  1. Thanks Patrick - but that wasn''t what I was asking about - I wanted to know how to uninstall Simconnect.msi on the client machine.
  2. Dave - how did you uninstall Simconnect.msi please? I eventually gave up trying to get Simconnect to work on my client machine during beta testing. Maybe that's the answer for me too. Thanks
  3. I had a similar problem losing FSUIPC via the Add ons menu when I first used SimConnect over a network. The problem was traced to the fact that the the Simconnect.xml file needed to show global instead of local and then reinstall FSUIPC which adds another section to the xml file. This may work for you too.
  4. I've managed to completely break simconnect so that it won't now operate over my network. Simconnect works fine on my Server machine.I had an issue and thought to replace my version of simconnect.dll by deleting it and running the FSX Repair option. Shock horror when I discovered that all I had was the simconnect folder and dll for the SP1 file and not the earlier one.Is my best option to delete all the simconnect registry entries - uninstall FSX etc and reinstall please? My reason for asking is that have uninstalled FSX and removed all the 3rd party stuff, and reinstalled then SP1 - the original dll folder was not put into the C:WINDOWSWinSxS folder at all.Checking the registry I could see that the simconnect entries appear in 'pairs' one obviously for the new one and one for the older original version.I thought I'd cheat by copying the new version and used the entries in the registry to reconstruct the original folder - I also acquired a copy of the original dll file too.Sadly none of that worked for me.I'm not a techie - so any answers will need to be in simple terms please. Thanks in advance.
  5. Some time ago PC Pilot ran a review of VoxATC and added that a new version costing about
  6. This might be of some limited help in the future when you upgrade your PC. I kept my old machine and use RC with WideFS on the 'old' machine into which I plug my headset - now my RC ATC volume is completely independant of FS sounds which I have coming out of my speakers.
  7. ...and maybe a few more female voices too? We've only got 2 - a female Irish voice would be just perfect :)
  8. I confess that I got very excited about VoxATC when I 1st read about it in PC Pilot - they even had the 7 day demo on their dvd with the March/April issue, but then I realised that there were limitations - ie only 2 voices to begin with, and that there is/was another version in the pipeline costing
  9. UNC? Google it and although probably not a great deal of help but it made sense to me:http://www.uwplatt.edu/oit/terms/uncpath.html
  10. I'm pretty certain your answer will be found in the comprehensive teadme for version 4.3 here.http://www.jdtllc.com/v4/notes%20for%204.3.txtCertainly when I set up my network for the first time (being a total newbie/virgin to networks) the readme was spot on and RC worked beautifully in both FSX and FS9.
  11. Will the newer version have thingumies and whatsits I wonder :)
  12. Hi AdyI really don't have an answer for that at all. It might be a good idea if you can email me your 2 ini files (arrivals and departures) and I'll check them out.
  13. Just wondering how many more files there are to come in this series (not that I've downloaded any), but as the number is approaching 300 downloads I cannot imagine how large a HDD one would need to run it.I think AVSIM may have to consider a server upgrade if everyone starts down this road :)
  14. Only a matter of time before they rename them SIDPs.
  15. jd's slipping there- took him all of 2 minutes to respond :)
  16. Hi JamesIt's not quite as simple as just adding an airline, as the voice callsign would (presumably) also need to be added. If it doesn't exist then the chances are that you're stuck. I managed to add a number of 'missing' callsigns - mostly fro UK traffic - by editing and mixing wav files from those already recorded for all of the pilots and controllers, but it is a long and tedious job.So to answer your question, yes, it IS possible, but perhaps not quite as easy as you might think. If you'd like to email me grajay -at- onetel.net I might be able to help you out - no promises mind, but I'll see what I can do. Also your requested airline may already be one that's in the pipeline for recording for RC5.
  17. Look forward to hearing that Chris. Perhaps you can get the person doing the cabin bried to record it for us too ?? :)
  18. My apologies - the button to stop the recording is the square one - the circular one it to replay the file you just recorded. The program puts the wav files in the appropriate pilotscripts or controllerscripts directory (where the txt files are located). As the utility is installed with RC4 it looks for a directory called 'scriptcontrollerscripts' or 'scriptpilotscripts' depending in which option you chose to record.
  19. There is already a brilliant utility supplied with RC4 called RCWavUtil.exe. If you run this it will give you options to record voice sets - controller or pilot. Just experiment with it. The arrow button is the record and the round blob is the stop button - say the word in the window and when you press stop the next word/phrase will appear. The file is saved with the correct name in the apporpriate script folder. It's what I did, and then I did the same with the FS2Crew Level-D 767 version so now when I fly the Level-D I have the best of all worlds - me talking to ATC and interracting on the flight deck.Hope that helps.
  20. Managed to fix it - seems like there wasn't really a problem at all :)
  21. Stupidly I can't recall where I read that others had this problem - I did a search (honest!!) but cannot now find the post.If anyone has had this problem - ie FS9 starts up and (in my case initially rebuilt the scenery database etc )after a couple of minutes of HDD activity it just hangs there at the splash screen - no progress bar is shown like it used to to either. FSX of course runs OK. If there's a fix I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.
