  1. Leonardo:No problem - happy to help...CheersPaul
  2. Hi Leonardo:It just means the CDU on the effohs side of the flight deck is still in it's init mode, and the aircraft doesnt know what to do with it, or what information to take (if any).Just click it to window, set it to FMC, and close it again, that will sort the Level 0 Alert out for you.CheersPaul
  3. Not too sure if i understand your point there Eric ???PMDG = Aircraft Add OnsFTX; REX; FEX; UTX = Environmental Add OnsWhy would they need to get together? If anything, they already are together, on my machine at least...ASX; UTX Europe, USA, Canada; FEX and FS Genesis.... My machine handles all that quite well, although after todays JFK/LHR run, a well known heathrow add on is certainly proving to be a little too extreme, for anything but a super computer. Why exactly can Fly Tampa make an ENTIRE CITY for FSX that has little to no impact on frames, while other dev's seemingly cant do a single airport that doesnt require a 90Gig CPU? Seemingly, it is possible! ;)CheersPaul
  4. Hi Guys:Me again ;)Had a response from Christian at TopCat, seems that he has been in contact with Robert, and so far, there is not a lot that PMDG can do due to their NDA with Boeing.Looks like i am going to have to start doing some test flying then.CheersPaul
  5. Hi guys:Thought i would bump this topic up as i am awaiting a response from the Topcat guys. Given the discussion that i had with Robert regarding the Perf Data that (so far) Boeing are unwilling to release, it seems that the TopCat guys are going to have a bit of a mission on their hands to get this going.as so many PMDG users wish to have access to topcat, and ideally for Topcat to suggest an optimised Dial-A-Flap setting, perhaps that this is something the two companies, PMDG and Topcat, could consider a collaboration on. I appreciate that the Boeing data is sensitive, if somewhat redundant unless they are planning on building more MD-11's, however as PMDG were permitted to use the data for creation of the aircraft, it could be argued that in order to create a more 'complete' product, that the TopCat team should be permitted to utilise the data within TC. Certainly, some sort of NDA would have to be signed i should imagine, but surely it is not out of the realms of possibility?Just my $0.02CheersPaul
  6. OopsPipped to the post by Michael...CheersPaul
  7. Hi Andrew:Engine Thrust Ref's are generally down to engine manufacturer. Some like to use the EPR as their reference others N1. If i recall correctly, PW and RR like to use EPR, whereas GE tend to use N1.Try changing to a model with different engines...CheersPaul
  8. Hi Erik:1. There was a post, but i've searched for abou 15 Mins and give up. If you have FSUIPC, this is a simple fix as you can reverse axis for the aircraft on an individual basis.PMDG are aware of the problem however. It was a result of fixing something else, and in reflecting the reversal of the axis, they reversed the reversal :-hmmm (er - Michael explained it far better) They are working on it - in the meantime, your workaround will have to do.EDIT: Found the thread for you http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=156762&page=4 - Cheers2. Could be related to thishttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=156922&page=3Cant say i've noticed the throttle / Yoke isseu with it though. I did have some bizarre stalls and speed issues on my EGKK/KATL trip yesterday that i out down to sudden massive wind shifts (havent yet sorted out my FSUIPC wind smoothing) i also found that setting the thrust limit tp CLB in the cruise helps get around that.3. Keyboard shortcuts, as you have already found, are your friend. Worth mentioning that there is a bug that is causing the Arm Spoilers key command to not show up in the list - They working on it.4. Pass. Ask me another! ;) Not sure about this. Time for someone far wiser in the ways of these things than i am to jump in.CheersPaul
  9. Hi Bill:Many thanks for that. Wasn't looking forward to scouring the DVD's for those lol.Much appreciated.RegardsPaul
  10. Right then, i think we are going around in circles here.To get to the bottom of this we are going to have to start at the top...Can you tell us 1. Engine Type2. your EXACT flow from starting FS (9 or X by the way?) to getting the adible alertAttached is a BA Virtual checklist that i have just written based on real world ops for another RB211 operator version. Let me know if that helps any. - Note that in the PUSH / START sequence, it states that Hyd Demand Pump 1____________________AUTOThat should read Hyd Demand Pump 1 to 3________________AUTOEngine start procedure is 4+3, 2+1.CheersPaul
  11. Hi Drew:Thanks for the reply. The post at tiny earl is FS9 related, what would the procedure be for FSX? Similar / Same file names?CheersPaul
  12. Hello Michael:Firstly, congratulations on a great product. Another benchmark for the FS world, and finally something i can fly online in FSX!Thanks for the response. I thought as much, not really an issue as such, just thought i would ask :)CheersPaul
