PacSim RKSI MSFS2024 not installable

Featured Replies

As still soooo many sceneries for MSFS2020 are not officially updated to support MSFS2024 (a real bummer) and it is extremely cumbersome to keep track manually by checking forums and pages, I slowly started to add the one or other MSFS2020 scenery into my MSFS2024 library. So far with good success. However, with PacSim RKSI I fail. Not because it is not compatible, but because I dont even get it installed. It simply fails to install, I fear it is somehow checking if MSFS2020 is present or not. Anybody successfully managed to INSTALL it into MSFS2024?

Hi @AnkH - It works successfully using MSFS Addons Linker. With both MSFS 2020 and 2024 installed, MSFS Addons Linker saves the trouble and disk space of installing scenery folders twice. Set your underlying addon file structure with 3 folders something like this and then you can easily test out existing MSFS 2020 addons in MSFS2024

  • MSFS2020 Only
  • MSFS2024 Compatible
  • MSFS2024 Only

Here's a link to how my directory structure translates to addons in MSFS Addons Linker

So, as long as you've got PacSim RKSI currently installed in MSFS 2020, it should work for you in MSFS 2024 using this method... NB: the first time RKSI loads in MSFS2024 took about 5 minutes - I think because it includes a large aerial image file of the area surrounding the airport

Its a 11,7GB install and it only installed to MSFS2020 here.

I have the space so just copy paste to 2024 as well.

Hi,

you've probably sorted it out but for anyone else wondering how to install PacSim RKSI from the installer if you don't have MSFS2020 installed anymore. You need to fake MSFS2020 install, then the installer works.

Actually I just let the installer run for about 1h and then the scenery was installed. This was the advice from the dev itself, somehow the installer is looking for MSFS2020 installation and it takes ages to overcome this check. But once it is, it will install even without MSFS2020 being installed, it just needs a ton of patience 😉 Maybe your fake installation of MSFS2020 is faster then...

“Haha, wow—same here! I just did this last night. I really love the PacSim scenery, but I had to reinstall MSFS2020 and copy it over to my MSFS2024 folder. Honestly, faking it with a dummy folder might’ve been easier! 😅 Really hoping the dev releases a compatible installer soon.”

Anyone know if they have found a way to install it for 2024 without needing to install 2020?

Not yet that I've found, but PacSim is working towards an update to RKSI with MSFS 2024 support, so installation support without needing to install 2020 and other enhancements, no ETA though.

I asked PacSim via their email address.

Oh man, I wish I heard about this scenery a long time ago.  I've been waiting for RKSI for a long time on all the major purchase managers and didn't come across this one.  I have a few sceneries bought from independent sources, but it makes it so hard to keep track of when MSFS requires so many.  I'm converting over to MSFS2024, and it's only 2 planes and Chaseplane left.  KSLC was another one I really needed - again from this dev.  Can I buy these two and safely use in 2024? Do they work right with the install hack?

It works successfully for me in 2024. I also use addon linker. No problems. All their sceneries work well in 2024.

Works for me. just drag it over or duplicate the folder or use addon linker.  First load was lengthy, use a simple aircraft to lower the load time.

Then go search RKSI gates to get the gates to work.  Works fine for me.  Soeone recently fixed TechnoBrain RJBB on flightsim.to as well.

PacSim RKSI Jetway Fix

The PacSim RKSI Jetways Fix addresses the issue of non-functioning jetways at Incheon International Airport in Microsoft Flight Simulator. This add-on disables a conflicting helipad that prevents the jetways from operating correctly. Installation is straightforward, requiring users to place the provided folder into their MSFS Community directory. It is primarily built for MSFS 2024, with potential compatibility for MSFS 2020 pending user feedback.

The airport itself is really nice but old.

The city on the other hand reminds me of P3D.

And then there is the 11 GB of hdd??

Hold moly

Yeah, no idea where those 11GB go, as the airport is considerably lesser in detail than e.g. EGLL or KLAX from Ini. Guess it is mostly due to new sattelite imaginery.
