  1. Paul...not only got back all my lost ground-taxi-approach near touchdown...but even got another 2 FPS that I have NEVER had, ..could never sustain over 30 fps...but now...on the ground at 29-30/32...and in the air (on average) at 32 (max!) How in the WORLD, can someone even start to think or figure out that this FPS tanking could be Photogram Cities for goodness sakes? Some pretty savvy people are running around the flight sim world...that's for sure! Yep, this 'solution' is killer...:) Thumb's up...and a happy holler 'n hoot! By the way, all this FPS improvement with not one option changed with my normal MSFS usage preferences, ONLY, deleting those 7 Photo-Gram cities, only that. After doing so...I dumped to the Desktop and then re-ran MSFS so just to be sure, that anything from those cities was purged from Memory, on my next MSFS run.... Ses
  2. I had the latest update...and still had tanked ground taxi and final approach (near touch down), but this morning with deleting those seven Photogram cities...wham bam...back to not only my pre-SU9 ground/near-touch down FPS, but even am now getting two more FPS, to 32 FPS, which at running MSFS at Ultra (plus), (with my system metrics) is full max FPS output...so nothing holding back my FPS, since deleting those cities from the sim....!
  3. Wow! Deleting those 7 photogram cities more than did the trick with my tanked ground running FPS. I got back not only my normal 27-30 FPS, but now in most places am running at 32 FPS...the highest I have ever had on my system at ground taxi, and final approach. Thanks...whatever the Main Thread conflicts is going on with these photo cities...deleting them, has given me back all my pre-SU9 ground and approach FPS performance. Paul...try this...and your results should be the same as mine... This suggestion---->WORKS!
  4. I can certainly try that...and will. Thanks' Odourboy. I still want to leave my Terrain LOD at 200...so will try this first!
  5. "Noted, sir..." Enjoy the flights..., and we'll hope Hendrik can attend to this visual cluster-F....lol.
  6. When the SU9 was dropped, I had/have the exact same experience that you have, Paul. I also had 28-30 FPS on the ground, at taxi...but now at those same airports....12-15 FPS. Within 500 feet off the ground, wham bam, 30 FPS. It seems to be a Main Thread issue, ( can watch the Main Thread Bar be full red, to red/yellow at taxi...and then at around 500 feet off the ground...and leaving (obviously) the airport behind, the Main Thread goes from red/yellow, to full yellow, and then to green. Always...so something is conflicting when on the ground at airports, using SU9 that is within the realm of running on the Main Thread pipeline. Check this out yourself and you will see the exact same thing regarding the 'load' pressure upon the Main Thread pipeline...
  7. For myself not seeking 'blame' at all...just hoping that Hendrik now knows about it...with my two snap examples and will figure out his response to getting wakes to properly display. Da's all, folks! 🙂
  8. So you folks are seeing this too...ok...I guess Hendrik will investigate this and get out a fix. Just wanted to know if it was also out there for others, or was just my system, etc... Thanks for responding to let me know! Post Edit: also forgot to mention that I now have some ships that had prior wakes, that wakes no longer appear, as it was before Hendrik started to try and get wakes to appear and such. Something definitely has gone amiss.... Cheers!
  9. Using Hendrik's latest Beta...all the wake trails are 1,000 feet to either side of the ship...and 500 feet behind the stern...they do not line up right behind the stern. Anybody else seeing this?
  10. I read your post and then immediately went to the Microsoft Store ..and pressed the UPDATE button. It indeed updated MSFS...so go there first, and after that...on your next run of MSFS it will update whatever this is...
  11. On my system, just GREAT snake oil...(LOL) the best! 🙂 Worked for me...!!!
  12. Not really...but's among the suggestions the vid producer suggested. I'd just say, go through the vid, and change what he suggests to his settings, and you will get the result you seek. I did...
