  1. Thanks for the reply. After all I think I've found a solution that cured it for me - I disabled the hardware acceleration in MS Edge. Since then Alt-tabbing doesn't make my MSFS2024 freeze.
  2. Hi, have you found a solution to this? I have the same issue.
  3. Hi, you've probably sorted it out but for anyone else wondering how to install PacSim RKSI from the installer if you don't have MSFS2020 installed anymore. You need to fake MSFS2020 install, then the installer works. Faking installation of the simulator - Contrail Support Portal
  4. Why are you guys still bit*ing "I hope they are working on the fix"? I am pretty sure that HiFi are working hard on it.
  5. No questions? :( Oh, it must be you then who can determine what's good and what's bad! Only a handful accepted FSX? B) Comparing FSX to Vista... Well done :( I like Vista and I love FSX. I would never go back to the oldies XP and FS9, so "face it" but keep us informed what's good and what's bad! :(
  6. If you mean that terrain file etc. then I fear it's gone...
  7. I guess you should try to buy the MD-11. This happens with pirated copies...
  8. Ok, I reproduced the problem and I am attaching the log files.Marek

However, this is only one bug I have found in ASA. Everything else works fine (the beta version fixed my connection problem /no connection/ after launching FSX) and thank you HiFi for the awesome addon!!!Marek
  10. I agree with you, SK-1323,it would be great but I doubt that's going to happen. With that new version of MSFS it will be the same situation as now with FS9 vs. FSX. At the time of its release there will be no addon for it, no PMDG aircraft, nothing. Do you think that everyone will immediately throw his FS9 or FSX away? I don't think so. We will hold a similar discussion like this. By the way, why some FS9 users argument that today's hardware can't fly FSX MAXED OUT? Is that so important? I fly with above average details and it still looks better than FS9 and I achieve suitable FPS for me. FSX still has a potential and when I get a better machine next year, I will put the sliders more to the right. I love FSX (as I loved FS9) and I guess I'm not alone. Some FS9 users just can't understand why some people like something they consider to be a crap.
  11. A little bit arrogant but whatever... The numbers don't lie, that's true but only FS9 lovers like you can't understand that this forum and any poll here can never represent all MSFS users. How many of them buy PMDG addon's and visit this forum? Please tell me the "number that doesn't lie"... I just looked at the simflight poll and FS9 44% / FSX 40%. Not bad for 2 YEARS 2 MONTHS old sim. I bet FSX will have a bigger rate next year as today's high-end PC hardware gets cheaper and that's a trend you can't stop with any numbers :-)
  12. I agree. Pure FSX was a disaster and they should have tested it more before the release. But now, with SP2, no problems on my side.
  13. Czesc Rafal,I know that I cannot apply that to all FS9 users. Most FS9 users have some logical reasons for sticking with the older MSFS version and I fully understand them (FSX is too demanding on expensive high-end PC hardware; they have tons of addon's for FS9 and invested too much money to just throw it away now; FSX does not bring anything new for them and they don't care about the visual benefits of it much either etc.) but this opinion that FS9 is more "serious" simulator is just beyond me. ACES have ADDED features to FSX, they have not REMOVED them, so such a statement seems like an ungrounded nonsense to me.Marek
  14. I just love these posts. Their only purpose is to start another flame-war between FS9 and FSX. Hey erjpilot, can you list some thoughts for such a statement? Or is it just because YOU still use FS9, so it must be better? The funniest thought around the flightsim world is without any doubt that FS9 is a professional simulation for professional pilots and FSX is just a game because it has only better graphics. Hmm, funny. Then, according to this logic, FS2002 was more professional than FS9, FS2000 was more professional than FS2002 etc. etc. Isn't the better graphics one of the reasons why ACES develop a new version of the flight sim? Isn't the better graphics good for making the simulation even closer to reality? What extra for the professionals does FS9 have, erjpilot? FSX has the same features plus it improves them. Maybe PMDG developers could tell us what FSX brings to them during an aircraft development. So tell me, FS9 users, why do you think that FS9 is more professional?? I would like to know because two years ago I left the hard-core flightsim world and joined "stupid" gamers...Regards, Marek
  15. Jim,that's absolutely cruel from you guys! :(
  16. Yes, the price seems very good to me. I just can't wait... (checking this forum every 10 minutes :( )
  17. Czesc Rafal :( Actually it wasn't a poll but their market research, sorry for a misinformation:http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=19472Again, that isn't an accurate indicator of the FS9 - FSX rate (and this poll isn't either) but it's a point of view of one big publisher.Marek
  18. Well, this poll shows nothing. Not all PMDG customers visit this forum or they do not care about any polls and they just read. Aerosoft did make a poll like this some weeks ago with exactly opposite results - the most of their customers use and buy FSX products and they are not only hard-core aircraft addon buyers but most of them also buy scenery addon's, utilities etc. So, where's the truth? What makes me upset is that the majority of FS9 users who criticize FSX don't have any or a very little experience with FSX. They have read some (mostly) ungrounded "opinions" on FSX, they don't use it and so it must be a piece of cr*p. I have used FS9 for about three years, I bought many addon's for it and last year I switched to FSX, so it has been almost two years with FSX for me and I don't regret my choice at all. The visual appearance is very important to me, as it makes my feeling of "really being there" much stronger and in this field FSX is the winner without any doubt (FS9 engine has its limits and that's a plain fact). Nothing can beat FSX with UTX or FTX (inside any PMDG aircraft, of course ;-) at the moment and that's just one thing of many why I would never go back to FS9. But I understand people who stick with FS9. However, I don't tell them that they use a piece of s..t and I expect the same from them...Marek
  19. Chris, sorry but I don't understand how is that related to my story. I wrote that I use FSX under Vista 32-bit and I do NOT have any OOM errors anymore (with DisablePreload and AlacrityPC). Maybe other users who experience OOM's under Vista 32-bit could try that. It helped me a lot and now I can fully enjoy the excellent PMDG airplanes...Marek
  20. Hi guys,I was occasionally suffering from OOM errors when flying PMDG 747X (exclusively during approaches to big airports after long haul flights) and with MD-11 it was even worse. Sometimes I experienced the error even after short hauls. Anyway, I edited my fsx.cfg and added that DISABLEPRELOAD=1 line into it, and I started to use Ken Salter's AlacrityPC program which disables all unnecessary services and background tasks before launching FSX. And you know what? No OOM with 747 or MD-11 since that! I do not even need to use that 3G switch even when I use memory consuming add-on's like UTX, GEX and ASX. My config: Vista SP1 32-bit, 4 GB RAM.Marek
  21. Hi,thank you for such a fantastic software as Active Sky X! However, I am still unable to import flight plans. I hoped the SP2 will help but it does not :-(Here is what happens: I create my flight plan .pln in FS Commander 8.2 and then I try to import it in the Briefing section of ASX. Then I always get a window with greyed Departure ID and Destination ID, and with zeroes in the fields Cruise Speed and Cruise Altitude. Alternate ID remains empty and white (I can write into it). Am I doing something wrong? I tried to load the plan into FSX, save it in its fully native format and then import it into ASX but it does not help either. My specs: Windows Vista Home Premium (czech version), FSX with SP1, Sony Vaio FZ21M (C2D, GF8400, 2GB RAM).Thank you.
