Anybody else still unable to access the MSFS forum? It has been a month now of no access! I am still able to login to the Insider area and the simulator. They keep saying they are going to do something but...... Please don't delete my post! I am trying to get their attention. yes I tried the hacks....no joy!

Are you sure about the vertical speed with AP?? I have been Flying Bruce's simulator since 1982 and never noticed. (heavy AP user)?????? Never used the KB to fly so unsure about this....

1 Turn off system sounds and all sounds (muting doesn't count) 2 Turn off screen saver, only use blank screen or off 3 turn off background image, only use solid color 4 Set windows to prefer "optimize for Performance" 5 Turn off disc Indexing 6 Turn off system recovery 7 Do NOT use an Anti virus EVER!! Do not surf Porn, password crackers, free music/ movie/ software sites (Pirating) and You will be fine !!!!caveat emptor!!!! Avoid surfing the internet on a Simming rig, when you do only visit reputable flight sim sites! 8 Turn off anything/ everything running in the background unless Windows or Simulator needs it 9 Do not ever install ANYTHING that is not related to the Simulator 10 Buy a high powered rig! Flight simulators are the single most power hungry piece of software ever created for the PC 11 NEVER EVER let children "play" or surf on your simming rig!!! children can trash a system faster than anything I have ever seen! But by all means let them explore Flight simulation if they seriously want to learn aviation, supervise and guide them...... I have been simming for 37 years, started on a Timex Sinclair and flew FS when Bruce Artwick still owned it (Sub Logic) Warning! AT YOUR OWN RISK ONLY.... Oh Yea! never ever use Windows web browser ie: Internet Exploder except to download a different browser....

Mario, I'm talking about looking out of the window, not about trying to qualify for space shuttle test pilot. I'm aware of what You are talking about. And NO the monitors on My sim are what ever I happen to be looking at not just the windshield. Does anybody know WHY the roll axis for TrackIR is disabled? Austin? What are You thinking? It is so natural to roll Your head to match the horizon while rolling the aircraft. This simulator is coming along so beautifully! What a sensation of flight! Suspended from a wing thats supported by molecules of gas. Believable hights and distances. Actual wind. Lights, colors, reflections, shadows, detailed textures all make for convincing visuals. all this and I cant tilt my head? Five degrees of freedom??? but not the sixth? Come on Austin, #####?

Yea Pirata, I forgot I knew that (FOV render/settings) that's not My problem, My problem is eyepoint. This is the term Microsoft used-it is the point in space relative to the 3D cockpit where Your view emanates from. Expressed as X,Y,Z coordinates some times accompanied with a zoom value. The name is different depending on the simulator. FSX, and DCS eyepoint settings are easy to find and edit but I have no Idea how its done in XP. Also just noticed that XP10 disables the roll axis of TrackIR Hmmm (???)

Hello All, Does anybody know how to change the default eyepoint and FOV for 3D cockpits in X-Plane10 ?

Oops, forgot that one. Its a 1000 watt Antec. The CPU/GPU temps. appear to be within Manufatures specs. i.e. 80% of max. I can't get a snapshot of conditions at crash I wish I could that would lead Me to the Problem....maybe an app that logs this info???

Please view My sig for details, Home built dedicated only to flight simming no pdf viewers, no print drivers, NOTHING unless its FSX. Here is My problem...very randomly My screens will all go the same color (random each time) audio plays but does not sound like its looping just continues to play, hard to tell with aircraft engine sound witch i guess loops anyway. caps lock key works for about 45 sec. and then nothing..cant get to task manager, ctrl, alt, del. does not work, have to hold the power button in for 15 sec to restart and then the "windows didn't shut down properly" screen "what do you want to do?"...start Windows normally....Don't know if its cpu, video, or what the heck it is..Anybody know of a way to tell?? TIA.

What about the 3D water surface with shadows and environment reflections, The nice looking clouds, Lens flare, and the physics (or behavior) of the aircraft in the announcement video??

My system aint top notch, but turning off the wind smoothing stuff works great for Me, I love ASX! I really miss FS9/AS6 I read all the reviews and the web sites misleading tales of FEX and ended up with a buggyass over complicated and unnecessary GUI that installs fancy #### textures into FSX for 40+dollars, needless to say I'm sticking with ASX!

Try turning off the wind smoothing stuff on the settings tab in ASX it fixed the prob. for Me and I see no adverse effects in FSX. It's as though its opposite of what it should be. Uncheck Enable Wind Data Smoothing, and Uncheck Enable Wind Shift Stabilization. The Winds Aloft settings didn't seem to make a difference for Me. Good Luck

Hey David, If it makes You feel any better it is happening to Me as well! Through logical trouble-shooting I have discovered other things as well, I can safely say that most suggestions in this thread do not apply to You and I. Let Me explain..after installing ASX I too noticed the speed jump on landing, I had to come in at stall speed on the threshold and DON'T bounce, cause every bounce shot Me faster and faster till the runway disappeared under Me at 300' agl and 140 knots! Next I notice if you do a hard bank after takeoff things get weird- stall alarm and a straight drop to the earth as though you never had airspeed, even though I was well inside of the flight envelope for the AC. Next I noticed the higher the wind speed and the greater the directional changes of the wind the worse the problem got (thanks to flying around Hurricane Gustavf!) Started checking other default A/C and the prob. was in so many A/C I just assumed it was all of them and had Nothing to do with FSX (sort of). At the same time the engine sounds quit matching throttle settings (Hmmm?)and did not match the rpm gauge it was also messing with auto throttle on A/C that had that function, reminded me of the buggyass FSNAV/FS9 auto pilot thingy. Ok the first thing that came to mind was tailwind gusts, I checked it many times and was mostly headwind as normal for landing this is when I noticed the radical dir./speed changes how could this be ASX has wind smoothing (shift and data)??? So I turned off the wind smoothing stuff and wala no more weirdness! Its like those settings are amplifiers instead of smoothers. My theory = not quite sure still isolating things, but My suspicion is I should have never installed FSUIPC on this system! Let us know....
