Help to Test SimConnect in P3Dv3.2
I found the problem. The SimConnect.cfg file on the client machine for ASN_P3D now needs to be placed into a different location. [simConnect] Protocol=Ipv4 Address=10.0.0.10 (my server IP) Port=500 MaxReceiveSize=4096 DisableNagle=0 It use to be in C:/users/NAME/Documents Now it simply resides where ASN is C:\...HiFi\ASNext_P3D

Help to Test SimConnect in P3Dv3.2
I am running Prosim737. My aim is to run the main Prosim module, sounds, MCP and visuals (P3D v3.2) on my main computer. I am trying to offload everything else to the client, this includes the Prosim CDU, Captain and Copilot displays (Hardware displays) and I have screens for the overhead as well, also there is an instructors station. Prosim is working fine over the network, its works via IP addresses and FSUIPC I believe I just cant seem to get Activesky Next to run. I can read and write to all the necessary folders. So I need a way to confirm simconnect is running correctly then I can troubleshoot from there. I will try Jorge's idea of running Plan-G. Thanks for the advice so far.

Help to Test SimConnect in P3Dv3.2
I need to test Simconnect over a networked aka client computer with the server running P3Dv3.2 My overall objective is to get ActiveSkyNext(ASN) latest version B5921 on a client computer to communicate with my Server aka P3Dv3.2 computer. ASN gives me the status as trying to connect with the simulator but never connects. I have read through all the forums and ASN manual with a fine tooth comb. I need to confirm that Simconnect is working over the network (static IP 10.0.0.10 and 10.0.0.11) I have installed all 4 simconnect versions (FSXRTM, FSXSP1, FSXSP2-Xpack and ESP) Previous forums say simconnect can be tested with AITraffic but this program is not included with P3Dv3.2, there are CPP, Project build files and a filters and plan file but no simple .exe file. The FSUIPC log file can see Simconnect 3.2.0.0 but that is from the server, I need to confirm simconnect from the client Can somebody please offer any advice as to how I can test Simconnect over a network.

FSUIPC and P3D v3.2
Thanks a million Dave CBFS, the link did the trick, I had to manually install the simconnect thing from an old FSX version I tried altering the tab indent in DLL.xml and that didnt work. Once again thankyou, I love you guys.

FSUIPC and P3D v3.2
That is the sum total for the dll.xml file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>FSUIPC 4</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> I am doing a fresh install on and brand new machine, have only installed P3D v3.2, FSUIPC and Prosim737 which is a standalone program that works through FSUIPC, hence why I need FSUIPC to be working.

here is the dll.xml, can you see any errors here?? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>FSUIPC 4</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document>

FSUIPC and P3D v3.2
I am needing some help please. I am doing a new computer rebuild, I have installed win10 64bit, P3D v3.2 (ver 3.2.3.16769) FSUIPC ver 4.9.4.9h (i dont know what the 'h' means) after first installing P3D I ran it, then installed Prosim737 then I installed FSUIPC, the log file seems all good and registration process was fine. The issue is when I load P3D I cannot find the FSUIPC calibration screen, normally this sits under the menu bar within the running sim under addons, but it is not there. Does anybody know where it has gone??

Nvidia 352.86 ...!
I ran DDU and reinstalled 352.86, all seemed fine. I loaded up P3Dv2.5 with the pmdg 737ngx, I opened the FMC into 2D window mode and undocked it to move it across to my other monitor and BANG fps 30 down to 6 and unflyable, so i closed the windowed FMC and everything came right again. Has anybody else noticed this behaviour, it didnt happen in the previous driver.

Nvidia 352.86 ...!
Thanks for the reply, what is DDU?, i just used the nvidia Geforce experience updater app to update, I would assume that would do everything. I will try again and have a look at the event viewer and i will google around as to what DDU does.

Nvidia 352.86 ...!
I ran the new 352.86 driver in win8.1_64bit, P3Dv2.5, ActiveskyNext, PMDG 737NGX_P3D on a GTX690/i7-3930K_CPU and I went from 20-30fps to 6fps, (all in admin mode) I had to roll the driver back and all working fine again now, has anybody else had a frame rate hit with the new update?

