March 2, 201214 yr Hi Howard,The NGX was predominantly developed for Stereo usage, as the Surround Sound implementation in FSX is very basic.MS did not implement Surround Sound in the outside view at all and in the cockpit it is pretty basic stuff - the FSX engines come out of the rear speakers while the FSX wind and environment sounds come out of the front speakers.Personally I prefer Stereo only , but some do like the engines playing back from behind them! If you are in surround mode with surround speakers, by default the engines only playback from the rear speakers - only when you turn your head left or right in the cockpit then FSX plays back the engine sounds in the front speakers as well. This is the way MS programmed it - So if you want the engines to play from the front speakers all the time for any aircraft in FSX you must turn off surround mode on your soundcard in Windows. For ages I have been trying to get the sound to play in 5.1! For some reason this is how I understood it should be played. Now I know that stereo is in fact the correct setting, it all makes sense, cheers. :( HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776

March 5, 201214 yr Author Hi Armen and others guys!In these two days i have tested my headphones Logitech G35 with on and off 7.1 mode and i haven't had cockpit sounds but just the engines...could you help me?Thanks!
March 5, 201214 yr Giuseppe,Goto the FMC / Sound options and make sure the soundcard device selected there is the one you are currently using - pay attention to which channel you are selecting there as you have many outputs for your 7.1 soundcard. Armen L CholakianPMDG Sound Engineer

March 6, 201214 yr Since I installed SP1c I too have no engine sounds for the 700/800/900 NGX, but have them for the 600. All other cockpit and external noises seem to be working including switches, ground roll, spoilers, and some of the reverse thrust sound. I have not altered any settings on my computer or within FSX. I've looked at the config and sound files and didn't see anything incorrect or missing and have verified sound card settings are correct (and have pressed "Q" to reset sounds). I also reinstalled Direct X. Anyone have suggestions before I try reinstalling what Armen suggests and/or submit a ticket to the PMDG folks?Pete
March 11, 201214 yr Guys, we all have to ask to Pmdg people we had no any sound problem since Sp1c releasing and what happened with Sp1c and we lost engine sounds?Until Sp1c I was hearing all sounds selected 5.1 and if most people having this problem now that means the problem with Sp1c and Pmdg people must say somethings about it!
