  1. It'll be local to the gauge. The MACH controls supported by FS are all to do with the A/P speed setting. You might find that setting A/P Mach also toggles the MCP speed display, and vice versa for the AP AIRSPEED controls. Pete Pete
  2. No, I see no layer which can be added. The Scenery folder in the Download package only has BGLs for the main Scenery/World/Scenery folder. But it's a good point. I'll go make sure all those are probably in that folder. Would it be better to put all those BGLs in there own layer, added to the Scenery.CFG? AI traffic from MyTrafficX seems to be fine with its own layer, rather than have it in the main World folder like the default AI. I think I might do that. No, none of those. They also prevent lots of other AI. I did once try some WOAI but I took precautions of converting it first. But I removed it in any case. Thanks! AT least I know where to look now! Pete
  3. Now that there's a single ZIP to download and install, I have done that -- installed into FSX-SE. I moved both ships and boat sliders up to 50 or even 100%, but I see very few small and leisure boats and no ferries, just the odd tanker, in places where I'm sure there should be more around the British Isles -- Liverpool, Dublin, Southampton, London. Where do I look to see them? Do I have to somehow add some dock scenery so they have places to come and go (like with airports for AI)? Pete
  4. Difficult to say really. I never measured anything specifically to do with video before. I only use it for scenery -- the outside view -- via a 1080P projector onto a 10 foot wide screen (138 inch diagonal, to compare with a normal screen size), seen through the windows in a 737 cockpit. I think the only noticeable change is perhaps less delay in filling in texture, i.e. less temporary black areas -- hardly any at all. I suppose that's related more to the increased video memory and higher memory throughput than anything else. I've not really noticed any significant increase in performance otherwise, maybe a frame or two with P3D, not so much FSX-SE I think. But I'm sticking with FSX-SE for now -- the scenery does look superb with P3D, but it's pretty good with FSX too, and flying airliners only I don't need that much outside of airports. Sorry I can't give you anything specific to go on. When I decided to go for the 980Ti I was hoping that P3D would make such good use of it that the performance would improve noticeably, but I was badly disappointed.in that regard. So, I reckon it depends what you want, and what changes in the future with P3D. I think it might be worth holding off anyway because I saw that there's a new range of ultra-super-duper fast video cards coming out in the not too distant future, the 10xx series. ;-) Pete
  5. I find 200 works well. I'm using MyTrafficX 6 plus UT2. Gets most slots filled at EGLL, but not all. about as I see it when there. Mind you, whilst I do like P3D for its graphics, with a realistic level of traffic at EGLL (UK2000 or Aerosoft versions), I find its performance insufficient there, especially for landing. That's why, until I get an even more powerful PC I'm using FSX-SE, just flirting with P3D. That's even after upgrading video cards from a 780Ti to a 980Ti, thinking P3D would make really good use of it. My processor is a 4770K running at 4.5GHz. Pete
  6. 430+ add-on layers, here. And apart from FS Global which is, like it says, global, they are all for Europe -- well "greater Europe", extending to the Azores, Madeira, Canaries, and the North African and Middle Eastern Mediterranean. Nearly all payware airports, but some of the better quality freeware too. All enabled all the time except where I have alternatives -- like UK2000 Heathrow and Aerosoft Heathrow. I prefer the UK2000 one (but it's close). The Aerosoft one gives me better frame rates, though, especially with realistic traffic levels (MT6 and UT2), so, until I upgrade to a PC capable of 5GHz I am using the Aerosoft one. Pete
  7. Please see the FSUIPC Advanced Users Guide, page 46. Pete
  8. Yes. I assume you don't have the ipcReady file in the Modules folder, which is why it wasn't listed. It is only needed if you have initialisation stuff to do from Lua. Well, it's unlikely, because the only Lua you could have assigned to is that one, "DynamicFriction", as it's the only one there. It can be useful to assign a key to it if you intend to modify any of the friction values it sets for you. A key assigned to it, for example, would allow you to force it to reload to test the new friction values. Pete
  9. You should NEVER edit the [LuaFiles] section yourself! It is automatically created and updated from the Lua files it finds in the Modules folder, Once the numbers are assigned there, they are used in encoded assignments made in Buttons, Axes and Keys section of FSUIPC. Changing those will destroy or mutilate those assignments. Pete
  10. Try loading it in FSUIPC but using the 'READY' keyword, so it doesn't try to do things whilst FS is furiously busy loading AI and meeting demands from all sorts of loading programs. Pete
  11. You apparently posted on my support forum before here, but didn't wait for a reply? You later posted there that you solved your problem by sorting out corrupt weather files, by the look of it (though I think you thought othewise). But since you posted no log or other crash information there's no way I could have helped you yet in any case. And why not just deal with problems like this is the correct forum, please? Pete
