  1. I was just waiting to hear what you folks thought of the sound and FDE. Like I said before, there is NOTHING like this for FSX before. A true game changer.
  2. For Europe it comes with liveries for Wideroe, FlyBe, Lufthansa Regional, Luxair, SATA, Skywork, SAS Commuter, Air Baltic, Air Berlin, Croatia, EuroLOT, Austrian and many others all high quality liveries
  3. So what will be YOUR first Q400 flight? I found that flying into LOWI was my best experience.
  4. In the real aircraft I believe that rudder steering is only operational over a certain speed. When on your TO run the tiller steer becomes inop over a certain speed and you then have to use rudders to steer. When you try it you will see that is not an issue at all.
  5. From the MJC forum The flight dynamics of the MJC400 utilizes an open source JsbSim flight dynamics engine, which is a successor of the LARCSIM built by NASA. The flight dynamics is therefore will still be used even in the addon for the Microsoft Flight Simulator, as the Microsoft flight simulator will be “repositioned” using the JsbSim output, but will not be “flying” as such. The JSBSIM flight dynamics has the following advantages over the Microsoft own flight dynamics: · Correct ground dynamics – The airplane wheels friction is correctly simulated by the JsbSim, preventing the aircraft from “skidding” on takeoff, landing or even taxi with side wind. · The JsbSim works with a rate of 125Hz versus 30Hz in the Microsoft flight dynamics, potentially providing a 4 times better responses to the flight conditions. · JsbSim also gives a full control on gear positions, allowing us to fully simulate the gear malfunctions (not locking, failure to retract or extend) · Lift due to propeller airstream simulation: with JsbSim we also simulate the changes in the wing lift due to the propeller created airstream, the effect without which the correct turboprop flight dynamics during takeoff and landing is impossible to achieve.
  6. Very true! I think the entire community will be VERY surprised. Because the dynamics are outside of FSX it will be a very new experience for everyone. Out of all the aircrafts I have flown the NGX is very unique but the Q400 surpasses the experience (even though it is an entirely diff aircraft) The "feel" is alot more realistic (This from my own personal flying experience in the real world and talking to Dash 8 pilots)
  7. +1 I won't worry about this product being at the level of the NGX. You will quickly see that it is at that level and higher. This is no exaggeration it is THAT good. The handling of this aircraft is unlike anything you have ever flown before. The best results will come if you have rudder pedals.
  8. Sounds good. I think instead of reading how good a graphics card really is. We need to see a high quality video that will be clear enough for anyone to make an informed decision.
  9. Hi all, I know that PMDG released a livery for Caribbean Airlines but I am wondering if one of you painters can assist in doing an updated version? Since the release of the liveries the Caribbean Airlines livery has changed slightly with the addition of a small sticker that highlights the 50th year of independence. 9Y-GEO has addition titles on it as well. I would really appreciate if someone can update these liveries and perhaps add 1 or 2 additional registrations. 9Y-GEO http://jetphotos.net...7522291&nseq=12 9Y-POS http://jetphotos.net...=7521476&nseq=0 9Y-ANU http://jetphotos.net...=7550149&nseq=2 Air Jamaica ( Caribbean Airlines ) http://jetphotos.net...=7539845&nseq=1 http://jetphotos.net...=7518236&nseq=1 Other photos can be found on airliners.net
  10. 1. Where is the hobby of Flight Simulation headed? 2. Are we at a plateau as it relates to the features that can be implimented in current FS platforms? (FSX/P3D & X-Plane) 3. Will PMDG venture into the world of Regional aircraft? (Embraer & ATR specifically) 4. Most simmers are clueless as to how much work goes into developing an add-on aircraft. Can you enlighten the community on what is involved? (From day 1 to the day of release) I understand that you may not be able to share everything, but giving the community an insider view of the work involved may be beneficial to simmers having much more respect and appreciation for developers. 5. What advice would you give to someone who wants to make a full-time or part-time career in developing FS add-ons?
  11. Ok, enough of the AMD vs GTX. Statements such as this "Looks" better than the other is not relevant unless you have clear evidence. As mentioned before, what looks good is subject to ones perception. If you have clear evidence whether photos or preferably video then there can be a more constructive debate. I am not looking to spend more than $250 on a new card because I am not fussy over having the best FSX in the world. I just want my setup to look crisp and to run smoothly while using high end scenery and aircraft add-ons.
  12. Speaking from first hand experience with this aircraft you will be missing alot of the fun if you rely too heavily on FS2Crew. This aircraft is very different to what you may be use to!
  13. Anyone at all willing to help out?
  14. All things considered, a 727 for FSX would do very well. I personally think that the other well known 727 for FSX has missed the mark since its developer has not fixed many issues with it.
