  1. Many thanks for that, it's great to see someone taking the trouble and showing the procedure so clearly :Star: Have a great 2017
  2. Hi Zoran Yes, I uninstalled using the PMDG procedure specified which clears everything and my reinstalls were all using latest installers. The only addons I tried on FSX SE which worked well were Quality Wings Ultimate 146 and EZDOC. Having tried twice to make it work I am confident there are real problems with addons on FSX SE and I will be leaving this for some time to see how it all works out. STEAM really needs to start a serious conversation with Software developers if this worthwhile development is to have future. The FSX community, and there are many of us, would love to see some development of FSX.
  3. Not working for me with latest version downloaded 30 Jan. Completely dark cockpit, throttles maxed, yoke stuck on full left aileron, no landing gear, unable to use any of the controls, etc... Installations were; FSX installed FSX SE added to above FSX and FSX SE plus STEAM uninstalled STEAM reinstalled plus FSX SE FSX SE definately seems to run better, smoother, but I am having so much trouble with all of my addons I have decided to uninstall the lot and go back to FSX Gold Edition
  4. Not sure if this helps. I use Saitek X52PRO for all my flying and I don't have a registered FSUIPC. I have not had a problem with PMDG 777 or any other Sim. and I only use the calibration settings within FSX to set them up. Might be worth forgetting FSUIPC and give this a try.
  5. Many thanks for providing a link, I am still waiting for FSPS to provide a link- they are always so slooooow.
  6. Buy EZDOK, it is worth every penny, you can easily set up any view you like. I can't imagine flying without it now and it adds a whole new dimension to the sim experience. I tried using FSX but couldn't get get anything satisfactory.
  7. Have you tried the tutorial flight, it has very specific instructions and explanations ?.
  8. No need to set Nav2 but you should set Nav1 in both pilot and copilot.I don't know if it is important but I engage both CMD switches after vor/loc and before APP. Works every time for me.Haven't tried Melbourne yet but Sydney and Brisbane worked fine.
  9. You are not wrong about challenging. Many thanks for the info, that explains a number of difficulties I have been having.Pat :(
  10. FSX shows course for R26 at LOWI as 255, BUT all other FSX navigation tools ( such as FS Commander) I have looked at show correct course as 259. This seems to lead to landing at an angle on the runway.Anyone any ideas on a fix ? :(
  11. I recently bought a new system with HD4800I am new to FSX but used to FS2OO4I am very happy with the performance and run at 22-24 fps with settings at : Anisotropic filtering, Anti-aliasing, Global texture-High, Scenery complexity-dense, Autogen density-dense, weather- medium high. There are still some blurries when turning fast but I haven' finished playing with settings. An excellent site I came across for tweaks is http://www.highflightsimulations.com/fsxcfg.htmlFS2004 runs flat out.Hope this is helpful to those puzzling over what to buy.Intel Core Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.66 GHzRAM 4 GBATI Radeon HD 4800 512mbVista Home PremiumSamsung 24in monitor 1920*1200FSX Acceleration
