  1. That's pretty nifty Alan...did you do that livery yourself too?Mark
  2. Thanks for the response...I do have version 2...darn! Well, I can only hope that someone see's this who's fixed those elevation issues. Thanks again...Mark
  3. This may have been hashed over in the group about 100 times already so forgive me if I'm beating a dead horse. I was hoping someone might have come up with a solution to the bleeding ground textures at FlyTampa's KSAN when used with MegaScenery Southern California. I've tried all of the fixes, (as described), by the FlyTampa forms but to no avail. The textures still bleed through. So if anyone does have a solution, please feel free to speak your mind. If not, then thanks for taking the time to read this!Mark
  4. Shez, you must get slammed by all the people that want you create your wonderful scenery for a particular airport...but...the first thing that popped into my head when I read you're pondering Detriot was KLGB II or 2, and also :) But anything from you would be nice...Dillon's request could be construed as something many of us have been wanting for awhile now :)Mark
  5. Hey Carob, does that mean that you found duplicate textures somewhere else? I think, (but Opa will correct me if I'm off base), that this is simply a priority issue and nothing more. So let's see if I can explain this a bit more....This is the layout as requested by Gary's readme file...Addon Scenery\Scenery Addon Scenery\TextureAddon Scenery\SLC\SceneryAddon Scenery\SLC\Texture The Addon "Addon Scenery\SLC" folder needs to be added to the scenery.cfg file...either by hand or by using the scenery manager in FS9. Did you do that and if so, what priority did you give the "Addon Scenery\SLC" folder?Try this, (or at least make sure of it), that the "Addon Scenery\SLC" displays at the top of the list in FS9's scenery manager. (That would be priority 1 in the display or the very last entry in the scenery.cfg file. Also, make sure it doesn't appear more then once in the entire list. Tell me what you find...Mark
  6. Are you going to do one Shez? That would be a real coup for everyone...Mark
  7. Thanks for the responses everyone! I've been busy checking out all of the "twins"...looks like I might have to have triplets myself. I'm still reading but that Howard 500, (even though it wasn't in the genre I was looking for), is really cool.Oh, this question is for the Eaglesoft group...what's up with that DVD player on the console of your Comanche? Does it have any functionality...because that would surely be inventive. (I really love my SR-22G3 by the way :)Mark
  8. Make sure both the textures named ramp.bmp and ramp2.bmp are in the following folder...Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\slc\texture. Next do a name seach of your Flight Simulator 9 sceneries for both the ramp.bmp and ramp2.bmp textures. There is apparently something taking priority over the 2 files in the SLC texture folder. When, (and if), you find other textures with the same name. Temporarily rename them to something else like ramp.bmp.Original or ramp2.bmp.Original and see if that helps. Make sure that if you do rename something to take note of where it is so you can rename it back later :)Mark
  9. Is there any general consensus as to the best GA twin prop on the market these days. I don't care if it's freeware or payware. It just needs to have a 2d panel and a VC. Let me know your thoughts and thanks!Mark
  10. Really, all joking aside, it would be nice to know that the FPS we're seeing displayed on the screen makes sense. If ACES decided to call our total computer load the axiom FPS...and yet, it is the actually the amount of processor time, the disk seek time, the screen refresh rate, and a slurry of other factors all combined into one, then that would be nice to know how to interpret it. I can write a piece of software that will tell you that it's going to be sunny when it's actually going to rain so what are we really looking at when we see that display of FPS dipping into the low 12's :)Mark
  11. Gosh, how much better can you get from the last version...artists, gotta dig em!!!Mark
  12. What would be nice to know is how the ACES team is actually calculating FPS. Sometimes thing are subjective and what FPS is to one might not be to another. There maybe more here then meets the eye? (major Pun if it wasn't gotten :)A call to ACES...how are FPS calculated in FS9..y=f(x)Mark
  13. I came across some freeware from PTSim, (http://www.ptsim.com/), and was wondering which of you simmers has it installed. I own FS-Global and was wondering if it is compatible. What I'm really after is it's landclass but not it's elevation if possible. Well, if anyone knows anything about this freeware package, please let the group know, (and me too)!Mark