  13. Had sharpen as off...still had bad cloud pix...changed to what he suggested in the Driver Suite...and poof...gone...
  14. I agree! Thanks, Gerald! I was not aware this YouTube post existed. Applying it, was day and night...especially the clouds, and the Color Gradient suggestion setting for the MSFS.cfg . That brought (putting it to 0/off) the ground terrain to look truly real world, and not color saturated (cartoonish). That was a 'biggy' for me too! 🙂
  15. I changed all of my prior driver settings to only his recommendations and my results were 3 more FPS, at all my Ultra (Plus/Overdrive) in-sim settings (unchanged) and clouds that now look like the four post change snaps I took earlier on this thread (page two). That also includes the recommendations to change some features on/off in the MSFS.cfg file itself. For myself, 10 percent more FPS, and of course visually that one can see right off, are great looking clouds. My cloud tendril pixilation was quite bad, but thought I just had to live with it, being (wrongly assumed) that is was an MSFS SU9 internal issue.
  16. I think you will enjoy the result of what you see, after installing... 🙂
  17. I think it only took me about 20 minutes from the start of the vid with STOPS, to the end...and that included then going to my MSFS.cfg file and changing all that content, towards the end part of his vid... Pressed SAVE, fired up SU9, and viola(!) just some great visuals...and all the settings (his) a keeper/sleeper!
  18. To be honest, as I type this reply, ...I can't remember which one he advised to change from/to. I'd suggest that you just watch the whole vid at a reduced 2/3's window...and have your nVidia Mask open and what I did, was as he explained and changed each setting...(option), I paused the vid...did the change, and went back to this vid. Stop...change, start, stop, change...until the vid was over. But it (his recommended driver settings) sure does eliminate all cloud pixilation and he was right...it's the DRIVER settings one has...and not a graphic flaw/bug/problem within MSFS SU9. As you could see in my four snaps...my clouds now are truly real world...and quite fabulous! Very happy Camper...
  19. Yep...now flying this afternoon over the Land of Oz...and the clouds now, in SU9 with this chap's recommended DRIVER settings...is/are quite fabulous...no longer any crappy looking piliation(s) running at Ultra...take a look at the four snaps I just did...and you won't see any..., and, before I changed to his settings...well...I just thought it was SU9. I wonder now...how many other things have I thought and other's have thought in lousy rendering/performance that we gave the bad rap to MSFS (whatever iteration) and it was all the time, the varied settings we had driving our drivers, and the driver suite we were using....and placing the 'rap' at the feet of MSFS! Learned that lesson today, post his driver recommendations!
  20. The YouTube'er (the vid creator...) spoke during his explanation of his settings on the topic of cloud pixilation running Ultra. I indeed had that...but with following his recommendations and setting them...no more Ultra setting cloud pixilation. Here is the result of his settings at 5,000 feet coming in from the Gold Coast, heading West...(interior...) It isn't SU9 that is creating any cloud (horrible!) pixilation's (at Ultra)...it is your DRIVER settings, that is rendering that!
  21. I followed this chap's advice for all his nVidia Mask settings, and that gave me, on the next MSFS SU9 run (including his MSFS.cfg recommendations) an extra 3 FPS. I know that doesn't sound like much, but with my max around 30 FPS, that for myself is a healthy 10 percent gain, for only setting all his recommendations to my mask. Everybody's FPS mileage will of course vary...but for a 10 percent FPS hike...most appreciated. Will stay with these settings until somebody discovers something even more 'pedal to the metal'.... 🙂
  22. The 'in sim' BING maps (internal MSFS pipeline) are outdated. Yes...and using the Map Enhancement App, brings onboard into the sim, the latest BING maps from that entity. Yes...so still from Bing...but not from the MS (in sim pipeline) server source, but from the actual BING server itself. That is what this 3rp App does...and bypasses whatever pipeline BING comes from through only MSFS. If you'd like to try this....run the app, and then under MAPS, bullet-highlight BING, and away you go...and you will always have the latest and greatest from BING or Google, (your choice) when they upgrade their Servers with new updated content and sources. A fabulous App...and wouldn't fly without it!
  23. https://flightsim.to/file/19345/msfs-2020-google-map-replacement I have used all the MAP choices, but find for color/sequential tile season, this n' that...that the latest BING mapping (for myself) to be the map-of-personal-choice.
  24. I know..(smile) the thread got a little highjacked...but that happens.
  25. Then I think your system might have jumbled up a few files, that fools MSFS to thinking you have yet not upgraded to SU9. It happens, usually during MSFS shutdown, or when Windows shuts down, and some open files attempt to write out. I'd just let it 'install' again and write (overwrite) whatever muffed files were there already perhaps....
