I have done my first flight in the 414 after a new install using v1.3. All went pretty good including an ILS approach and landing. Like recent comments I find ground handling to be rough and mostly only achieved by differential braking. Not at all smooth as reported by several YT content creators. Also with the ILS approach whilst the plane captured and followed the ILS in lateral and vertical descent, the LOC and GS announcitators on the G605 remained white (should they not turn green)

Hello Alex, and thank you for your reply. I tried the to options you suggested but I think it may be something else. I'm using 21.04 version which may have changed the way LNM is rendered. This orphan window I speak of appear as soon as LNM loads and stays on the screen in a fixed position until LNM is closed. Long time user of LNM in FSX, P3D, XP11 and now MSFS and trying to set up as a remote on a spare notebook running Linux (PopOS, KDE-plasma) After installing LNM loads ok but there is a small orphaned window that sits on top of and to the side of LNM that appears to be left from when LNM loads. I can move the LNM window around but the other (unlabelled) window remains on top of LNM. I did a fresh download and the same thing happens Love some help on this please (I did try to do a search for "Linux" as a keyword but nothing shows. No need to wait. I’ve flown it for two days and it’s just superb. In every detail. Textures 10/10, handling 10/10, systems- easy 9/10. Love it

Hi Michael, not sure you would not have seen this but a developer has come to our rescue with a tool called "MSFS Addons Linker" which in essence allows keeping addons in a root folder of your choice with any number of nested folders while the tool creates Symbolic links to the MFS Community folder. I am getting more and more pleasure while flying in MFS, especially with the aid of the community addons and fixes. I just hope that an official change is done to the simple structure of the community folder and the free for all way that addons are being named with no conventions. My list is now over 200 (paid and freeware) and it is becoming difficult to find what I have/don’t have and to keep track of versions.

After a long career in IT, I saw the practice repeated many times, especially from large corporations. they say it is to protect novices from messing up their systems. I saw it as those same companies protecting themselves. Smacks of “we are in the know, everyone else are plebs”. In support of this theory, observe that in the early days of computing (pre MS) people in the industry used to wear White coates, this helped give them an elite status.

Aircraft 1. DA40. When I have loaded this plane, none of the Autopilot buttons work on the G1000 MFD. Aircraft 2. VL-3 This is a great little plane, but for the life in me I can’t work out how to set the A/P. I see the Heading bug and ALT setting knob. But where do you turn on the A/P and select ALT HDG VS etc. If someone can help me I would be very happy. On the other hand on other planes the A/P are modelled quite well, especially the Bonanza G36, TBM930 and the X-Cub

Pondering on all the names this sim as taken on.... Microsoft Flight Simulator MSFS MSFS2020 MFS MFS2020 MFS20 FS2020 FS20 Have I missed any. It seems all simm’s go through this process. Hopeful that the time will come when we can settle on a standard. My preference would be MFS20 or just MFS. Next on the list would be FS20. Thinking outside the box, we used to call a predecessor - FSX which stood for FS version 10, extrapolating that we could have FSXX for version 20!

Today I notices this screen option in Settings: USE GENERIC PLANE MODELS (MULTIPLAYER) This may be the option to make planes show in the Maps

If I was game I would give it a try but a lot of time lost if it breaks the sim 😢

Hi Rick, do you know if it is possible to sectionalise the Community folder with main sub folders like US scenery, UK Scenery etc. first then place appropiate addons in the sub folders?

Just an observation Richard, if it is so hard how come the guys could put out so many Liveries in the Mega kit so soon, they were out in a day or two, or have they been Alpha/Beta testers that have been working on them for months?

Just a heads up. Instead of using Discord (which if perfectly fine, but voice only) I have been using Houseparty which is extremely easy to set up and you can all see each other. Facetime or Zoom would work.

Hi, I’m not sure this is covered elsewhere but after searching for a while I couldn’t find anything. Re: MSI Afterburner and Rivertuner, after playing in settinigs I have tried to get the stats to show on my screen but I can only get the system time to show, no FPS, CPU, GPU etc. Can some kind sole point me in the right direction please.

Couldn’t agree more. Orbx were early to latch onto this idea and it has worked well for years. It should be the industry standard for addon.

Yeh, I’m thinking the same. Two things will happen 1. I’ll end up with a lot of spare space on my maiin sim 1Tb SSD + 250Gb spare SSD 2. I’ll do a lot more flying! 😁

Good question, that might be a bit harder. I would guess that at best a generic “look alike” may be substitued.

Screenshots from our second flight from Queenstown (NZQN) to Milford Sound (NZMF) One great feature we didn’t notice until our second flight is that when you are up close you can see the control surfaces of the other person’s plane deflecting and when their lights come on etc. Also the person hosting the group flight (as we were in our own group) has control over the Weather which if changed (after a small lag) changes the other pilots weather as well. Just amazing detail. Love it.

I found that if I tried to do that, even though it was a different camera I got a message that the control was already mapped to a different setting. But maybe you can just ignore the warning