  14. Ah, interesting observation Alex. You know, I showed your setup to my wife and Seev's too. Her conclusion...we're all bonkers. I think it's all pretty cool personally :)Mark
  15. Mr Reid, you're going to have to explain yourself a bit more on this one. It sounds interesting, but I've working for many of the major studios in L.A. over the years, I've found that FPS is pretty important too? Go for it...I think you've got something up your sleeve :)One more thing, because I am fan of guys like Seev, Shez, and Opa...I didn't log in to post a reply over Opa's respect for Seev. I just saw you're layout...that really is nice Alex...Mark
  16. Oops...I ment Traffic_xxx.bgls!!! Sorry about that. I've had DLLs on the brain lately because of some of the software I've been writing. Duh...Mark
  17. I'm a big fan of Seev...the work he's done is pretty incredible. Hey, I've seen your name mentioned a bunch of places to Mr. Opa!Mark
  18. k...That's what I was looking for. Just wanted to verify that it was the dream team's issue. I feel for those guys, so many people have hijacked their cool software that they might be stuck in the mode of protectionism. Coupled with the terrible hack of AVSIM, in a way, I don't blame them. Anyway, FSDT might want to re-think their current policy. If I wanted to crack software I could, but I don't.Mark
  19. Wow, that's really old school and very cool. I remember when all of the flat panels came out and got my first one. For the longest time I wanted to use my Viewsonic 20, (that weighed 60 pounds), because of the smoothness and blending of the contours. I still don't think that any flat panels can capture the gradient smoothing of a CRT, although, they don't cause any cancer that we know of yet.I think that Master Seev would appreciate your system as he looks down from above...http://seev.rwy12.com/mycockpit.html. Oh, the thing holding me back is my wife Linda. She says I spend way to much time flying and not enough time taking her out dinner and to see chick flicks :)Mark
  20. Thanks steelhead, (and belga1), and everyone! A really nice guy read my post and emailed me the libraries...Thanks Opa :)Mark
  21. These are the settings I'm using with my Radeon 4870 and it's is crystal clear. Make sure you don't have Anti-Aliasing enabled in the FS9 Display Options dialog. Also, I'm using verison 8-10_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_69561.Catalyst Control Center Settings...---------------------------------------------------SMOOTHVISION HD:Anti-AliasingUse application Settings: Not CheckedLevel: 16xFilter: BoxSMOOTHVISION HD:Anisotropic FilteringUse application Settings: Not CheckedPer-pixel samples: 16xCatalyst
  22. Can anyone, (who is having issues accessing the FSDT site), ping it or run a tracert to it? I've got it's IP address listed as 212.35.204.36. That way you can see what your ISPs DNS servers are looking at. Here in Sydney, I can ping the Dream Team's site but I cannot run a tracert to it. I can, however, access their web site.Mark
  23. Some of the people who visit this site know the terrain.dll issues really well, I don't. But I had a couple of issues the other day that may absolutely have nothing to do with what is going on with your system, though, you can give it a try if you like. If not, then it might serve you down the road. From the advice of this board, I found that I had a landclass scenery with an empty "texture" folder in it. I also installed a couple of freeware sceneries a while back that had their own Traffic_xxx.dlls. I got side tracked and forgot to install the aircraft that were referenced in the traffic dlls. The next time I took a flight, my ESDG SR22-G3 loaded with the propeller looking like a smoked mirror and half of the default MS AI traffic didn't have any textures loaded, they were plain grey. So maybe, remove any landclass texture folders that are empty. You could also rename your traffic dlls to traffic_xxx.Original and see if you still get a CTD. I realize I might be reaching but it's something that you can try until one of the people who really know the terrain.dll issues chime in :)Oh, the folder location for traffic bgls is usually..Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\World\SceneryMark
  24. Ahhh, 3 monitors...lucky you. I haven't indulged myself as of yet. Is it true that you have to run in the virtual cockpit when you run 3? I've got an issue though. I really like the 2d panel, it's feels more like full emersion in the sim. Ironically, the 2d cockpit is probably one of the most unreal features. What hardware are you running to split the signal...Matrox?Mark
  25. Ah, very interesting...Thank you. I'm assuming that if you collect all of your waypoints into one large xml file, you would then have only one additional bgl. By the way, you did mention that there maybe some software on the horizon...any more clues you'd like to leave the group with :)Mark
