  1. Thanks for that tip. I still fire up P3D and XP, as they still provide (for myself) elements that I call the Flight Sim Trifecta (smile). For visuals, though...that suspends 'sitting in front of a computer monitor'...hand's down...it is the current iteration of MSFS and...Map Enhancement, with my preferred map...BING (Newest and current).
  2. Yep...we all have a right to change our minds...as events of use, and other realizations also change. 🙂
  3. My sentiments, exactly! Today's flight between KSAN and KOAK, 'cemented' the suspended belief that I was NOT flying in my favorite window seat....man...I was THERE! 🙂
  4. Very slow process...very slow....but, I would try to load in an airport (for instance, KZB, Zachar Bay) and it would only load (blue load bar) to 40 percent then SU9 would simply hang. Finished... Had to Task out of it. I'd look at what I had for Alaska...(custom add on's...) and would start pulling one folder after another, after starting to try to load out the aforementioned. I'd keep pulling out, non-essentials, until I loaded in. I then added back everything but what stopped me from loading in. If I could add everything, back, (other than the one identified offender) I would, but if I could not load out once more...that folder of my attention, would be pulled again, and deleted. So, that was the very slow and long process at my end. The final result is a very great running SU9/Enhanced Map/Newest BING, and I'm pretty happy about the end result. Truly, I am flying now, 'over the real deal', at Ultra Plus, at 30 FPS.
  5. Over the last many weeks, since the latest SU9 version, I have been 'grooming' SU9's Community Folder, deleting files that were conflicting, with SU9's performance, or were in fact locking SU9 up, preventing a load out to my selected airport, world-wide. I have succeeded pretty much with that effort, to have very smooth 30 'ish FPS for most scenes, and scenarios...as well as no CTD's or no refusal to 'load bar' fully to the right and then into my chosen airport/situation. So that is very good! What I really wanted to post today, was that truly, truly...all hyperbole aside, (as I for real life, travel by air a lot between San Diego, and Oakland, California for business, and know the FL 'view' as I fly along the coast, like the back of my hand...the fields at FL340/350, mountain ranges, coastal installations, roads/freeway infrastructure...etc...truly as I flew in the Max 737 (in MSFS SU9/Enhanced MAP (BING), (on Auto Pilot A.I.) so I could act with a mental view, as a passenger from departure taxi, to taxi to the gate in Oakland (KOAK), I can say now, since my starting with flight simulation...in '82...(Atari...Commodore...IBM 386...etc...) I have in front of me, on screen, TRUE LIFE VISUALS (!) ..absolutely the 'real visual deal' below the wing, with the MSFS Enhanced App, running the latest BING maps (newest). I was just slack jawed this afternoon, as my mind, had no problem whatsoever, to make me feel that I was INDEED, at FL350, over the coast of California...heading from San Diego, to Oakland... It wasn't merely real....it WAS real...for everything that I remember with my most recent business flight, was there...I was flying over it...as it was in Real Life. I guess that I can so happily say...that what I had been hoping for for YEARS....ever since flight simulation was introduced into my Den...is that I (other than KNOWING that I am sitting in front of a computer monitor...) am truly flying now, over the 'real world'...and no other simulator on my system can offer now, what I have presently with MSFS SU9 supplying the visuals...whether at 2,800 feet, or any of the FL's... Today, I say, that I have 'arrived' at the gate...that gate that I was waiting to taxi up to, for 44 years. I have finally arrived at my flight simulation visual-arrival 'gate'... 🙂 Ses
  6. I saw a video of the actual jet seconds before it crashed into the mountainside. I have never seen a video like that, of a commercial airliner absolutely vertical (and they say, projected to be at the speed of sound, before impact. The only thing I can think of, that would not allow the flight crew to even descend with glide, (no engines) would be no ability to control the back end (tail of the aircraft). If a wing had separated, it would have come down in a spiral motion...so that wasn't it. To plunge from 20,000 feet, vertical...again, to me, suggests a loss of the tail? Horrible...
