it!! Liam Reynolds -
Got to be worth a look tho... I have a 970 on win 10. Thanks for the idea. Liam Reynolds

well i had replied, but some how, back space took me back 3 pages and removed everything i had typed... Sigh. Right, Downscc. Thanks for coming back to me, appreciate you reaching out. i am sorry to say that i do not use the Left DU pop up (assuming you mean the very left screen where the Speed, FMA, FD bars and AOA information is all presented? I picked that gem up on the PMDG forums a while back when i first started to have these issues I didn't know what was causing the crash at the time, (before i found out about event logs in Win10). so did it as a matter of course in case this was the issue I was having. before i had found out what the issue actually was, i regreatably removed all my programs deleted the files and reinstalled everything that i had bought since october (being a new build pc specifically for Prepard) when i started to put everything back i flew each time i installed something, my first issue was after i had installed Opus FSI(used the camera function). so since then i have stopped using it. it had been fairly stable with only the occasional random unexplained crash (not VAS). having seen the list for 3.2 and its bug fixes i hoped that the problems i was having on my system were done and i would be able to just get on with flying, but alas, it seems not. I'm all up for a workaround, just like in the real world, fix it with speed tape and send it on its way as serviceable!! Guess ill get up in the air and go again, report back if I have any further info. Yes sir. It is how I've always done this, via add and remove, and then remove all LM P3D apps. I have posted on the thread that is running there also. Liam Reynolds

I have just had it on 3.2, so as far as i can see the issue is still around, i have only just found out about log viewer, so who knows how many times iv had it. But 3 hours into a flight with my Trip 7 i get a CTD... Tired of this now, i just want to fly... like i did in FS9... QualityWings – 757 P3D v3 Installer Released.
Lairyliam replied to JLuis's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Iv today installed both the 146 and the 757 into p3d v3.1 iv hit some hurdles, but all in all its working well thus far. The above 146 regedit to use livery installer. i'v regedit the 757 and created a dll called slimfx.dll in p3d main for the 757 (Tutorial: ) and I have had to install a font called latha so the 757 FMC works properly. seems ok so far, - oh and when you load the 146/RJ just let it sit for a min or so, the flaps seem to work when you let it sit (I read that somewhere on these boards today) the only thing I need to find a work around for is both planes seem to want to crawl when at idle, its not a deal breaker, a small price to pay to actually fly the aircraft that's been nothing more than a couple of files on a hard drive for a long time! ( I'm yet to google this, I just want to fly it at the mo.) Liam Reynolds -

Been away for a while, but out of interest when was the last new FULL release of a PMDG aircraft? Liam Reynolds -
purly as a question. Do you run any other programs running or only your sim?? I have an issue and I think I may have found the culprit. and it isn't any of my aircraft! Liam Reynolds.

Future Development Timeline Speculation...
Lairyliam replied to Bandselect's topic in PMDG General Forum
This is PMDG we are talking about... The NGX is probably finished (in my opinion). My money for the next 73' release will be a 73-MAX, (updates don't generate cash. new releases do!!) I dream of a 75' but I probably got shot down in 2003 for asking that question... and I sure as'ell now that it will be the same answer in 2016. It is what it is, and it will happen when it happens!!!! Liam Reynolds -
I kind of thought it wouldn't be, as IIRC older aircraft would just place Fix 1 fix 2 into the FMC. It was a nagging thought so figured I would check just in case. There is an event Viewer... Huh. I shall take a look at google now and try and find it. Cheers. Tho I have reinstalled now, currently at 370 on test flight number one on a new 3.1 install with nothing but the trip 7 installed.