  12. But the version I referred to is compiled against 61242, hence the manifest. It doesn't know or care whether it is on the same PC as FS or not. The link to SimConnect works identically. I should know, I helped Microsoft make SimConnect and have been involved with it since early 2005. FSUIPC, by contrast, is not compiled against any particular version and uses the latest one it can find of the ones it knows. I long ago abandoned the awful Windows Side-by-Side library system and went for direct linking. Pete
  13. FSX-SE has never been near the PC I'm using AirTrafficManager on! The version of AirTrafficManager I downloaded from the link in this thread, the link in the "Best Answer" message, the ZIP dated 17th Jan 2016, the one with Version Number 1.9.1.3, most certainly does NOT need and won't use 62615. Even the manifest supplied with it explicitly states 61242 -- which is actually the FSX SP1 edition. So it seems you have the wrong download, still. Pete
  14. The [LuaFiles] entries are generated automatically and list all of the Lua files (well, up to 127 of them, max) found in the Modules folder. It isn't used for the Lua command in the [Auto] section, it is only gives FSUIPC the cross-reference number for encoded assignments to the Luas in Buttons , Keys or Axes. You should never edit the [LuaFiles] section, it except possibly for deleting redundant lines if you've removed a Lua and all assignments to it. Pete
  15. Happens when FS or P3D thinks it's a newly connected device. Maybe it was slow waking up when P3D loaded, maybe it got disconnected, maybe there was a glitch or a driver update. It always happened with FS as well. It's the "helpful" automatic assignment. Safest way is to simply disable controllers in P3D. You never need to remove any assignments. What is it you still think you need controllers enabled in 3D for? Pete
  16. I think you misunderstood. I do not have any versions of FSX, FSX-SE or P3D installed on my Client PC, only on the main Server PC, and the Jan 2016 version of AirTrafficManager works perfectly well (except for the occasional crash, the reason for my earlier post). So, it doesn't need 62615 SimConnect. I'm pretty sure it uses the SP2/Accel version now. Earlier versions used the SP1 version. Best to install both. If you've actually installed FSX-SE on a PC, part of the installation process would have been to run the SimConnect.msi you've found in the SDK folder. That copy is there in case folks want to also install it on a Client PC. Pete
  17. Strange. It works fine here, except for the occasional crash, which was why I started posting here. I'm running it on a Client PC, and there's no FSX-SE SimConnect 62615 there. Pete
  18. Assuming you downloaded it from the "Best Answer" link recently, and it is the version I mentioned, all you need to do is install the FSX SP1 and SP2Accel SimComnnect's provided in FSX-SE's folders Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-SP1 and E:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-XPACK Just execute (double click) the simconnect.msi files you find there. This is well worth doing in any case. There are lots of applications which use those and won't connect to the FSX-SE specific ones (which changed on every release -- about 6 times over 3 months!) FSUIPC accepts almost any known version. I got fed up changing things every time! ;-) Pete
  19. The original lnk in this thread and repeated at the top of each page: http://www.mediafire...X-P3D_Radar.zip The text associated with the link says it is "New temporary release 1.9.0.6" but it gets this year's version, as I said. That one is also older than the version actually obtained using the link in this thread at the top of each page, the one which says "Best Answer". Pete
  20. But I'm using version 1.9.1.3 which is certainly later, being dated 17/01/2016/ It is the version which is compatible with both FSX and P3D. The older (!) 2.9.1.2 only works with P3D. The last entry in the Blog at present is dated 14/12/2015 which is earlier than the exchanges I have had with DukeSan27. Although I provided the Windows crash data to him, it looks like that doesn't help him. The problem seems to be that with Managed Code programs, when they crash in a library module which is outside the managed environment, as here, there's little help locating the problem in the managed code. It's in an environment of its own. So I don't see how it can proceed to a good conclusion at present. And the other puzzle is that, with the frequency the crash is happening on my system, I'm surprised I'm the only one seeing it. Pete
  21. Thanks. As per my email to you last night, I was hoping to try the version you are using first, as you said that didn't crash, or "hardly ever". Pete
  22. I have all three FSX SimConnect and the latest FSX-SE SimConnect installed in any case, as many other add-ons need one of the others. And I have the program running on a client PC, separately from FSX-SE, also with those three FSX ones installed. It works fine. It just crashes relatively frequently. Does anyone know how to get in touch with the developer directly? Pete
  23. I've installed AirTrafficManager 1.9.1.3, which seems to be the latest (?), It ison a clent PC and works okay for a while, but crashes. It never lasts for a full session. I reload it and it continues for a while, then crashes. I append the crash details. Hope you can fix this! Is there any chance that you could detect a flight plan being loaded into FS (it's a Simconnect Event) and thereby automatically fill in the airport details? ASN has such a facility for planning the route weather properly, and it works well.
