  1. Hi, I was fortunate enough the other day to be put in the cockpit due to a totally overbooked SAS 736 operating the engm/lfpg leg. I had plenty of time to observe how the crew worked and it's always facinating to be where it all happens, first time in an NG though. I noted a couple of things they did differently as apposed to my SOP's :) 1. They always set DA even when shooting an ILS, unless it's a CATII minima. I always set DH accordingly when on an ILS approach2. They hardly ever use autobrakes, only when very short field operations or heavy x-wind Two minor observations from a humble sim-pilot having a blast with the extremely friendly crew, who sadly never heard about the NGX or it's competitors in the sim world. What they told me though is that the Ipad is coming soon to the rescue as an EFB, and that Boeing will charge them 55000$ for each unit to mount and configure... Better atleast be an Ipad2! By the way, told them about real pilots and atc's who comes home from work and 'play' with the simulator. The initial response was that those people probaly worked for Norwegian (main competitor of SAS in Norway), they actually both turned around to look at me and said "are you serious" -followed a good long laugh - Ace Ventura's 'Looo-hooo-seeers' came to mind :) At the end of the day i was even compensated with cash for the "inconvenience" it was for me sitting in the cockpit as apposed to sitting in my 10A seat, must say i felt like the winner that day :) Kind regards, Eirik Alimengm
  2. I belive Phil recently stated that ACES are leaving FSX and focusing on the next version. Guess that's good news :)Regards,Eirik Alim
  3. Hi Rob,Just had the same problem and solved it by changing my regional settings in windows to English (USA), that was it!Hope it helps,Best regards,Eirik Alim

Thomas,Did you at fs2004 LAUNCH have all sliders to the right with fps running and locked at 25fps constant? -i assume (know) the answer is no, no one did!Why make all this fuzz about this when history repeats itself, it will run better and better as new hardware is being introduced, that's how the FS series always have been and still is.Please stop monaing about it and try to remember the past.Regards,Eirik
  6. So Carlos you're not waiting for this one??: http://www.airlinerxp.com/This is probably going to be the first release of the 3 and from juding their combined experience as programmers, released screenshots and tech specs i would say THIS is it! Think it will be hard for the others to top this of, -needless to say this is only my specualtions since so little info are available from the others.Best regards,Eirik Alim
  7. Hi,Totaly agree, i was always flying in 2D until TIR was introduced into my system, it's awsome. I can fully understand and i would still be using 2D if it wasn't for TIR, i also thought it was to tedious to scroll around and zoom with the top hat or mouse in the VC. Right now though i think it's even easier to use VC in the complex airliners, i know my way around the cocpit, and take for instance the overhead panel, so much easier in VC, when entering high speed taxi ways after landing i can continue to taxi while configuring lights and electrical systems on the overhead panel without having my frontal view blocked by the 2D panel, gives much more freedom and so nice during visual approaches and base turns.Everybody should atleast try the TIR, if you don't like it, fine, but for me, it changed the whole atmosphere and really sparked new life into this hobby of mine which i have been doing since 1984 on the Commodore 64 and Sublogics FS2.I am now more eager than ever to fly and explore the world. TIR has been and is to date the most appreciated item in my system. Best regards,Eirik
  8. Hi,Maybe because a stock 737 doesn't really flex that much in real life either...? A heavy has a much larger wing and lots more weight which in turn can be compared to a tall sky-scraper, they also flex to be able to withstand the forces of the wind, shorter houses does not 'swing' that much, -think there is a similarity here.Best regards,Eirik
  9. Hi,Belive me when i say it's worth trying out heavies with good VC's, you will never go back to 2D, examples of good ones are particulary: PMDG 747, LDS767, F1 ATR72 (not as heavy though :) ) Only had my TIR4 for about 3 weeks time and i must say that it's the single most appreciated addon for the hobby so far.Best regards,Eirik Alim
  10. Hi Alex,Regarding the cockpit and classic gauges, i really don't think you should expect that option to see daylight since the -400 was never delivered with such a setup, it's NG by all means.Best regards,Eirik
  11. Hi,Haven't got hold of the demo yet so please excuse me if this question has been asked before:How does cloud overcast look like, can you still see the ground no matter the density.Really hope this has been addressed, I really want it to be total overcast when it's supposed to.Regards,Eirik
  12. Ok, finally!!The Lds default panel import function pointed to a sit file which had a crossreference to a file containing override parameters for the aircraft.cfg file.Glory days :)Thanks for now Bryan and have a nice weekend.Best regards,Eirik
  13. Ok, been fiddeling around a bit and found out that if i choose the tutorial sit file the ZFW is spot on, but if i choose one of the other sit files it's messed up, i have checked and confirmed that the the entry PayloadList=-1 is present in every sit file i triedAlso as before if i choose to just create a flight, then it get's messed up.I'll continue to try to solve this, if you have any more clues then let me no.Thanks,Eirik
  14. Good morning Bryan and sorry to bother you..Well the ZFW is always static, meaning it can be as far of as i choose it to be or as close. Doesn't seem like the SDK is reading the 'true' values. If I enter the fuel/payload menu in FS it reports the right weight, and as i said before, the aircraft.cfg is also updated with the right ZFW, exported from the Configuration Manager. My installation is working perfectly and have had no problems with Fs2Crew except this. Lds SP3 is and have been installed since release and ofcourse the 9.1 FS update.Have a nice day,Best regards,Eirik
  15. Hi Bryan and thanks for being so quick :)The sad thing is that i have already read the manual many times and also checked out the forum before posting, still no luck though... After i save the new weights in the config manager i can see the right numbers in the aircraft.cfg and I'm not using sit files. When i call loadmaster i always get a ZFW of 111.1 tonnes. Is there any hope?Best regards,Eirik
  16. Hi,Thanks for a wonderful product, have them all :)My problem with the 767edt is that it always reports wrong ZFW, I have double and tripple checked that the values in the config manager is saved and applied to the aircraft, payload is set right in the fuel/payload menu in FS. I have also tried to enter ZFW in the FMC before making the initial call to Vera but sadly without luck, also gone through the aircraft.cfg to check the weights which also seems right....The ZFW Vera reports is always 111.1 tonnes (245000ib).Any ideas would be great.P.s i also tried with and without situation files Best regards,Eirik Alim
  17. Hi,I'm very very very excited about this release and it's now safe and sound on my hd with multiple backups :)Are there anybody out there considering to paint the BA livery, as a proud member of BAV i, and mayby a couple of others, would really appreciate it.I have been a simmer since 1984 (FS2, C64) and more eager than ever about this hobby. I hearby bow in the dust for PMDG, thanks for everything you have given us the last few years and hopefully for many to come!Best regards,Eirik AlimBAV0415, VSAS874
