  1. Okay. Hopefully always in the adverts too then, though not necessarily very prominently it seems! Odd that on the UK nVidia site only the one Titan X is listed, and that's just called "nVidia Titan X" just like many of the ads. The one there is a Pascal. I assume they are no longer supplying the Maxwell version so the resellers are just supplying older stock. Thanks for the clarification. I have only recently got my 1080,. I see no need to upgrade again yet -- maybe if and when I decide to upgrade my projector to 4k. Pete
  2. Interesting. There it is just entitled "Titan X" not "Titan XP" or "Titan X Pascal", but it says Pascal architecture in the smaller print. So are ALL titan X's with Pacal? nVidia don't appear to list the Titan X separately like resellers do. So, maybe I was searching for the wrong thing. Amazon has Titan X's as low as £899, eg: the one below. [LATER] Read the description of that card in the more detailed text below on Amazon -- it says "Maxwell" architecture".. So now I'm really confused. When buying a Titan X how do you know what you are getting? Does it say Pascal clearly on the box? It doesn't in the pic on a posting above.]. 3. Well, that link doesn't work for me, but the UK version, http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/10series/titan-x/ does, and lists the Titan X at £1099, and doesn't have anything but a blurb for the XP. I guess it isn't released by GeForce over here yet, and that's why it's going at such a premium from importers. I expect it'll settle down to something more reasonable when it is released. I might consider it, when I move to P3D, but not if it doesn't have a notable improvement at 1080P (unless I weaken and go for a 4k projector -- though i'd have to pay for installation on top of its price too. I'm not attempting that these days. Too old and wobbly with a bad back and claustrophobia so i won't go into the loft, which would be necessary). Thanks for the temptations though! ;-) Pete
  4. Yes, silly. See Amazon entry below. There may be other traders (probably doing "grey imports" -- dodgy warranties that way) for less than that, but these things are always much more expensive over here! They may be trading on its relative rarity in the UK to date. Anyway, I'm okay at present with my 1080, at least in FSX-SE. May consider upgrading later, maybe when I do eventually switch to P3D. 5. But but: £2,300 just for the one graphics card! Phew!. At least, that's the Amazon UK price for it. Pete
  6. So they will start counting the data used while streaming FSX:SE Why are you streaming it? Just let it install once. You don't need to be on-line once it is installed in any case, you can turn that off. Pete
  7. Yes, I thought they'd fixed it and it did work. It seems to have changed recently.. I'm on 3.4.14 at present. no wy could I get it to work here. Pete
  8. I can't believe this! The SimConnect menu bug which I'm sure was reported months ago, is still there -- the one where the SimConnect menu's 10th item is labelled 10, not 0, and in fact does not accept key 0! There is no key "10"! I'm very surprised that the L-M chaps don't realise this! And many applications use 0 to clear the menu -- it may even be the default use for all I know. But this bug means (along with one I've recently discovered, the hard way, where the latest version of P3D crashes immediately you try to use an assign SimConnect Menu N event) that there is no way at all to properly operate menus by keypress -- and therefore no way for joystick buttons! This currently rules out using P3D for my cockpit. No way is a mouse invading it's interior! :-( Doesn't anyone else here have these problems? Pete
  9. Hmm. They must have quickly fixed it then. I'll re-download. (Others fond the same thing as I BTW). Pete
  10. This new version does not auto-update, and I think they are proposing withdrawing the auto-update mechanism. Pete
  11. I don't have photoscenery -- I don't use it, flying only 737 it isn't really so useful. Just good airports and weather! ;-) PM sent. Thanks, Pete
  12. Ah, thanks. I have all those, with the same date and time, EXCEPT "LIRQ_ADEX_ADE_OBJ_2.bgl". Where did you get that file from? I only purchased and downloaded the scenery from SimMarket earlier this week, but it isn't included in the install. Pete
  13. Well ,the anomalies I see are obvious, so if you've not seen any you don't have any. The problem I have is that it occurs even in a default FSX-SE installation -- no added mesh, nothing else to interfere with it ... .. except possibly the default FSX Florence, which has a different (lower) altitude. Maybe your mesh fixes that? However, I find it hard to believe that a company would release a scenery product which needed for you to install some other third party mesh to get the altitudes correct. Puzzled! Pete
