  1. Also, make sure gear is up. :) Stacey Weaver
  2. Be careful. Not having the FSUIPC option on the menu after installing the NGX is related to where PMDG loads their HUD DLL. It's incorrectly at the start of the DLL.XML file. Stacey Weaver
  3. As a follow-up, the lines in red (which load the PMDG HUD interface DLL) must not be at the start of your DLL.XML or non of the other modules will load. All entries for loading DLL modules must be after the following lines: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"><Descr>Launch</Descr><Filename>dll.xml</Filename><Disabled>False</Disabled><Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> The PMDG installer appears to have a problem here. Stacey Weaver
  4. I posted about this the other day. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/341937-install-problem-dllxml/page__fromsearch__1 Stacey Weaver
  5. Doesn't look like it to me. Stacey Weaver
  6. Sitting on tarmac at JFK with heavy AI traffic in the VC: NGX : 10 - 16747-400: 12 - 17MD11 : 13 - 17JS41: 15 - 18 I'm not seeing much difference between the 747, MD11, and NGX. I have noticed that the FPS value with the NGX loaded does seem to bounce around more than with the others. 7. After installing the NGX, I started FSX and noticed that most of my add-on modules (e.g., FSUIPC, FS_Earth, FSCaptain, etc.) were not loaded. I checked the DLL.XML file and found that the lines that load the "PMDG HUD interface" DLL were inserted at the very top of my DLL.XML file as follows: <Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG HUD interface</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDG_HUD_interface.dll</Path> <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName> <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName> </Launch.Addon><?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>AFXModule</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>e:\Program Files (x86)\AFX\AFXModuleFSX.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> I moved this text inside block with the other add-ons to fix it: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad><Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG HUD interface</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDG_HUD_interface.dll</Path> <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName> <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>AFXModule</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>e:\Program Files (x86)\AFX\AFXModuleFSX.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> Stacey Weaver
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Freighter would still have the same flight model, systems, avionics, etc as the PAX variant. The visual model and payload configuration, I think, would be the only difference. This might be a factor in the OP's questions. Stacey Weaver

  10. Oh darn...that was a short-lived Hall-of-shame!! :Worried:Stacey Weaver
  11. I've often thought it would be humorous to create a Hall-of-shame where names of the frequent complainers and gripers could be on full display. I won't do it since it's not in very good taste, but it would probably make some folks think twice before spewing their crap. Stacey Weaver
  12. Thanks for your efforts here 737Guy. I hope you'll reconsider your "taking a break". The silent majority here of polite and respectful users appreciates all of your input. This is an open forum and, fortunately and unfortunately, it's open to everyone regardless of age, maturity level, and/or IQ. Please don't let a few bad apples spoil it for everyone! Same goes for PMDG. Stacey Weaver
  13. Ha! Good one Andy! I love getting out and walking trails in the Summer here in Indiana, US as well. Good luck with your adventure! :biggrin:Stacey Weaver
  14. Why PMDG doesn't just ban some of you is a mystery to me! Accusing Ryan of being on his period!? The irony is just amazing....for many of you your posts seem to suggest that very thing! :) PMDG owes you nothing! I wish more reasonable people would take a stand against this. I know you're out there! As people like to note, this is a public forum and, within the applicable rules, you are free to express your opinions. I don't think many of the comments directed towards PMDG are fair and/or appropriate and I, for one, am not afraid to say so.Stacey Weaver
  15. I agree 100% with Jose! Perhaps if PMDG took some time off, some of the gripers, with no reason to come here, would re-discover other parts of their lives as well and then everyone could regain proper perspective. I'm not sure I'm at the level of Jose when it comes to passion for the NGX, but I'm certainly up there someplace. It's the "get-it-now" mentality that's on full display here. No one "needs" this add-on or FSX. It's a want and we'll enjoy it when it's available.PMDG, you don't owe anyone anything. Take as long as you need without killing yourselves! Regardless of what some spew, they'll be right in line with everyone else to buy their copy when it's released. Stacey Weaver
  16. Greetings fellow simmers! I'm wondering if anyone knows of an aircraft tweak that would result in slightly less angle of attack at cruise. I have a couple of non-PMDG FSX aircraft that, IMO, cruise with excessive AoA (5 to 10 degrees). Before you start, I'm very well aware of how weight, altitude, temperature, and CG factor in. For now, please just assume that those items are all within operational limits. I have a lot of add-ons and it's only this one family of aircraft that I have this problem with. I'm guessing that a tweak which results in a little more lift from the wings might do the trick. If anyone has any ideas, I'll experiment a bit and see what happens.I appreciate any suggestion! Thanks,Stacey Weaver
  17. Ok Joe, since you singled me out, I guess I can address you directly. In case you hadn't noticed, people are already "wound up". There's quite a bit of opinions flying around here Joe. I'm just weighing in with my 2 cents. BTW, what do you think will help the situation? While I'm touched at your concern for my health, I can assure you there's nothing to worry about in this area. I was actually quite calm when I made the above statements.Sorry if it's your toes I stepped on, I do have big feet! ;)Stacey Weaver
  18. Ok, ok, ok...now I hope that "I don't step on anyone's toes", but I'm sorry, you all need to get a life!! Some of you act like your livelihood is somehow tied to when this flight sim add-on is released. Seriously people, there is so much more to life than this. Yes, I'll be the first to admit that I'm looking forward to this, but hounding PMDG constantly is childish and quite rude. I don't mean to single you out AJ, I just used your post to respond to. Some of you just need to back away from your computer and go work on some relationships that you've been neglecting due to the amount of time you're fixating on PMDG. :Shocked:Mr. Stacey Weaver

  20. No problem. As you can imagine, this is pretty common thing for me. I just wanted to establish my true gender to ward off a flood of PMs from guys who spend way too much time staring at a computer screen. Stac-HE (Stacey) Weaver
  21. Hey Michal, while I can understand your confusion, I'm not sure how's that's relevant. Anyway, my wife just confirmed that I am in fact of the masculine persuasion. Stac-HE (Maybe this should be my new sig)
