  1. I've set up a dedicated NGX server using Chocolate Software's FSHost if anyone wanted to play around on it to confirm/deny if it's a good option. Use FSHostSpy to locate the Dedicated NGX Flight Server or just put 71.170.36.18 into your FSClient app. Tommy
  2. I didn't say it needed to happen this weekend (with such short notice), but was kicking around the idea for interest so we can plan. We're coming up on Thanksgiving weekend (11/24-11/25) where a lot of people might be home and available to join in. Things to consider: 1. Location: Where are most of our users? If the majority are in the US, let's find a locale in the States. If more are in .eu, let's find a place over the pond. Suggestions? 2. Based on #1, what time? (keeping in mind the drastic time differences) 2. Vatsim or use Chocolate Software's multi-player client? 3. Teamspeak? 4. Livery restrictions? As most of you who have done MP flights before, you have to have everything installed that the other player does in order to see their planes. We might want to settle on preferred liveries to give everyone a chance to get them installed before the big day. 5. WX - Real or cleared? Anything else anyone can think of? Tommy
  3. I have a feeling my post in the PMDG section of the forum will get deleted because I refuse to sign my 'full name' on posts, so I figured a more appropriate location for this idea would be on the multi-player forums. Anyone interested an NGX fly-in weekend?
  4. With so many NGX enthusiasts out there, I was wondering if anyone has considered a fly-in event some weekend? Tommy
  5. Do you need to repack the cab file with this change? If so, can you please explain this process as I've never messed around with cab files before.
  6. Sorry guys.. it's taken me awhile to get back to you on this. The version in question picked up url.exe as a category of dynamic malware according to Symantec Endpoint Protection. I'm guessing it's similar in nature to the way netcat for windows is picked up and quarantined. Unfortunately this file was required for METAF information to be downloaded. Without it, the app would hang and had to be task killed. Version 1.8 still uses url,exe which gets quarantined by SEP. Scan type: Auto-Protect Scan Event: Risk Found! Security risk detected: Suspicious.Cloud.5 File: C:\SimLauncher\url.exe Location: C:\SimLauncher Action taken: Pending Side Effects Analysis : Access denied Date found: Sunday, November 04, 2012 8:26:33 PM
  7. Picked up the "sim launcher 1.2" tool available in the library tonight and my AV fired off a quarantine of one of the executables (url.exe) it extracted. What sort of AV scans do the library managers perform before allowing submissions?
  8. Are you willing to share it with those of us who don't mind the imperfections?
  9. Sorry for not signing my name on the post.. to give you an idea of my rig: 737NGX RC4 AISmooth UT2 with 75% AC saturation and 2012 summer schedule REX DX10 preview disabled The weird thing is that the planes are invisible save for the cabin and the prop/lights, so it's like flying with ghost planes all over the skies. The only traffic that shows is the default FSX traffic. ---------- Tommy
  10. I can't WAIT for the Texas International livery to be ready.. you guys are truly masters of your craft!
  11. I've noticed that when I use the PMDG 737NGX with UT2, any non-default traffic shows up as invisible. This only seems to be happening with the NGX as I've loaded several other payware AC with no issues. Anyone else got a similar problem?
  12. Can we get this topic pinned? I think 194 pages warrants a pin, dontchoo?
  13. I don't know about everyone else, but I rarely if ever use VATSIM. I'm more prone to use FSHost (http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/) and do multiplayer with others using that. If I need voice, I'll use ventrillo. RC4 works nicely as well.
  14. You sure? Maybe it was the speed with which the dialog is played, but they still sounded computerized. Why don't they just record the actual briefings and replay them as wavs on key stroke commands? (Like CS does with the 727/707)
  15. I've had 3 flights today end up in a RC4 frozen state. Not sure what's going on, but it's random enough that I can't predict what's happening and when, Basically my game freezes for about 5 seconds, then once my game recovers RC stops communicating. I still have mileage countdown to way points, which is weird, but can't request any menu changes or get any response from ATC. Is anyone else getting a weird conflict with the Capatin Sim 707 and RC4?
  16. Got it. I'll try those and see what happens.
  17. Once again it looks like RC4 is having problems with high pressures and altitudes. Today's flight from KDAL to KMCI had a pressure of 30.45 when under 18,000 feet. RC has a tendency to bark at me when I level off at the assigned altitude because it thinks I'm at a much higher than I really am (If I could figure out what it THINKS I'm at, I could compensate.. but it never tells you what altitude you're at.. only what you should be at). I thought this was a problem that only seemed to plague the Maddog 2010, but now it's happening with the PMDG 737-700, so I'm pretty sure it's not the plane. What cracks me up is no one else seems to ever have this problem but me.. and it's so sporadic it only happens when a front has moved through and I use REX or ASE as my WX generator. Rather than listen to ATC complain at me, i usually just shut RC4 down and fly on my own when this happens.
  18. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BOE236/history/20120209/2100Z/KBFI/KBFITalk about a cool flight plan! Nothing like scripting out the Boeing logo and 787 across the northern part of the country.
  19. If you figure it out, let me know as well. Strong winds today have caused the NGX to bank right and left too often to keep on track with the flight plan. I highly doubt real world flights bank as much as this bird does at the moment. =P
  20. Anyone else notice that the bag in the cargo area of the C-172 Skyhawk from Carenado has Alabeo written on it? Seems they were dropping hints all along...
  21. Posted a write up at http://www.fs9blog.com/. I'll be getting the Belize scenery some time today and tool around with these liveries to hopefully make some screen shots in it's natural habitat. =)
  22. So I take it we're waiting on AVSim to approve it before I can get my paws on this repaint?
  23. You are talented beyond your years, friend! Thank you so much for putting this together!