  14. Hi folks, I've recently upgraded my PC and am busy reinstalling stuff, checking each time of course. Florence is proving difficult. My FlorenceX from Aerosoft won't install correctly and when trying tore-download I find it is now withdrawn by Aerosoft. I think it was originally an FSDreamTeam scenery, since Addon Manager lists it, but i can't activate it there either. So, I gave up and looked for a alternative. The only one I found was RFSCENERYBUILDING - LIRQ FLORENCE which seems later and more detailed. So I've installed that. But there's an altitude problem. Runways, taxiways and buildings are 10 feet higher (and probably correct) that some of the ground underneath. the buildings are floating 10 feet of the lower ground beneath them, and there are gullies between defined taxiways. Surrounding trees and so on are fine, planted in the lower level ground. I tried using ADE to lower the airport altitude in the AFD BGL but that didn't help at all. I've eliminated all other BGLs which mention LIRQ in the name, and also shown in Airport Scanner that there are no other AFD conflicts. Has any one any ideas? Unfortunately there's not much of a Support turnout for RFScenery -- the only forum type interaction I found is all in Cyrillic. Pete
  15. I'm just getting things sorted out on a new PC. I transferred most of the stuff using a program designed to do such things. But somehow, now, FSX-SE, which is certainly installed without any FSX being there, is using the FSX-SE folders instead of FSX folders in AppData and ProgramData. When I've done this stuff before I did manage to find the registry entry to change this behaviour, but I simply cannot find it now. I know there's a reply here in one topic which gives the answer, but I can't find a search text which will find it. Can someone help, please? Pete
  16. I don't think any developer would be interested in doing anything completely new for a 13 year old sim version. FSX and P3D are more compatible, and P3D still being developed. Pete
  17. I would have thought any implementation for this would more likely go direct to the source. There was a product which did this sort of thing. FS Live Traffic I think. Check https://flyawaysimulation.com/news/1865/ and http://www.airnavsystems.com/fs/ I think they are the same folks who do Flightradar24. I havw one of their original RadarBoxes with a Transponder/ACARS aerial on my roof! If it is the same folks, I wouldn't have thought they be amenable to others trying to use their data to compete with their product, unless perhaps FS Live is discontinued. Pete
  18. Well, that gave me hope, but then the title of those options tells otherwise. it says "Select the computer's response if this service fails" If you check, EVERY service has those same options. Shame FS /P3D isn't a service! Anyway, thanks for the idea. Pete
  19. Oh, I'm not talking about that! No OS crashes. FS or P3D crashes like access violations -- mainly when trying to set things up on a new PC (as I am doing now), and when trying to make my own software work during development. I too never get crashes normally. Just now I'm finding some software with definite Win10 incompatibilities (ObjectDock is one of them, though nothing to do with FS), and a couple of drivers I wrote for my own cockpit. I'm certain there is a way to stop the auto-restarts. I just can't find it and I can find no relevant help on the web. Pete
  20. Pressing ESCape when? It's restarting so fast I don't have time to get to the keyboard from my cockpit! It comes up with a message box briefly, then starts on the restart. I try to stop it using Task Manager but it's inevitably too late to avoid destroying the evidence / information I need. Of course, the Windows Event Viewer data is still there and useful, but there's other stuff I need. Pete
  21. I know. Same here. I assume there's some setting defaulted differently in Win10, but I just can't find it. and the help just isn't. There must be others here running Win10 now? Pete
  22. I'm moving my main cockpit stuff to a new computer running Win10 (all Win7 before). I'm currently resolving all sorts of new problems this has caused, but one big one which is slowing thi down is that P3D (and FSX too for that matter) automatically restart on an error. I've not had this before. How do I stop it? Can anyone help? (The web reveals only how to stop Windows itself restarting on a crash). The problem iwith automatic restarts is that the logging I'm adding to track the problems down is getting overwritten by the log produced on the next run. I need to get access to things after a crash, and resolve the issues, not run it again immediately without a fix! Pete
  23. On this point Me too -- except on my current Development PC which runs Win7 and on which I copied some user's way of messing it all up and have never got SimConnect WinSxS working on it again since! Not that I now need it, thank goodness. But of the thousands of FSUIPC users there were plenty in the day who managed to get their SimConnect WinSxS state in some sort of mess. With Windows XP I could get that sorted by a bit of Registry editing (or the .REG files to do it), bit I found this fixing impossible in Vista and Win7, which is why I changed how FSUIPC connected. It didn't help those folks if they tried to use other SimConnect add-ons, but it took a load of support pressure off me, I can tell you! In the end many folks who managed to get into this mess (which seemed to usually arise somehow by trying to uninstall / reinstall in some non-approved manner) had to resort to a complete reinstall from Windows up.