CDU on an iPad?
Try Air Display for the iPad, works great, minimal lag, the only issue i found was you had to have a sliver (like only 2-3 pixels) of the FMC on the main screen but i see there has been a recent update which i havnt yet tried but will hopefully have fixed this issue. http://avatron.com/apps/air-display you can drag multiple screens across onto it, like the FMC and radios for example and resize the windows as well. Just need to make sure you undock the window from the main screen from within FSX There are other programs out there but when i looked 4 months ago air display looked the best. my setup is FSX/Win7_64 Good Luck. Saitek Pro throttle
Do yourself a favour and register FSUIPC and run all the controls through that, Dont use any inbuilt FSX axis controls. I use FSUIPC for elevator, aileron, rudder, Lt/Rt_Brakes, steering tiller. I have set up independant throttles with reverse thrust detents. (A lot easier than the saitek software) I have only just done this myself and I wish I had done it 10yrs ago, my flight experience/control response has shot up 500%, its hard to describe and I wouldnt have believed the improvement had I not done it. I am yet still learning to setup the buttons and mouse macros through FSUIPC. I can help you setup the axis's to get you started. David

NGX and The iPad 2: The Best Solution Yet
With air display I find I have to leave a little bit of the FMC on the main display as well, otherwise it works well.

rudder pedals controls the wheel
I managed to get tiller steering to work separate from the rudder, here is how i did it and it is very easy to do, I have never used FSUIPC before and I will now set all my controls through FSUIPC, why didnt I try this earlier.I have PMDG737NGX using the saitek X-65F joy/throttle combo and the rudder pedals, you need a registered copy of FSUIPC4 Obviously, I have Ver 4.703set up a flight with the aircraft you want to make the joystick settings to, you can make as many different aircraft profiles that you want with FSUIPC4.go to the 'Axis Assignment' tab in FSUIPC4I will select tiller steering as an aircraft specific setting, I dont what this on all my aircraft so I have ticked the 'Aircraft Specific' Box, FSUIPC will give the profile a name of the aircraft you have loaded automatically.Hit the 'Rescan' button, this clears any values and waits for a joystick/throttle inputnow move the axis/rotary dial/slider you want to assign the steer tiller to and numbers appear in FSUIPC, if you have trouble just hit the 'Rescan' button and move the knob again, I am using a rotary dial on top of my throttle quadrant labelled 'E'if the numbers jump or flicker continuously then enter a delta number, I have used '256' this is the equivalent of setting a null zone, when i move my rotary knob the number go between -16384 to 16383 so a 256 delta isnt very high. Also from what i read (try not to use raw mode unless you know what you are doing). the other way to set delta is move your axis until the flickering just stops and then hit the 'delta' buttonNext under the section labelled 'Type of action required' in the first of the 4 drop down boxes select 'Steering Set'you will now have the steering set to that axis. You are done, nearly--------------------------I did the same process to my rudder pedals1 hit the 'rescan' button (dont hit 'clear' as it will delete your previous settings)2 move your rudder pedals, add a delta if needed.3 'Type of action required' select rudder set from the drop down box.--------------------I also deleted the rudder axis assigned within FSX to make sure there is no conflict.Finished, now fly and enjoy.

rudder pedals controls the wheel
If you have FSUIPC4 go the the User Guide, page 44 says the following."One additional axis of note is the Steering Tiller. Note that FSX does actually provide a Steering Axis (which, when I‘ve tested, I will be adding to the calibration possibilities in FSUIPC4). The FSX offering may well make the FSUIPC4 tiller provisions redundant, but I don‘t know yet so I have retained them—it helps provide continuity for existing users of FSUIPC3 in any case. The FSUIPC4 version still uses the FS Rudder control, but can be calibrated separately (e.g. to be more responsive—use the inverse S-shaped slope options). If the steering tiller axis is assigned, you must then calibrate it in FSUIPC4's Joysticks section (this is on the same page as the PAN controls … sorry!). You need to calibrate the rudder axis in FSUIPC4 too. Then the two are used together as follows:When on the ground and at any ground speed less than 60 knots (default—adjustable by the MaxSteerSpeed parameter in the INI file), the actual FS rudder action is controlled by a blend of the tiller and rudder axis inputs. At low speed it is predominantly tiller, and as speed increases the tiller becomes gradually less effective and the rudder input more so. Above the MaxSteerSpeed, or in the air, the tiller has no effect. As with all of the axis and joystick facilities, the calibrations, assignments and parameters such as MaxSteerSpeed, can be different for different aircraft."

Engines sound has disappeared
Same problem here with the VC engine sounds disappearing but if i go into the sound settings then exit back into the flight without changing anything they come back.

How to make atmospheric dynamics more real?
Hifi sim ActiveSky Evolution (ASE) will simulate thermals (updraughts) and downdraughts and ridge lift, I have been caught out in the piper cub doing some mountain flying when I was caught in a down draught stronger than I could climb, I had to head for the upwind side of the ridge to get some extra lift.
