  1. I am curious, when someone says FTX Global is better than GEX, does this mean that FTX "Loooks" better or FTX has a more "Accurate" representation of what the ground looks like?
  2. Hi, I am trying to install the GNS430 on the Coolsky DC-9-30 but no matter what I do it just doesn't work. The last time I tried I got an error message that the hypergauge failed to load and the GNS430 and 530 for all of aircraft installations stopped working. I had to reinstall the product all over again.
  3. You can always ask Michel Moskal about that. He is the producer/owner of Just Planes and he is always willing to respond to questions. Go to their website and you should see some way of contacting them. While I have reviewed many of his programs I am not so sure I can give you the best answer as he would.
  4. It would be a nice surprise to see it they had indeed finished the Dash 8. Other than that, I think everyone will agree that a 767-200/300 (Including Freighter Models) would be huge success.
  5. They showed a dash 8 model afterward
  6. Is PMDG still making a Dash 8 or was that project completely scrapped?
  7. Right now the only aircraft I would like to see is a new 767/757. Too much focus has gone to the 737s and A320s...
  8. Which variants of the 747 will be developed? Will the cargo versions include the BCF, LCF or the 8F?
  9. Has anyone been able to integrate the Flight1 Aspen EFD1000 with this aircraft?
  10. You can also get good advice on this topic over at the airlinepilotforums
  11. First of all, what do you really want to do? Do you want to be a pilot for a U.S Airline or go back to your home country and fly there? Anyways, if you want to be a pilot that's great. If you want to do a 4 year aviation degree at the best (aka most expensive schools) thinking it will give you an advantage then you are mistaken. Let's put things in perspective. You do a 4 year degree and then spend 1 or 2 years trying to build your time to the minimums. Ok, at the same time, someone else can complete their training in 6-9 months, spend 2 years building their time as an instructor and end up in the right seat of a regional airline. Quite frankly, by the time you qualify for your first job, that F.O will be earning slightly more than you do doing the same job while having spent far less to get there. In aviation it's not about what school you go to...its all about whether you can actually fly an aircraft safely. I am quite sure that the pilots who complain the most about their salaries are those who went to "prestigious" schools and spent a fortune and saw little in return. Don't be fooled by the hype. If your dream job REQUIRES a degree, then get a degree from an accredited school if you must. But just keep in mind that many do not go down this route and they still end up getting the same job with the same pay. As for you comments on Community College........................ Keep in mind that some persons who can afford to go to "prestigious" universities choose not to do so simply because they know better..
  12. Get you license, get your instructor ratings and build your time. Getting an aviation degree might quite frankly be a waste of your money. If you want a good backup plan, learn a skill or do some kind of vocational training. It can never make any sense to spend over $100K to get a license and degree to work for pennies.... In addition to this, having a degree does not significantly increase your chances of being hired by an airline unless it's a major airline that specifically requires it. In the end, it's up to you if you really want to go to a university but many haven't and they are doing just fine. When you join a regional airline you will meet others who didn't get degrees and you will have the same salary they do.
  13. Maybe there should be a topic with configurations for various products? (A2A, Carenado, RealAir etc...)
  14. Will there be any further updates to the 430/530? Any new features or refinements perhaps?
  15. I am having no problems whatsoever. Just remember folks that previous wx radars have given the impression that once there are clouds out there you "must" see something, but as was mentioned before, sometimes it will show nothing. At the moment I am headed across the atlantic and for the first hour or so I had no rendering on my wx radar. Shortly after passing some weather systems over Shannon, my wx radar picked up some bad wx to the north of my position.
  16. I meant the CS 777. Saying its a picture viewer may be true to some extend but it is better than nothing and I have found it useful thus far. If we have to view charts on the EFB then no matter who develops it, it will always be a "picture viewer" Remember, FSX isn't real life and it would be impossible to fully simulate an EFB with ALL the accuracies of the real thing.
  17. I am looking for a detailed, high quality United (post merger) livery for the NGX. Can anyone point me in the right direction or perhaps take on the challenge of painting one? I saw some in the library but they weren't what I was looking for. Some were VERY dirty and others had incorrect fonts for "United" or incorrect colour shades etc.....
  18. The EFB in the "other" 777 came off quite well.
  19. The main reason for this poll is to see whether simmers want a simplified way of navigating by using the default FSX GPS that is integrated into an addon aircraft or would they rather that the aircraft have a fully functional FMS or GPS system (G430 etc). Some developers have taken the approach of developing products that have a number of systems properly simulated, but when it comes to the FMS/GPS, they choose to use the default FSX GPS as a basis for the navigation system they included. I am not saying that they shouldn't do this since each developer has the right to do what they think is right or best for them. But the real question is whether or not simmer actually prefer this approach?
  20. Thought it would be interesting to see whether simmers prefer a complex aircraft (737,777 or Modern Business jets) that use a fully simulated FMS or the Default GPS for flight planning.
  21. I am considering a graphics card upgrade and I was wondering if any of you can recommend a good ATI graphics card for under $200.00 AMD FX-8120 8GB RAM MSI 760GM-P34 FX motherboard. It's not the best PC but I want to get the most I can out of it for P3D mostly.
  22. No prob. I just thought it was be useful and having easy access would be nice. Thanks for the suggestion, I will do that instead.
  23. I think this topic should be pinned.
  24. ATR orders have grown significantly but it still hasn't captured the U.S market sufficiently. I am sure MJC will look at this as a possible project after their Q300. You can't get more popular than regional airliners. The A3XX line is already being developed by 2-3 developers so entering that market would be a wise move. The CRJ line is also being covered and this only leave Embraer. Aircraft such as the E175 and E190s have become very popular in recent times and if many people were willing to purchase a very rare aircraft such as the JS41 simply because of its advanced programming, how much more so an aircraft that has had over 1000 models built and can be seen at almost every airport? Ultimately I know its PMDG's decision but I can't help but be interested in knowing what's up their sleeve since they have basically said "no" to many popular aircraft. The only other aircraft that may be worth their time would be a 767 or 787 but after that there really isn't anything else left.
  25. Considering that there were over 1000 EMB170/190 series built, it is a VERY popular aircraft. The JS41 only had about 100 built......