  7. I'm asking about three settings, and although I have tried them...I would like to fully understand their intent, if activated: Dynamic Texture Streaming Variable Rate Refresh Motion Blur. I tried looking them up, but there is no true 'why' and 'where for' for use of any or all three individual settings. So, can anybody give me a general overview of each setting, and why one would want to, or not want to use them to give better texture clarity and update, as well as smoother FPS (animation). Thanks, will be looking forward to any replies on thread... 🙂
  8. This worked wonders on my system, for all my flight sims...smooth performance in all, and great FPS retention/performance
  9. DJ, update 7...no problems with (on ground...) Main Thread readout's in the yellow and green. Update 8. Reboot, nothing changed in sim settings between the two. On ground at airport(s), Main Thread RED, 50-145 ms, (with all same in Com Folder with U7. Removed everything in Com Folder, U8...still on ground at airport tanked FPS, 50-45 ms. As soon as I take off, at around 500 feet...Main Thread goes yellow/green, with ms at 25-32. Something is buggered when your plane is on the ground, whereby other's are now saying they have bad stuttering since the update at ground level...when moving, panning, taxi...so something quite evident has been injected into the sim, by U8. For me...too much of an immersion killer to be slide show at taxi, and landing. Will check out U9 of course, to see if whatever has now been introduced into MSFS by U8, has been 'corrected'.
  10. Ok...had my say....finished my MSFS coffee, and will be back after MSFS Update 9 is ready to shove into it... 🙂 Closing door, turning out light...but will still drive by the building to make sure there are no break ins...LOLOLOLOL!
  11. Right...Sierra...that's why you just posted to another thread...on your list...what a crock! LOLOL
  12. Uh uh...that would not be me, stating back to MSFS...lol! It might be another Mitch...lol. Anyways...too much frustration for me now from one update cycle to the next, from one, fixed that, now buggererd this....fix, bugger, fix, bugger, fix, bugger....at my age, I hope TO BE HERE, in 10 years...let alone it 'finally' being seen as a RTM release! LOL!
  13. Nope...haven't fired it up this morning....still in the forum to finish off my coffee, LOL!
  14. Bob, lol, I already said that it would not...LOL! Enjoy...
  15. I agree....totally.....don't want to deal with this anymore...yawn, you're right! Cheers! Mitch'er
  16. Right, as I said...now for me, a curiosity that will have me check out the latest update...see what's fixed, see what just got tanked, and then sip my coffee and fire up, any other flight sim, lol. The new plan moving forward from today...(smile). Cheers!
  17. It is a 10 year project Beta Flight Simulator Platform, whereby you pay to have access to it, and it is merely a curiosity. With each developer update over that stated 10 year outlook, you come back to it, after an update, and see what's fixed from the last update cycle, see what's now buggered, and then shut down, and move back to a more stable and mature flight simulator platform. For myself, at least, that would be P3D. With this latest SU8, that has again put my MSFS into a state of (on my system) in 'Buggered Mode', that's what I now again need to do....go back to a flight sim, that is stable, and I know will run and perform, without holding my breath while doing so. So, waiting for the next Beta Run...SU9, to fix what is now buggered in SU8., (Main Thread (with nothing in the Community Folder!) on the ground running at a bogging 45-150 ms, and tanked FPS, and on, and on, and on, over the next 10 years of the Beta Run. I won't let the door smack my butt on the way out, so nobody has to worry about that...I'll be careful to turn out the lights as well...lol! Ses
  18. Yeah...something is TANKED with SU8. I have nothing in my Community Folder...and on the ground, any airport...or basically on the ground...my Main Thread is tanked at 50-148 MS...with single digit FPS. As soon as I leave the ground and take off....my Main Thread goes to yellow/green at 30 FPS, but if on ground...(with nothing in my Com folder..) the Main Thread runs up to 50-60 MS... Something is really wrong with the SU8 release!
  19. ...and I can no longer end and exit the program...it just hangs and freezes, until I end it with Task Manager.
