BlackBox BN2 Islander
I finally found the tablet next to pilots left leg. Am told by internet the switch to turn on the TDS GTN 750 should be there somewhere but nowhere to be found. Anyone know how to turn it on! I have installed the TDS patch from blackbox and it is in my community folder. Using MSFS 2020. Thank you. Only the PMS50 GTN works.

Simconnect Client Install
Hi Jim, Queried you years ago with original AS's. Back on with FSX after long time. Did all the above 3 installs on my client laptop, ASN working well on desktop with FSX installed. Keep getting error when I open ASN on client "ASN was not able to install/modify the ASConnect module. Please manually install ASConnect into your Simulator." See users guide for more info. Can't find how to! Then ASN keeps going until this error "A valid Simconnect managed version was not found to be correctly installed on this system. You must have SP2 Simconnect Client installed to sue FSX mode with ASN." How do I do that? Please help. Thanks, Robert

Do you map the button through the options setup or do you have to modify the controls.cfg file manually, thanks!

PFD black, autopilot buttons don't work
Finally, my note to Ryan of PMDG support this am...."Ryan my man! Last thing I did last night, went into the PMDG menu on top of FS9 window, clicked on General, Styles, and the PFD/on radio button was not ticked, I ticked it and voila, PFD, autopilot and everything else works. Ahhhhh... Why isn't that on as default and why didn't you suggest I ck that. Anyway, thanks for your interest and help. hope this may all help someone in the future! Flies well, 6 FPS with VC, heavy weather and FSINN on. Not bad, will enjoy this. Take care.Robert"Really nice product, finally, love the FMC.Robert

PMDG 737-700 FS9 win xp, crash to desktop
Just bought and installed the 737 600/700 series. Installed went smooth. When I select any of the PMDG 737's when I click Fly Now, causes FS9 to crash to desktop or if I load another plane then try to switch it freezes my sim and I have to restart. Have 177 other free and payware planes that work well. Resolution is 1600x 1200 32 bit, GTS8600 Nvidia, 2 gb RAM. Thanks for any help, anxious to use it! I also have PMDG B1900 for years works well still.Robert

FS9 and tile proxy
Read the instructions from the tileproxy website, edited and put the ProxyUser.ini file where instructed. Created TProxy on separate drive from FS9. Started TP, started FS9 waited 20 minutes. Cache.cache3 folder created in my TProxy folder on separate drive. Loaded a flight starting at my local airport K13 in USA and waited another 20 min. Status bar seemed to go as fast as usual with no pauses, only my usual FS9/UTUSA textures seem to be there?I have a pentium core 2 duo, windows xp system. In addition I notice in the Start TileProxy window at top it says-Proxy User Individual Tile Accesses 0, 0.0 per second, 13808 preloadedThe tileproxy window shows 4 of the six circles fill with x's as the flight loads. My scenery.cfg has the TP world folder added, and if I go to the scenery add in FS9 all the TP world folders are on top of everything else with red X's. I have tried un and re installing as advised, I tried fooling into not preloading, always the same thing.Any help appreciated. Thanks, Robert

Ground textures and trees still visible even with low v...
drskyking replied to drskyking's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumCan you explain what that means please? Sitting on the ground everything looks dismal but as soon as I start to climb all ground and autogen textures show up and abruptly stop in distance. Never saw anything like this.. Thanks again. My Asv6 giving me all I want now. Thanks to you!

Ground textures and trees still visible even with low v...
I am trying to help a friend set up his FS9 and was bragging about asv6 which he is ready to buy. Before he does anything though his sim gives him awful low vis realism! With his setup this is a shot of what we get with 1/2 mile vis 1000 foot ceiling and we are 2000 agl using stock fs9 weather.Compaq presario, amd xp 2600, Radeon 9200, RAM 1 gb, FS9.1, antialiasing off in game, 4x in ATI setup, trilinear filtering on in FS9. I never saw anything like this. Any suggestions as what he and I are doing wrong. He has 1.2 gig of virtual mem too. Thanks!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/139078.jpg

drskyking replied to drskyking's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim- I agree, something else must be going on. I think this must fall back to an FS9 problem. We discussed this when ASV came out. Last night I started fs9 all by itself, cleared all weather, then using the FS9 advanced weather menu, set a 600 foot AGL, 3000 foot thick solid stratus OVC at KALB (and the world I think). It looked great from the ground, nice solid low layer, as I climbed through 600 AGL got into wispy thin looking stratus and could see the ground and forward 5-10 miles, vis was 10 miles, till I got to 3600 feet, just above the layer, then I couldn't see the ground through a solid stratus looking OVC. As I descended back through, as I got to about 3000 in the layer ground again visible. Turned vis down to 2 miles then better but could still see the ground straight down. Is there a way somehow to have ASv6 automatically drop vis to about 1/2 mile when entering 7/8 BKN or OVC conditions to simulate the near 0 vis in these conditions, then have it better above and below the layer? Just a thought. Thanks again. Also, I had FSInn weather turned off. Just used VATSIM weather with updates through the ASv6 interface.

drskyking replied to drskyking's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim- Just flew in from KPIT to KALB a couple hours ago, tops 8000 or so all the way, solid OVC at KALB 4000 AGL. Booted up the sim with the above changes and this is what I still get. Is there any other way to get a solid stratus layer?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/138085.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/138083.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/138084.jpgThanks again for all the suggestions..

drskyking replied to drskyking's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim- Do the settings seem OK? You can see the OVC and how thin it is. How does ASv6 know how thick to make the layer? Is there a way I can use different settings with ASG to thicken the layer? Thanks so much again. Still is awesome what you all have done.Specs-2.5 GHz, Nvidia6800GT, 1 gB RAM, Pent IV, windows XP. Frames locked at 20.Take care!

drskyking replied to drskyking's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim- This is making me nuts. I woke up today to low ovc at my home base, KSCH, METAR 8 mi, sn, OVC 500, KALB 8 miles away, 5 mi, OVC 800 at 1300Z today. Unchecked choose cumulus over stratus and force lowest layer. Fired up FS9 cleared all weather, fired up ASv6, refreshed, waited 10 minutes. Looked like nice low OVC at KSCH, as I climbed through 500 AGL, hit a wispy thin 1-200 foot see through layer of what looked like stratus and even up to 4000 AGL could still see the ground every where. Flew over to ALB (stayed within 8 miles)and same thing, at 1600 feet MSL, airport 240 MSL, on the ILS19 had full view of the ground and the airport from 6,4,2,1 miles north of the field. OVC enhancement also on. 3D clouds 100%, detailed clouds 100%, sight and draw 59 miles. I want so much to simulate nice solid low OVC to practice my IFR procedures once or twice a week. Any other ideas. I have some pics I'll post tonight, not at my home PC. Thanks again!SEL,IFR,COM

drskyking replied to drskyking's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJust read the highlight that comes with the force lowest ceiling box. I see where that would stop showing the upper layers. Thanks, there is so much to this in all the detail!