  15. This aircraft is going to be the best release in YEARS
  16. Thanks for pointing that out. But would it really take years to do another model only upgrade for the MD-11? I can understand the logic behind gambling with a 727 but I think at some point PMDG may have to come to terms with the fact that when you do all the popular planes first..all that's left are the ones that are not so common. As for the piracy issue, I am glad to hear that this has been resolved and I am sure this played a significant role in killing the MD-11 but I hope that the current market will be favorable to the MD-11 and the hard work you guys put into it. As for a 727, that could go either way. There are customers who would buy it because they love 727s, love any older generation aircraft or would simply buy anything once it comes from PMDG lol. But you are right, the honest fact is that you guys can spend 3 years developing the 727 and it flops. So does this mean that older PMDG releases that didn't sell very well ( assuming the MD-11 isn't the only one ) won't be supported or issued Service Packs in the future?
  17. Quick question Ryan, you mentioned that previous sales were the deciding factor. But as I had posted under another topic (with limited knowledge of the facts) Couldn't it be that the MD-11 didn't do well due to marketting and loss of interest over the years of development? Coming closer to the release of the NGX there was alot of hype and anticipation not only because the NGX was soon to come but because the NGX provided a level of "realism" that has never been seen before. In addition to this it was one of the first 737 simulations entirely for FSX at a point were most users were migrating to FSX? I firmly understand the reasoning for not wanting to journey down this road again due to past experiences but is there any data that shows people will feel the same way today? FSX has gain many users since then and some are seeing the MD-11 for the first time and inquiring about it. I am not sure if people are still buying it ( I guess you would have that info) but this raises an interesting topic. How do you survey a community on what they want when only a percentage post their views on forums? Some simply read reviews and then they buy, others ask alot more questions. I guess its a tricky situation for developers to gauge which product will do well and which wouldn't.
  18. At some point PMDG will run out of "popular" aircrafts to develop. What then?
  19. Well we have just about all classes of aircraft fully covered except Military that are at a high fidelity when it comes to systems. Regional aircrafts make up the life blood of aviation these days and they are very under represented.
  20. So I was just wondering if there is any interest in an Ejet series done to the level of PMDG's current productline? This would include a high fidelity E170/175 & E190/195. I have used the one that is currently available but after all these years I think its time for a more in-depth simulation of this popular regional aircraft.
  21. Thats true but I am sure there are reasons for this other than the fact that the 747 is more popular in real life than the MD-11. There must have been external factors such as those I outlined in previous posts. To me, if something doesn't sell very well you have to analyse the reasons why and I am doubtful that the reason is that the community does not like the MD-11. Also, in 2013 I am sure PMDG has a customer base that did not exist back when the MD-11 was released. So all of this can account for why a product may have done poorly years earlier. What is noteworthy is that you have persons who are only NOW discovering the MD-11.
  22. How is data that the community does not what an update to the MD-11 collected? Apart from prior sales, it would be difficult to determine this wouldn't it? As time goes by, opinions and needs of the community can change. Has it ever been determined exactly why the MD-11 didn't perform well? While I understand the business side of this decision, how can one be sure that the 747v2 will do as well as the NGX or even the 747 v1? I am just trying to figure out how developers choose aircrafts they will develop or continue to support. I am always intrigued by this since some choices are flat out great while others....well not so great. There are a large number of individuals who do not voice their opinions on public forums but many of them read public forums to help them determine which aircraft they should buy.
  23. I hope no one is offended by me asking this question but this is coming from my limited knowledge of the circumbstances around the MD-11 release. 1. Could it be that the MD-11 did not do very well due to the lengthy development and loss of interest on the part of potential customers? 2. Could it be that unlike the NGX, the MD-11 did not receive as much "marketing" ? It was said that the NGX sold more in the first day or hour than the MD-11 did over a long period of time. But I am wondering couldn't this have been the case due to the NGX getting much more promotion over the months and weeks leading up to its release? Also, the features of the NGX were at a level that simmers have never experienced before. So could it have done well simply because (in addition to the 737 being popular) it was a totally new experience that peaked the interest of everyone in the FS community? My 2 cents
  24. So, this is my PC specs AMD FX-8120 3.1GHz 64 bit Eight-Core Processor Cache Per Processor 8MB L2 Cache 8GB DDR3 1333 1TB SATAII 7200RPM AMD Radeon HD 6670 1GB Sound card - Integrated Power Supply 700W Windows 8 I am considering an upgrade on my graphics card and I was wondering which would be the best choice? I have alot of scenery and addon aircrafts so I need something high-end but not overly expensive.
