  1. FSUIPC includes assignable controls as detailed in the Advanced Users guide, in the section entitled Additional "FS" Controls added by FSUIPC. Traffic Density Set (param 0-100) Traffic Density Toggle (param 0-100) The latter toggles between the value you set at parameter and 0. Or you can assign different buttons or keys to setvarious values using the first. Pete
  2. We tried this and it made no difference at all for us, sad to say. Pete
  3. No, I can find nothing there very relevant. Thanks though. Pete
  4. Not yet, but I will do once we've finished getting everything set up. Not yet, though Nat, who is still aligning the views on my curved screen, says he's tried it in the past and found it made little to no difference but sometimes caused a lag in textures being drawn. But that must have been with P3D3, so we'll certainly try it with P3D4. I see it is now included in [TERRAIN] with 'False' set -- before you had to add it yourself. BTW, where is this "Performance Tuning Guide" referenced in that thread? So far having the cards 3-way SLI's definitely gives a smoother result, noticeably so at the sides on the 210 degree view. That's normally where I'd see constant microstutters even when the forward section looks perfectly smooth. Not sure yet that it improves frame rates -- will know after we've finished setting up and had a chance to do more tests. If what I've read about SLI is true, one of the things I might be able to do is increase some of the settings I've previously had to reduce to get things usable at busy dense airports. Pete
  5. Well, I went with this, but it isn't as good performance-wise as all three projectors on the one card! I found that rather surprising. We will be trying 3-way SLI with the three 1080Ti's, and hope that will turn out justifying the cost of the extra 2 cards. If not I will have two slightly used 1080Ti s for sale -- hybrid ones with water and air cooling. Yes, I read all about assorted SLI problems in P3D version 3, but then an equal number of good things about SLI in version 4 with the lastest nVidia driver. Pete
  6. Neither. Just making the text from the menus available for applications to read, maybe using Client Data -- the same way I get the PMDG aircraft data for my offsets. My use of getting menu texts is so I can display them on a small screen in my cockpit, not for processing them to automate answers. but either way the text can be used. (I've done this already on FSX/P3D3 for regular SimConnect menus, from applications, but not for the default ATC, which I don't use in any case). Pete
  7. I'm currently trying to get Lockheed-Martin to implement a way of doing that. If they do it will be for P3D v4 of course. no chance for FSX or FSX-SE I'm afraid. Pete
  8. Okay, I'll watch developments. I'm changing over from P3d3 to P3D4 this coming weekend, on a new purpose-built PC, and have been busy accumulating the compatible add-ons I already have and upgrading, purchasing, or simply downloading those where I need an update for compatibility. I did have all the Night Environment series, at least those for Europe, but for P3D4 decided to go fo your more integrated black Marble range. I never actually flew with NE enabled because it hit my frame rates severely. But now I am encouraged by good performance reports from BM users. I only ever fly in Greater Europe so the effects in the rest of the world will be lost on me. I will be using GEXP4 and UTX2 Europe, still with FS Global 2012 mesh. I've not been attracted to Orbx FTX as yet. I do have all their modules, but the only thing which may entice me to part of the Orbx range on my new PC would be just FTX Global for the Innsbruck airport add-on, which does look very good. I do hope the remaining BM niggles get sorted quickly. Pete
  9. Why is all the traffic going one way -- towards you in the vid, or left-to-right. Is that a deficiency in P3D? Pete
  10. I don't understand why folks need additional chatter. I use ProATC/X and the radio is in almost constant use in all the routes I fly in Europe with just ATC for my flight and the AI around me. And even if I went transatlantic, would i really expect lots of inane chatter? I do have what I would call a realistic level of AI traffic set. Pete
  11. It isn't a Windows rule. As well as sound from P3D I have sound from pmSounds and ProSimAudio on the main Sim PC. It's not a problem, it's just a mode the application can use. Pete
  12. FSUIPC5 is the 64-bit version and only runs in Prepar3D version 4. FSUIPC4 is the 32-bit version and it remains the version for FSX, FSX-SE and all Prepar3D versions up to but not including 4. The assignments in your INI file are a bit mixed up. With several devices you should be using Joy Letters (change the parameter in [JoyNames] so that they don't get misassigned. Please post details of your X-56 problem in my Support Forum. That is where I do actually support FSUIPC. There are interim updates to FSUIPC 4.969 which might help but I need more information first. Pete
  13. But even those who follow the "recommended procedure" arrive at different interpretations. I've been informed that. for example, FSDT installers seem to install all the scenery into the Documents folder! Who would want that? By default the User Documents folder is on your System Drive, really the wrong place for scenery. I know a different folder can be selected, but many people just leave it to default. Then I understand there is confusion between all the places AddOn XML and AddOn CFG files can be. Some in the Documents folder, others in the User\AppData folder and yet others in ProgramData. And really you can't put all the blame on the implementers as the documentation for the "system" must be one of the most complex and confusing piece of technical writing I've encountered, even surpassing my own! Without your excellent AddOnOrganizer program I'd have given up! Pete
  14. No, it is always best to disable controllers. No need to delete any assignments whatsoever. FSUIPC assignments bypass all of the P3D joystick input code. It sounds like the OP is using an older version of FSUIPC as earlier problems with both X-55 and X-56 were resolved a while back, as well JoyIDs. And he/she only needs to look at the About screen in FSUIPC Options, or on most any of the documentation, or in the place where he/she downloaded FSUIPC from, to find a link to my Support Forum, which is the best place to go for Support of FSUIPC, surprisingly. Pete
  15. No need for Wideview, L-M says I can do it with one licence and four machines, three for the views, using the built-in multichannel option in P3D Pro. Alas with the space I had to make to fit in the 210 degree FOC curved screen, there's really no room for 3 or 4 PCs of adequate power. And that would be a more expensive solution in any case. L-Ms opinion seems to be that 3 video cards one for each Window would be better than using SLI. But then it would only help if P3D is still not processor limited. So the advice is try one card with all three displays connected and check the processor loadings. Then, if it looks like it will help, add the two other cards. I think this is the route I will take. Thanks, Pete
  16. I've investigated both that and a commerical product purporting to do simialr, but it seems the quality of the results is really poor, effectively degrading the projected view to normal non-HD resuoltion apparently.
