  1. Nope, I did not. That's why I'm so perplexed by this.
  2. Hi all, I seem to recall Ryan or someone else saying that scheduled maintenance failures would stick after closing FSX and reopening it. I've skimmed the introduction document and found the part where it says "It is worth noting that in the PMDG 737NGX the current state of failures is always saved. If you have a particular failures mode saved, and various failures are already active or armed to become active, they will remain as such when you load the flight that was saved in that condition" (PMDG, 0.00.48). This is confusing to me, as I'm not sure if I have to save my panel state every time I want to have the maintenance timers carry over when I load up FSX, or if they are saving each time. Either way, whenever I reopen FSX and load up the NGX, maintenance timed failures are always disabled. Any help would be appreciated!
  3. Yes, that also happens to me, and it is exactly what the video posted a couple of posts back shows.
  4. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this on the PMDG FB page, but the picture banner of the NGX has changed from cruise to approach a while ago, and now is a picture of the NGX touching down. We're close.
  5. Hey PMDG Dev Team, great work so far. Can't wait to see it in its final form. Don't let these squabblers get to you. They are the most vocal and make us all look impatient, but the reality is that most of us are sitting patiently and share your goal of having the most complete and realistic add-on ever created when it is ready. You're often getting criticized by the whining crowd, so I wanted to put a positive spin on this thread before it got locked. :)
  6. This is a classic question from someone who genuinely wants to know what is involved in making an incredibly complex add-on, with that question directed right at the people who do it. Instead, everyone else chimes in with what they think the answer is. It's no wonder Ryan and the rest of the team sound like they are getting fed up with this forum.
  7. Anything Carenado. They make great aircraft, high quality textures, great sounds (and accurate I might add), feels like you're actually in the cockpit of the thing. Adds a completely different experience when coupled with something like ORBX scenery.
  8. Microsoft Security Essentials, which is lightweight in terms of resources but not light on protection. I use Forefront Endpoint Security, but that's just the corporate/enterprise version of what I just mentioned and works much better in my server environment at home. Norton has just become bloated software that eats resources.
  9. +1 I wouldn't mind this thread being locked to be honest.
  10. I think they've said many times that they'd much rather get us the final product, and I tend to agree with them. I know they're working very hard on it, so I'm patiently waiting for it to go beta and then see pics from the testers when PMDG give it the okay. :)
  11. This isn't happening, and I completely agree with the reasons for it not being implemented. There have been many posts about this, and no amount of waiting will make a WX radar better in FSX.
  12. To go along with this, if you do go the nvidia route, go with evga. They have a lifetime warranty, which is invaluable. If you decide to go down the ATI (AMD) route, go with XFX. They also have lifetime warranty. FWIW, I have the 6870 and FSX performance for me is stellar.
  13. I would guess (as with their other products) it uses the same package we download currently.
  14. +1...been waiting for a good implementation of the 777 from day 1 of using FSX.
  15. Partially true, but you get to use the product as you would normally use it. The best beta testing is the kind that tests the product as it's likely to be used by an end-user. The real frustration as a beta tester is when things don't work and you have to find a workaround. It isn't a treasure hunt for bugs as much as some might think, you sort of just stumble upon them.
  16. The middle of freaking nowhere. Tamanghasset, Algeria if the last position on the FMC is to be believed, which seems probable since the airport elevation is 4,518 ft.
  17. PMDG Staff, thank you for procuring the licensing for these manuals. I just got my FCTM and the quality is superb. It is informative (as the real thing should be) and I will study this thoroughly until the product is released. You guys ROCK.
  18. How can it be delayed when there wasn't a release date to begin with? :( Hey Ryan, I see you have the GTX 570, how's that card performing, particularly with regard to general FSX usage?
  19. I thought PMDG said that they would have the highest resolution external textures we'd seen yet on an FSX aircraft. Nevertheless, I voted for it because McPhat do great work.
  20. I completely agree with you. I knew all along that was your mission. I was just referring to people who will take the formerly present "Coming in 2010" tag that used to be on the product page a little too seriously and then complain that it isn't here yet when Jan. 1 hits. As for me, I'm completely content waiting until you say it's done. :(
  21. That's probably why they don't like to set a release schedule. I'm sure that whatever stage of development the project is at right now, they are dreading Jan. 1 on these forums if it isn't released the day before. I find the best way to stop going nuts waiting is to just fly their 747.
  22. With all the features being shown here, I almost want to see the list of things not being simulated. I can only imagine that that list is much smaller :(
