  1. Hi James, Are you sure your not asking too much of the airplane? I know toga should give you a massive amount of thrust, and if you are wanting to level off at a low altitude the autopilot modes you mention might not be able to do what you want them to. What weight are you? Again if light then toga will make you climb like a rocket, The autopilot is very good, but has its limitations. What speed are you selecting? The lower the speed the less likely the autopilot will be to to not bust the altitude, as you may be asking it to slow down and stop climbing, this all takes time to do. I,m sure there will be a much more succinct answer than my ramblings for you Cheers Neil warren
  2. Hi All, Just so you are aware. I do not think this is free! Cheers Neil
  3. Hi Dan, Thanks for your reply. Fuel dump on the 777 is approx 2 ton a minute. Max fuel is approx 150 ton. To dump 100 ton should take approx 50 mins. I had the fuel synoptic up most of the time. Fuel dumped from centre tank first then outboard tanks. As i say, time stayed at 400 mins until centre tank was empty, then time dropped to 10 mins. Dump was continuous from centre tank to outboards. No pause. Cheers Neil
  4. Hi all, Yesterday I decided to try a #1 eng fail at V1. I selected the 777-300 in P3D at LHR, selected 350 ton GW, Max fuel load, approx 150 ton. Took off 27L, eng 1 failed at V1, I continued the takeoff, the thrust assy control upon eng loss was incredible to see. Made handling the dead eng so much easier. I then cleaned up and entered a hold. Carried out the eng failure chk list. Decided to fuel dump and return to LHR. I had set up the A/C option for auto MLW fuel dump option. So it automatically worked out I'd need 48 tons left to be at MLW. Fuel dump commenced, however the issue i noticed was that the fuel dump time said 400 mins! It stayed on 400 min until centre tank was empty then went from 400min to 10 min! I played around with manually selecting fuel to remain, and this made no differnece to the 400 min. Not sure why this is the case, a possible theory is that i had a route discontinuity, as i had entered KJFK as arrival airport, but not entered a full route, as i was never planning on flying to JFK. Cheers Neil
  5. Hi all, As Rob has stated above, the auto-relight system provides flameout protection by activating both ignitors. It is not autostart, that is a different system, used on the ground. Cheers Neil
  6. Hi All, Ok so i just set a flame out in the failure options and yes the engine does auto relight, straight away with cont ign turned off. I don't think this is real world behaviour, but i could be wrong I will wait on Kyle to investigate further and enlighten us to the correct operation. Cheers Neil
  7. So sorry to here such sad news. I wish Tom and his family the very best at this difficult time for them. Tom your contribution to this community has been nothing short of spectacular and you are an inspiration to many. Your hard work and dedication to the flight sim community has produced the best web site for all members to use. Best of luck and stay strong Tom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Cheers Neil
  8. Why won't engine flame out work? Put a timer on it then you shouldn't have Continuous ignition on if you set timer for say 10 min after takeoff. You will have a flameout and have to restart it. Cont ignition is designed to prevent flamout in critical phases of flight, i.e takeoff and landing. Cheers Neil

    P3D taxi cam

Hi there, Yes I believe this is a known issue in P3D. PMDG did mention this i think. Off the top of my head i think they decided to release it with the camera inop (as not a show stopper). Rather than delay the release. Don't quote me on this, but i think they will try and get it working at some point! Cheers Neil
  10. Hi there, I have set up a flight with max fuel approx 145 tonnes, set a VR cut on Number 2 engine. Took off, followed ECL for no:2 engine shutdown. Started APU, then started a fuel dump. Very quickly led to a fuel imbalance, more fuel in left tank, less fuel in right tank. Followed fuel imbalance ECL, opened both crossfeed valves, turned off both left fwd and aft fuel pumps. Still left fwd fuel pump stayed on (i presume because its feeding APU). Therefore the left fwd fuel pump was feeding ENG 1 and APU and no fuel was being rebalanced. DC fuel pump in left tank was not on, different to the first picture in above post. Am I doing something wrong here? I would post screenshots, but can't figure out how! Cheers Neil
  11. Hi all, Looking at the list of fixes in SP1 I saw this: 0002893: [systems - Fuel] Fuel Balance issues EO (rsrandazzo) - resolved So this may be fixed, when I next get a chance I will load up a full fuel load, take off, fail right engine, start APU, and begin fuel dump, and carry out fuel imbalance ECL when required and see what happens. Cheers Neil
  12. Hi Kyle, When i first mentioned it, one of the posters said he had submitted a ticket. I will have another look at it when i get some time and submit a ticket, I wasn't sure if this is correct behaviour or not. If someone on the team could comment on this we may find out this is correct A/C logic. It just seemed illogical to my small brain  in that in a certain situation you are unable to correct a fuel imbalance. Cheers Neil
