  1. Hey man:Look for a file here at avsim or over at fs2004.com called Airland1.zip - it has very good replacement runway, taxiway and tarmac textures.I think you'll be really surprised, and pleased with them - especially the winter ones. It's fine on frames as well.Thanks.Paul.
  2. Then I'd stick with those - they don't look too bad compared to the previous ones we (I) had you try - if they are working better for you and you are happy with them then keep these current settings.Thanks.
  3. Also if you find that your disk itself is ok then i would suggest running a complete virus scan and then FOR SURE a disk defragment - even if its using the one that comes with windows xp.Thanks.Paul
  4. Dale:Any luck with your setting changes?Did they help you at all?Thanks.Paul.
  5. Change the following entries to the values I have shown and let me know how it works for ya.TEXTURE_BLDG=3TEXTURE_GND=5TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=20 <--- this looks to low but try itTextureMaxLoad=16 <----- this is a new lineTERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=4TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=5Mode=???? X ???? X ?? <---- you have at least 4 entries of this and there should only be ONE. IT should be under the heading of:[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA.........]and should be the same resolution as your machine is set to.Delete all the others.Your lines reading Trilinear=1 should only be under this heading too.Your Mipbias=8 line should be under the heading [DISPLAY]Delete all the others.Try those to start and let me know how things go for you.Remember to backup your FS9.CFG file before making the changes.Thanks.Paul.
  6. Just copy and paste it whole as is and I'll take a look.Thanks.Paul.
  7. Dolph:Post your FS9.CFG file and I'll see if I can make any suggestions.Thanks.Paul.
  8. Hey Gary:What ground textures are you using there in those screen shots?ThanksPaul.
  9. Hi guys:In your settings ensure you have the following two options checked. For display settings on the Scenery tab ensure you have check marks set for:Dawn/Dusk Blending andExtended Terrain Textures. As for the clocks switching - yes I believe it's a time zone / Greenich Mean Time (Zulu Time) thing.Thanks.Paul.
  10. Ah I thought you were referring to my post. The textures I was referring to are just that textures. The originator might be looking for more detailed autogen and the like but i doubt that is going to happen any time soon.Thanks.Paul
  11. Not like that at all - it's just replacement textures for cities, towns etc. Not autogen with actual landmarks around the world. Just different textures.Thanks.Paul
  12. Please post your PC specs, your FS9.CFG file and have you tried downloading and using nhancer from www.nhancer.com?After you post I'll try and help you from there.Thanks.Paul.
  13. Yes if anyone knows of a GOOD set of textures for (cities, towns etc), please let us know.Ground environment ones aren't bad but I'm waiting anxiously for ones done by Gyula Kalcs
  14. Please post your PC specs, your FS9.CFG file and have you tried downloading and using nhancer from www.nhancer.com?After you post I'll try and help you from there.Thanks.Paul.
  15. Usually on the commercial planes you have to control these all yourself. They don't always ALL come on by using the L key for lights.Go to your payware aircrafts overhead panel and look for the light switches as you probably have to turn them on individually yourself.Just a thought.Thanks.Paul.
  16. Jeff:I must admit I tried your settings and to my surprise I have excellent results. I'm using 24, 20, 16 respectively for the entries in the FS9.CFG you mentioned. My machine - Gateway P4 2.4 Ghz with 512 mb nvidia 7600 GS vid card - 3.5 GB memory (4 GB on Win Xp SP2 32 bit operating system) and LG 20.1 " flat screen monitor.I will contine testing and let you guys know if my results continue.Around what frame rate limit would you suggest NOT going over using these new settings?Thanks.Paul.
  17. Not sure man - I've only heard that this value can only go to 10 so I leave mine at 10.Thanks.Paul.
  18. 10 at the most.If it doesn't help - try knocking it down to 7 or 8 but 10 should be ok.Your TEXTURE_BANDWITH_MULT should be somewhere between 200 and 400 for the video card you have listed there.Change this value in increments of 50 and once you start seeing poorer results then the last - take/add 50 off/on and set it there.Paul.
  19. CDAhmedEH I see your computer specs there - could you post your FS9.CFG file here and I'll take a look at it.Other have done it and I've made suggestions to them and it seems to have worked for them. I don't see why it wouldn't for you.I'll watch this thread to see when / if you post your FS9.CFG file and I'll get back to you.Thanks.Paul.
  20. Could you guys post your FS9.CFG file and I'm sure we could help ya out.Thanks.Paul
  21. Texturemaxload is is like a multiplier of your TEXTURE_BANDWITH_MULT value. Of course that's the very simplest of explanations :)The values for TEXTURE_BLDG and TEXTURE_GND from what I understand just give a higher priority to the building and/or ground textures (which ever one you increase from the default value of 1 - However, don't go any higher then 5 from what I hear).Thanks.Paul.
  22. Also change the following entries as well to the values I have shown below. They should help with keeping your building and ground textures more crisp and clear - and do so quicker.TEXTURE_BLDG=3TEXTURE_GND=5However, if you see it slowing your machine down any at all just drop the numbers down slightly.Thanks.Paul.
  23. Tried the 'run as win xp compatibility' option and fs9 still not running.Stating 'you are running an incompatible version of DX.Any suggestions now?