  13. A slightly better picture (hopefully)"http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/8947/fs92008oct15059hq2.jpg"CheersPaul
  14. Hi Guys:Not a biggy. The FSX Water Vapour madness appears to have returned. It was raining departing EGKK, seems the ground water stayed with me.No biggy, cunning repositioning of the camera for screenies gets around it, just thought you might want to know.In the picture above its hardly visible, but the darker 'cloud' below the aircraft.CheersPaul
  15. Czarek:In regards your second issue, it is probably a keyboard command that you need. Have a look in the PMDG keyboard commands menu.CheersPaul
  16. Rob;I do beleive you may have just nailed it for him!Having re-read his original post, the audio alert (not necessarily the EICAS warning) and the master caution is what is causing him to abort the start. CheersPaul
  17. In the real world or in the sim? ;)Looks like its just a bit confused about the control positions, a quick shake of the stick would probably sort things out. While it could well be a problem with the MD, if you are trying to keep it as real as it gets, put it down to an aircraft sensor problem. I dont think there are many pilots that have a flight where absolutely nothing goes wrong for months, be it a pack failure, electrics, flight deck door wont lock etc. Theres an MEL for a reason ;)CheersPaul
  18. Hi Guys:Thought that i would chime in. While not the most atttractive attribute of the PMDG MD11, as a performance optimisation, i can certainly live with it.Ryan - Whatever you do please, please, please dont let the 'fix' be a performance modifier in any way ;-)This is the first 'heavy' that i have been able to run in FSX to a level that i am happy to go online with her, and i am loving it. CheersPaul
  19. Okay:Firstly, you have the APU Avail, but not generating. That will stress the bleed air system, as for the first start, there will be little, if any, air available to get those big old blades moving. Try it again with Ground Power on and the APU Gen1 and Gen2 on. Having said that, you do have the APU bleed on, but i think that the lack of electrical power is going to be an issue.Unless you are somewhere really hot (in which case your cooling should be on OVRD (although i see on your EICAS that its only 15*) you can afford to turn off all the packs for the start, again, its all about the Duct Pressure.Aside from that, i see nothing wrong with the rest of the config. As suggested in the post above, stick up a screenie of your ECS page on the upper Eicas.CheersPaul
  20. Hi Guys:Having succesfully completed my check ride to Zurich and back, i am going to take the MD11 out for a spin transatlantic tomorrow. Probably an EGKK/KJFK run.Im not new to online flight and transatlantic hops, its the MD11 that i want the tips for ;)CheersPaulPS - Love the Flight Crew! - now how do i get my face on 'em? ;)
  21. Hi there:Post up a screenie of your overhead panel and EICAS at this stage and we should be able to tell you with ease.CheersPaulPS - BAW Standard ops are (i beleive) 4,3,2,1 - you could try it that way, but same time, no reason that the PMDG method shouldnt work to my knowledge.... ;)
  22. Hi Matt:The issue at the moment is that boeing are refusing to issue the performance data for PMDG to release. Without that (or a couple of weeks of test flights) it is going to be nigh on impossible. That said, i am told that the MD11 currently avaialable in FSBuild is very good, although the fuel calcs are best left to the FMC...CheersPaul
  23. Hi GuysI was just wondering if it is possible to get the Load Manager to talk to FS over the network using SimConnect, and if so, how?The reason i ask, is that i run VC on monitor 1, Overhead, FMC and Radio stack on monitor 2.Jumping in and out of full screen is a real pain in the butt in this situation, so if the LM can run on the laptop with Squawkbox, ASX etc, that would be quite handy....CheersPaul
  24. Hi Jon:I have FSX SP1 and Accelleration installed (so essentially SP2 with some add-ons) and all is well here. You should be okay.CheersPaul
  25. Dmitriy:A fair statement, but in relation to the question that you have asked, a purely subjective response is all that can be given. The fact of the matter is that yes, what works well on my system, might well not work at all on yours. Hence i cannot say to you with 100% certainty that the MD11 will run on your machine. However, having read the majority of the posts relating to the MD11 over the past weeks, and having had detailed conversations with a couple of the beta testers (who i will admit to being a little biased) about whether or not it was going to be worth me getting the FSX or FS9 version, the general concencus is that the MD11 runs better on the whole than the 744. While i appreciate that that is not even a slightly technical approach, without being able to test it on your system, i cannot tell you whether or not it will run like a prize stallion, or a donkey! You have a valid point about being able to test the aircraft in a demo mode, but given the massive increase in software piracy, i wouldnt blame any developer for refusing to do so.Cheers :)Paul
