  1. Thanks...and will do that...other than that...once airborne, I pretty much stay in the 'green' at 30 fps. Will report what I find out, regarding fps tanked by half, (on the ground), and the Main Thread at 45-50 ms shown.
  2. Two major issues since update. 1. MSFS will not shut down...it hangs, and I have to use the Task Manager to kill it. 2. At any airport the Main Thread now runs at 45 MS....showing total red. As soon as I get airborne, it drops to 20 MS. Never had that before...and my FPS at an airport just tanks...with that 45 MS on the Main Thread. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?
  3. Had my first run, and when wanting to exit MSFS, the blue bar went to full right and the sim just sat there, had to you Task Manger. Anybody seen this?
  4. AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator\LocalCache\UserCfg.opt
  5. You're quite welcome. This was brought out about more than a year ago, but I thought to bring it up again, as some mostly likely forgot about turning this off, or had never even heard (new users) that one could... If someone is viewing at 3.5 to over 4K resolution, the difference in graphics quality is for me, night and day, and I have as some say, very old eyes, and I can certainly see the difference between Sharpen 1 and Sharpen 0. David, please remember to check this setting once and awhile, with MSFS's propensity to change things YOU didn't not try to. Also, after every update, just assume that PostProcess/Sharpen is set back to 1 and therefore will need to be manually turned off with '0' again, if that is the way you prefer the UserOpt.cfg setting as 'your' default. It certainly is mine. 🙂
  6. I have MSFS also installed on another drive other than 'C'. It's easy to find the file. If you can find your Community Folder, just back out of that folder two times, and you will be at your view where it will be at the bottom of the folders. So, find your Community Folder, and then back out of that folder two times...and there you go...UserCfg.opt is there in front of you. AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulato\LocalCache\UserCfg.opt
  7. It takes only less than a minute to call up the .cfg file to make sure it has not 'auto-changed back to Sharpen 1. Also, it usually does after every type of update. As soon as I update, I go and place a '0' once more.
  8. I garner that you will be very pleased with Sharpen (as 0 'off'!) To my view, with default PostProcess Sharpen as on, it looks like my monitor is composed of micro-sand colored silica.
  9. Same for me, at just under 4K. The entire sim looks like micro-sand silica colored particles. You take that away, and the scene is awesome!
  10. Mine does not, so it could be you are looking at the setting for VR. The one I am typing about, is very close to the TOP of the .cfg file. Slowly move down and you will see the PostProcess grouping. Fourth down in that grouping...is the one and the only one you would switch between the default 1 and to turn it off by placing a 0 and then SAVE in NotePad ++
  11. I'm running just under 4K...and for myself, the difference is huge! 🙂 Gone is the grain...and just well blended textures, especially at the higher ground texture resolution when running in 'G' mode....
  12. You need to restart, as you make the change from the DeskTop. Actually, you don't make the change with the program running, so, always edit, what you want and then run MSFS.
  13. In this case Gerald, being that you would be looking at a live, (your screen) critique, a picture with any internet down processing would not be helpful. Trust me, that the one little edit, (which can be returned to default in a minute) is a 100 percent improvement in the world view. Night and day, over default. I suggest that for the minute it takes to open the file, change from 1 to 0, and then go fly...I would gamble that NOBODY (LOL) would continue with Sharpen as 'on/1' ever more. The change is that good...but...as I said, the judgement for this must come from the user's monitor, and not a compressed picture, Gerald. If you decide to check my User Tip out...post back, and let me know what you think, Sharpen 'on' and Sharpen 'off'. My dollars, say that you will never again have it as on. BTW, after any update, you need to check that again, as most times, it will be turned back to Sharpen 1 after an update. One minute to access the file...swap out the 1 for a 0, press SAVE, and you are back in the Gorgeous View 'saddle'....
  14. Some do not know, that MSFS has a Post Process 'Video Sharpen' feature turned on by default. This will lead to a 'grainy' look to your simulation. To turn this default off, do the following: Open your BASE FOLDER location for MSFS, and at the bottom you will see a file called: UserCfg.opt Use Notepad ++ to open file. Once open, scroll down to PostProcess In that range, the fourth heading will be Sharpen 1 Make that 1 to a 0, and then press save in Notepad ++ You are done, and can close Notepad ++ I'm sure that the next run of MSFS for you, will be a much more beautiful screen rendition, of the graphics. To turn Sharpen back on...merely go back and enter a 1 where you put a 0, of you prefer the look as default. Press Notepad ++ SAVE and you are back to a default view for this Post Process setting.
