Engines sound has disappeared

Featured Replies

Hello Guys, please help me!I was testing Trackir 5 today morning when i noticed there weren't engines sounds on ngx.The strange thing is that i can listened to the sounds moving on ouside view or when i'm inside the cockpit moving the view to the left or to the right...Also the other planes haven't got engines sounds except c172 and b58.Thanks you very much for any reply!

i haven't solved the problem...I'll unistall everything...

Check and see in Windows sound setup if you have the correct setup for the speakers you have.

I've had problems with PMDG sound for months, in fact ever since it was released (see elsewhere in forum) I have always been under the impression that the NGX sound was developed for 5.1, maybe someone can confirm this one way or another. However, I find I can only get acceptable sound if I play it in stereo! So fellas, you are not alone.

Not sure it's the same problem, but i often get my sounds messed up when coming back to VC from external view.Recently, i've found that pressing 'q' twice to disable sounds and turn them back on brings everything to normal.Hope it helps!

It's crazy: now i am able to listen to engines sound using headphones otherwise the problem still remains...Ps: i tried to select and deselect sound using 'q' but it doesn't work...The strangest thing is the sound that comes back turning the view to the left or to the right...May someone of Support help us to fix the problem?!

Hi Guiseppe, Thanks for adding your name.Your issue is related to your soundcard configuration in Windows - you have most likely selected "Surround Sound" or similar while you are only using stereo speakers. In Windows, goto your soundcard options or control panel and make sure your soundcard is outputting in "Stereo Mode" and not "Surround Sound Mode".Also turn off other items unique to your soundcard like "3D Effect" / "Ambience" / "Noise Cancelling" / "Bass Boost" or similar. That should fix it!

Hi Armen, just to confirm once and for all, can you please say whether the NGX is developed for 5.1 surround sound or just stereo. That would be helpful, many thanks.