  17. Yes, that would give really good performance here too, with my current system. i would have no need to upgrade. But with a 210 degree field of view such a method gives really bad fish-eye effects at both sides. Not tolerable. Hence the three windows. Pete
  18. I know I can drive three HD or three 4K screens with good performance if thery are showing one stretched P3D scenery window, but i want to avoid that. Are you saying that you have good performance with three separate P3D scenery windows at 4K? Because here, on an overlcocked 7700K (at 5GHz) AND an overclocked 1080Ti, AND with overclocked main memory too (i.e. lowered CAS values), it's okay in cruise and at simple airports, but it less than satisfactory at anything more detailed. I could get it smooth enough if I disable AI traffic, but that is not what i want as I call a busy airport with no traffic very unrealistic. Thanks,Pete
  19. With 3 windows? I asume so as I don't see the distortion you'd get at the sides otherwise. Like you I have no cockpit showing on screen. All three windows are scenery only. The screen is a curved one outside a hardware 737 cockpit. The 3 projectors are 1080p (normal HD), and currently they are connected to the one 1080Ti. But whilst it's okay when cruising, at or near and detailed airport with some AI traffic (my limit is 100) it is down to 18-25 (20-28 with Vsync off), and that's with a 7700K overclocked to 5 GHz! With one view it's about twice the performance, for the same scenery and traffic. This is with Prepar3D version 3 at present. I need a few more things sorted out before moving to version 4. I am looking to upgrade to a 7900X on an X299 motherboard, possibly with two more 1080Ti's. It was how to have thse configured which was puzzling me. But if SLI is problematic I think that puts it in favour of the separate cards for each window -- if that will help deal with the emormous penalty of having three windows. Thanks, Pete
  20. Hi folks I wonder if any P3D user has a 3 screen very wide angle setup which needs three scenery windows to be established in order to combat the horrible fisheye effect at the sides. I have a curved screen with 3 projectors and a 210 degree FOV. I am getting my local PC system builders to build me the fastest PC I believe I can specify at present as using 3 windows reduces performance overall by some 80-100% At busy detailed airports I get 18-25 fps and some stutters whereas, before, with a single window, it was never below 30 and usually hitting well over 40 in similar circumstances. I am trying to decide whether it is worth going for an SLI configuration for the video output, with all three projectors connected to the same video card, or having 3 separated video cards with a projector and scenery window on each. And if SLI, is 3 way SLI measurably better than 2-way? Or should I just stick to a single card as now? I need to make a decision withing the next two days because the builders needs some lead time and I have the screen display system designer coming over to configure the system again in a couple of weeks. I'd like to hear from anyone with experience in these matters, or at least with adequate knowledge of the working behind it all so can give a learned and considered opinion. Thanks, Pete Dowson
  21. If you use FSUIPC check you haven't enabled the use system time there, too, though it is off by default. Pete
  22. Not chased yet -- was waiting for the Hotfix to be released so L-M might have a little more time to look again. Pete
  23. No, I'm not this time -- maybe next time I'll have better luck! ;-) FSUIPC 5.103, released earlier this evening, matches P3D4 with the Hotfix instaled. Pete
  24. What warnings? That link doesn't show me anything useful, it is just a website. I'm certainly not going to download anything from a strange website! Tell me what the warnings are, in words, and from what. Pete
  25. The Schiratti site text content is not often updated (it isn't my site), but the links there go to my Support Forum, to the "Download Links" subforum. There you will always find latest versions, and often interim updates and lots of other information. My support forum is always the best place to go to for any information or downloads for any of my software. Pete
