  1. Looks stunning! And what a coincidence, I've got a QW 757 in AA livery at KBOS screenshot-post lined up as well!
  2. This look so real, love it ! The one effect missing from FS: tire smoke on take-off! Maybe another challenge for Ed? :(
  3. Motion Blur Tool in Photoshop. :(
  4. No further comment, just enjoy!Regards,Hugo
  5. I have the Zotac AMP! running effortlessly, and stable in FSX via MSI Afterburner:Core Clock: 850 MhzShader Clock: 1700 MhzMemory Clock: 2106 MhzCore Voltage is 1.125 VAt this settings, in the most demanding situation in FSX, the card doesn't run hotter than 60 degrees Celcius.Hugo
  6. It's Cinebench 11.5.This supposedly is a Core I7 2600K cpu. The top model. "K" for unlocked multiplier. The cooler was the same as the stock Intel I7 980X cooler. An I5 2500K "unlocked" Sandy Bridge processor is also on its way, in the $200 - $250 price range.Source (Dutch): http://nl.hardware.info/nieuws/20713/intel-sandy-bridge-opgevoerd-tot-49-ghz
  7. Looks like a major cpu performance increase is upon us:http://wccftech.com/2010/09/16/intel-sandy-bridge/&http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKGnaTrxS_kAnd not at a $1000,- price tag.
  8. Hi Martin,I just ordered a new pc for FSX myself, after A LOT of reading and research.I don't know how familiar you are with building your own system, and more importantly overclocking, but it really is worth the effort. The rig I ordered, and why I ordered it:CPU: Intel i7 950 -> the price of this 3.06 Ghz cpu just recently dropped by almost 50%. A fast chip by itself (intel's top-of-the-line €1000,- 980X is 3.33 Ghz), it now is great value for money. Particularly if you are planning to overclock it. GPU: ZOTAC 480GTX AMP! -> The 480GTX, the best card for FSX + the AMP! edition which enables me to overclock the card.MEM: OCZ Platinum XTC 6GB DDR3-1600 CL6 -> tripple channel, 6GB with low latency. Why? Read NickN's post here: http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic29041.htmlunder ABOUT ADDING MEMORY TO A SYSTEM and SAMPLES OF MEMORY SPEED/TIMINGCPU-cooler: Noctua NH D14 Perhaps the best cpu-cooler on air availableCase: Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Widely regarded as best value for money, lots of features, great cooling possibilities, just Google it.Power supply: Seasonic M12D-850 The thing came out great in a couple of reviews. And has plenty of power (850W). Motherboard: Asus P6X58D-E Socket 1366 and Intel X58 chipset to support the core i7 cpu, SATA 600 for future SSD's 2x USB 3.0 and, again, a great overclocker.I already own a WD raptor @ 10.000 rpm and a Samsung SyncMaster 2253LW, so I don't need a HDD or a monitor. The big idea behind my purchase is, as I said before, overclocking. I spent about €1500,- on this system, and I expect (with a little luck)to reach 4.2, perhaps 4.4 Ghz.Combined with an overclocked GPU and the BP=0 tweak I expect to run FSX really well. FS9 will run like a dream on the Dell system you posted, I strongly believe. But to be able to run FSX with all the bells and whistles, you really need to build your own system, and overclock.Hope this helps,Regards,Hugo - The Netherlands
  9. Again:Full,DX11TessellationMulitcoreSLI-support
  10. Payware: FSBuild: http://www.fsbuild.com/ or FlightSim Commander: http://www.fscommander.com/Freeware: http://www.flightsimaviation.com/_flight_planner.html
  11. If Flight is in Alpha test already, it makes me wonder whether MS is going to implement the new good stuf like multithreading, DX11, SLI and tessellation at all..
  12. DX11, Tessellation, Multicore (6+)& SLI support is all I hope for.
  13. Let's call it by its name: Flight. But it will probably end up as fs11. Or even MSF.
  14. Great news, and kind of what I expected FLIGHT to be.
  15. I totally agree with "Thriller": An arcade flight game doesn't make sense (unless you can shoot and kill). It gets boring after a short while. It's too simple, we are not talking arcade game halls here. These MS games are often 10GB+.And if it were only missions, achievements a career mode etc, something like a MS Missions add-on could've done the trick. And there wouldn't be the need for MS to develop, and invest in, a complete new game/sim.MS Game Studios develop major titles like Age of Empire, Gears of War, Halo, Fable etc. I don't think they (with their resoures and costumer base) are going to make an arcadish flight game like Pilotwings 2.0. You just can't make it interesting or big enough with flying from A to B or rescuing a skier. They've done that in FSX already. It'll be good. I wishfully think.Hugo
  16. That's exactly what I thought, the second I saw that Stearman appear in the clip.On a positive note: The "Microsoft Flight will bring a new perspective to the long-standing genre, welcoming everyone, including long-time fans" and the "Twenty-eight years after the debut of “Microsoft Flight Simulator1.0" mentioning in the press release, makes me believe it is going to be a next FS we all hope for. Only with more arcade-like missions, achievements, career-mode ("when I was a child.."), etc added to it, to make it more attractive to a broader public. Besides that, the globe, visible in the letters FLIGHT, gives me an impression this game/sim will feature the complete earth. And not just a nondescript Island or something.I'm aware that these are pure speculations, or educated guesses at best. But I for one am exited.Hugo
  17. Well, it seems like one major developer, Aerosoft, is not on a NDA:http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=37244Mathijs Kok's third post from top, page 1.The fact that Paul (PC-12) FLIGHT SIM Blog is "dusting of the cobwebs" because he "might actually need to do something with this blog in the future. :( " gives me good hope that we'll actually see a new FS we can get exited about.Hugo
  18. An entire country in exquisite detail (airports, photoscenery, 3d objects, ai-traffic etc.), for free!Get it here:http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/
