  1. I have just come from reading the Forum Alert regarding false identities on Avsim. I'm wondering if people, like myself could invite Avsim to check their identities and add that ' Status' to our Avatar/Visible Info once logged in. Would other genuine members' of this Community, support this recommendation? It would at least let other people know that I am who I say I am and it gives me a 'heads-up' that I might be talking to god knows who. Jon
  2. Regarding the original subject True Identity. The Chiropractic Business must avail you a lot of free time. Imagine running a successful one. Jon
  3. Guilt is good. Just ask any Jewish mother. Is she rich? Jon
  4. However, we do have Umart and PCCasegear. Not such a bad compromise. My ISP wanted $149.00 for a new Wireless modem, which I declined. I have just been in Sydney and a friend had one he didn't need. When he went to get it for me, his wife had thrown it out. It had never been plugged in. Ever. So, the Court finds your plea of 'Justifiable Homicide', upheld and you are free to go. Jon
  5. Oh, I see (bugger!) I was just thinking: Estonian Migration Tool. Not too long ago, that would have been a pick and shovel. Jon
  6. Yes, I'd settle for that. A PMDG'd 707. Now, that's a thought. I just think the 727 might have been sorta, done but I'd definitely buy it if they produced one. Let's face it. Anything they do is colossal. Jon
  7. That's exactly what I want. Like one of the larger Cessna's or Lear's. Smaller, faster (?) and capable of landing on shorter and more remote runways. I'm on the same page. I wonder if PMDG monitor any of the forums, other than their own sites. Obviously, they're a seriously professional outfit and I doubt they would be so arrogant as to dictate what the market will receive. Surely, their choices are well researched. Jon
  8. Thanks for that. I thought it might have been discussed. It's not a matter of losing sleep, it's a matter of doing what's right. PMDG have a right to their intellectual property and if it requires another license, I'll buy one. It would be a great gesture of customer goodwill on the part of PMDG, if they could cut us some slack on the extra license.
  9. I have just installed P3D and the Estonian Migration Tool which gives me the ability to load PMDG Aircraft into the P3D program. I have already done it with the JS4100 and then a few alarm bells started ringing. What is the official PMDG Management response to this? Am I breaching the eula? Jon
  10. Thanks for the heads-up. I just bought it. Jon
  11. Where do I find the Estonian Migration Tool? Just google it? How meanings change. Not long ago an Estonian Migration Tool would have been a pick and shovel. Jon
  12. Now, the next things will be add-ons. I have some PMDG aircraft I'd like to install. Is the model placer program the most advisable way to achieve this? I didn't realise you were a female woman of the opposite gender. I just assumed you were a bloke. Knowing this I will not emit strange noises nor scratch anything inappropriately, in your presence. Jon
  13. Give that man a medal. It's activated and working. LM would do well to take your phrase and use it in large red letters at the start of their instruction manual. Thank you so much. Jon
  14. I downloaded my 3 .zip files during which, my ISP required a top-up before it could finish. I'm following the instructions but I can't get it to install. Just on this, for a minute. I'm not your average computer user. I've been around these thing for a long time. The install process of this program is way too convoluted. There should be a dvd purchase option with its own installer for those of us who don't want to stumble around forums looking for answers. Ok, so I'm expecting the problem to originate with me but LM needs to pay attention, here. Is there and way to re-check checksums after the files have been downloaded? Would an AV program like windows security essentials block any aspects of the download? Jon
  15. I remember another aircraft I saw as a kid. I was told it was the last of the piston engined, interconintal airliners. I wish I could remember its name. Big and bulbous and all windows right around the curve of the nose. Jon
  16. I would have thought something even before the Jets. Lockheed Electra, Super Connie. Could you imagine a PMDG Super Connie. I want one. No GPS those days, shunny. Back when Navigation was an artform. Jon
  17. Is there something broken with the registration process on the official Hi Fi Website? I have tried on several occasions to register now and give up in bewilderment. I've forgotten to write down the activation key. I need a new one. Jon
  18. Yes but you NZ'ers talk funny. I'd love to go to NZ and see the South Island. Not too chuffed about the North. Mt. Cook. That area and Milford Sound, of course. I'll be looking for some good payware scenery for that. My conundrum is which of the 3 sims to get it for. I have no doubt you are correct that it will only be considered very good for a short time but I have it now! It's a good feeling. No, that was Cynicism. An area in which I excel. Sarcasm needs to be far more sneering to qualify. I am benchmarking the complete system, at stock, before I commence overclocking. Even at stock it's turning some impressive numbers. Jon
  19. I've been looking at exchange rates through some of the sites, too. The AU$ is at US$1.05. You lose most or all of that advantage. Jon
  20. When a member buys a really seriously powerful, beautiful and expensive Computer, is it Kosher for him to have a skite? Possibly we should make it a poll of members' opinions. I wanna start skiting, in the nicest possible way. It's quite a Beast. Sarcasm welcomed. In fact, an added thread called "If you show me yours, I'll show you mine". I know many of the boys in the assembly shop. I was quoted 5 to 10 working days. I picked it up within 2. Amazing effort on Umart's part. Jon
  21. Home Network, it is. I've only just renewed my ISP and have ten years loyalty. The modem is a one port relic. I reckon I might apply some pressure and see if I can get an upgrade. Failing that, I'm off to Sydney for a week and a friend was provided with one which he'll never need. His computer use is confined to filling out his footy tips once a week (with difficulty). I hope it's not locked so I might be able to save some cash. They reckon Boats are a hole in the water you throw money into. This computer is giving it a run for its money. Jon
  22. I'll get one of these Billion BP7800NL Wireless N ADSL2+ Firewall Modem Rourter . Billion have a good name don't they. Jon
  23. Well, I don't know. Apparently 2 of the connections are reversed, something like the old null modem trick. Looks like I'm going to need a new router. This is getting expensiver. Jon
  24. I'm at a bit of an impasse with my new system. I really can't go much further until I find out how to include my old but very powerful computer on a network. The intention is to install the full version of FSUIPC and run wide_fs, using the old beast for running weather etc. I'm not new to computers but have never had to create a network before. I've heard there is a ' magic' ethernet cable that makes it easier. Does anyone know what they're called? Jon
  25. I moved heaven and earth and picked it up. It's very big and very heavy but in the nicest possible way. The rig weighs in around 55-60 lbs but nearly 50 of that is the case.. I have it on a stand with casters now and it's the perfect solution. I'm not having any trouble getting to love this case. I'm getting set up at the moment and it's a long process. I'm off now to beg for a current PMDG 737 NGX key. I got bumped when I tried to run it. Jon