  15. The greatest complaint regarding P3D v5.3 comes from my wife...and the complaint is since it was released, my 'Honey DO!' list is growing....and she is quite very unsatisfied about v5.3 for that singular reason....
  16. I haven't tried the 'B' inside the app, but with your comment, I might just give that try as well!, to see any difference in mapping between native B and injection app 'B'! 🙂
  17. Upon conviction, a $100,000.00 fine USD, and up to 90 years in prison, without being able to have a computer system in your cell.... 😉
  18. Yeah, I know...I almost slipped....."shhhhhhhh"!!!!!! LOL! I have done many (maybe too many, lol) A/B 'G' and Bing same flight same outside view comparison, and very much concentrated in the wonderful state of Michigan...and personally feel that 'G' as a letter, is vastly superior to 'B'....lol. Just my personal take, and enjoyment thereof. The roads, are so much better defined, with actual lane lines, as well as some pot holes, oil and wear marks, and in some cases, traffic (car and truck, motorcycle, RV) imprints upon them, which looks good, even with A.I. running above. There are plenty of secondary and tertiary roads that are barely covered by A.I. (many farm and country/county roads...but with some Mr. 'G' imprinting, looks very good at 2,800 and above...looks 'alive' and used. Hey...people actually live at those rural properties...! 🙂 Cheers n' Beers
  19. I do not use an internal CACHE of any kind. That statement put out, and while I wish to use and enjoy MSFS in a 'G' scenery config, I noticed that the much better and colored roads, ---->highway, secondary, tertiary, had a weird mixture of the much better looking (with lane lines and oil spots, car truck imprints) of 'G', over Bing (native) with its thin cream colored lanes and not the concrete/asphalt colors of my 'G' config.... I had roadways and highways that had segments of the native BING roadway graphics and textures included with the 'G' textures. Since I know that you can get this, if you have any sort of a CACHE set up, or switch back and forth between BING native, and 'G'. I don't...but, still had a mixture of roadway (and other ground textures intermixed. So, on a hunch, as we have seen that updates can mess around with internal coding, and cause anomalies that you did not expect, (with your in sim settings not altered), I went to where you find the SCENERY CACHE settings and even though my settings showed NO CACHE, and a setting of '0'. I still used the DELETE button on the CACHE. It said one moment, and then the whatever 'OK'... Remember, that I had no CACHE setting and it in the sim showed my setting of a 0 CACHE (not enabled!). I fired up my FBO, where I KNEW, there was going to be a mixture of the BING and 'G' roadway textures...flew over that section of the Interstate, and HUZZAH....only uninterrupted 'G" roadways and their appropriate textures now displayed. I flew over a city section of the 'burb, and they now were fully and only 'G' visuals. So, as we have seen, there are some weird (sneaky) bugs that although your settings are this way and that...the actual MSFS can be injecting 'stuff' you are not wishing to have called upon. So I suggest if you are using MSFS in the 'G' format, or you sometimes switch back and forth and you have your CACHE settings not enabled...I recommend that you STILL use the DELETE button, as that will clean up, what I will call 'a scenery depiction bug'. After I did that...I then only had a 'pure' 'G' depiction up there on the monitor! Cheers,
  20. Here is three shots of just having come in to St.Bart's with St.Bart's Enhanced Scenery installed. The wave action is being set up by Real Weather today, and same for cloudscapes in the area. W Update has been a real asset, no bogies...and just sheer performance and fun! With all the enhanced shallow sea water....it's truly starting to look more R.W. with every update. Finally I feel that the updates are all steps forward, in the dance...
  21. So it seems that nobody else is using Xenviro. Ok...I bought it a few years ago, and downloaded the latest version, and the key/serial number for it off of my account. In the Activate Box that comes up, you need to put your email address and then the serial/key and then press ENTER, or whatever the 'do it' box is called. Doing that...the box closes and nothing happens, no further info saying XEnviro has been activated, and when you next try to use the XEnviro menu, the same (only) ACTIVATE box comes up. No virus program is blocking the (should be) send/receive. I can only think that there is no Server Service on their site. Oh well...at least I didn't buy it just today to own it...