  13. Hi Rob, The problem with the APU is not the amount of fuel it burns, but that to correct a fuel imbalance from left to right side you need to turn off the left hand pumps, which you can do. However with APU running it automatically uses left pump, so pump stays on, imbalance gets worse!! Cheers Neil
  14. Hi all Has this issue been fixed in SP1? Cheers Neil
  15. Hi, I made a similar post to this a long time ago, there is a thread somewhere in this forum. I think the problem I had was that the APU was being fed by the left pump and with engine shut down it led to a fuel imbalance and I could not figure out how to resolve it. Not sure what correct logic should be on real A/C. But I was surprised if this was real behaviour, as it seemed wrong to me. Cheers Neil
  16. Hi all, I did a quick test flight and had exactly the same issue. Everything froze on A/C. But carried on flying. Then banked over and crashed. Had no control. Weird Cheers Neil
  17. Hello, I believe it relates to which autopilot or FD is the master. ie, Captn's would show L for left and F/O's would show R for right. I'm sure there is more too it than this and someone will correct me. However off the top of my head this is all I could remember!! Cheers Neil Hi again, Why would you want to remove it? This is as per the real A/C. So should be there! Cheers Neil
  18. Hi Robin, I completely disagree with some of your comments. You think that Airbus never recovered from the A320 crash in the 1980's. However they went on to sell thousands of A320 series A/C! That too me is a pretty good recovery. The crash was caused by crew error as was the A340 Air France crash, F/O kept constant back pressure on joystick. Please quantify your statement on the A330-300 being underpowered. From what I have heard it has plenty of power. Are you getting confused with the A340 series that has 4 engines as opposed to two! As far as Airbus being seen as too complicated, again airliners would not be buying these A/C if this was the case. Regards Neil
  19. Hi Ben, I thought you and Josh did a great job. Really enjoying your work. I would like to see the flight into an airport that closes, so you hold and discuss fuel, then divert. I think it would be really helpful to see the procedure real world pilots use to decided exactly when to divert. I am never exactly sure what my divert point should be! Cheers Neil
  20. I'm always amazed by these so called "experts" that come out from the woodwork whenever there is a crash or incident! The amount of rubbish they spout is incredible. Most of what they say is utter garbage tailored for gutter press. The funniest one I heard from one of them was, maybe they were crashing and didn't send a mayday because they "didn't think it was worth it!". Imagine that scenario, Hey were crashing, shall I send a mayday Captain? No I don't think we need to bother, It won't do us any good. Best to say nothing. I get really annoyed with all the rubbish people have come out with at most crashes. Cheers Neil
  21. Hi All, I also raised this question some while ago. Good to know it wasn't something I was doing wrong! Cheers Neil
  22. Hi All, Am loving getting to grips with the B777 and all PMDG's extras. I think the ground operations is an excellent feature. I have request to make it even better. Would it be possible to set it up in auto for before landing, where once you pull onto stand and set the parking brake, the ground power would be connected, doors would open and refuelling would take place. I know all this can be done through the CDU's using the ground pages. I would just love to have it all happen automatically, this would greatly increse the realisim for me. Thanks you PMDG for an amazing product once again! Cheers Neil
  23. Hi Guys, Thanks for your replies. I agree this is one hell of an acurate 777 simulation! Good to hear real world pilots opinions. Gatetothesky762, i'm not sure what you mean. I tried correcting the fuel balance both with fuel dump on and off, did not make any difference. The issue I have is with APU running the Left Fwd pump is on automatically and therefore uses fuel from left fuel tank, which doesn't allow the fuel to be rebalanced. Cheers Neil
  24. Hi All, This evening I took off from LPPG with full fuel load, I think 145 tonnes or so. After take off I decided to have a little fun and set a Right engine fire. I followed the ECL (awesome detail) all the way through, shut down and secured the engine. All the while on auto pilot. Then set up a hold to fuel dump for return back into Paris. The fuel dumping began and was going to take approx. 1 hr. All going well so far. I had an eicas fuel imbalance message appear after a few mins. No problem as this is due to having only the Left engine burning fuel. Again I followed the ECL, which told me to open the cross bleeds and turn off Left fuel pumps to allow Right fuel pumps to use the fuel in right tank to even up the imbalance. Now as part of the engine fire checklist I turned on the APU, this uses fuel pump left fwd. So even though I had turned off both left hand fuel pumps the fwd left was still running. Due to this I was unable to cure the fuel imbalance and by the time fuel dumping had got down to MLW the imbalance was 5 tonnes. Does anyone know if I am missing something, is this what should happen? I did think I could sort it by switching APU off but didn't think that was a safe option! Hope this rambling makes sense and would love to hear from anyone with any ideas. Cheers Neil
