MCE creates P3D V5.4 to stutter
FS++ replied to Tristen Echols's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
If it's only happening when you launch MCE and reverts back to normal after that, it shouldn't be a concern. Windows will be launching "mce.exe" which in turn launches "spalsh.exe" while MCE is loading. But once the UI is up and running, there should be hardly any impact on simulator performance as the app runs as an external process. Having said that, we haven't yet tested it against V5.4 (only V5.3 so far), therefore very open to any report that will eventually require adjustment to fsInsider64.dll (that runs inside P3D process). Here are a few things that occasionally break between patches or major P3D versions. When you speak a command, is it displayed inside the sim in red font as usual or is this not happening? If using native ATC and assuming there are a few options in ATC window, ask co-pilot "confirm ATC options" and a voice should spell out the content of the window. If it's not the case, then some work will need to be done to adapt it to V5.4 If using GSX and the catering trucks arrive, folllowed by a prompt (green bar GSX text) to open/close service doors, is MCE handling them automatically? Would appreciate others chime in. Maybe it's time to have a closer look at it. Just that the workload with MSFS is now so huge that it's getting harder to keep a tab on all supported sims. And yes, we will keep supporting Prepar3D, including V6. We just added support for iFly 737 MAX a few months ago. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. -
Just to let everyone know, we will be supporting the new sim. You just start either 2020 or 2024 and MCE will connect to whichever flight sim is running. No re-purchase necessary.

Just Flight Announcement - A300B4 FOR MSFS IN-DEVELOPMENT
FS++ replied to brinx's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
A plane named "Simcheck A300B4" (with flight engineer panel) has been around in FSX (Maybe even P3D V3) for years. Could be the one that is making the jump to MSFS with JF acting as the publisher. At least, I hope it is. -
WT 787 with MCE
FS++ replied to threexgreen's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
Asobo ATR full support nearly there. Next should be WT 787 -
Would appreciate someone other than Ralf with a non-English Windows installation have a go at the most recent Demo and confirm whether there is any issue. Thanks

Custom flows are stored under \My documents\Multi Crew Experience\ folder. They are never removed after un-installing MCE. Nor is any flow with the same name overwritten after re-installing MCE. Once a flow is in place (even a pre-made one), MCE always assumes the user modified it and won't be replaced with a default one. Voxkey custom commands are under \My Documents\Voxkey\ folder. Only a hard drive failure or accidental deletion from \My documents\ folder would get them lost. May need a backup to external drive. Restore to default settings won't affect the flows at all. It resets the following. Speech pace, volume and picth to default in case they are messed up Restores default features and options that work for most scenarios. Restores ATC mode to default MS built-in ATC Restores default voices. Removes joysticks assignments. Removes headset assignment. Having said that, you can avoid that by manually adding the newly available call-outs options. Go to MCE installation folder and open "mce.bkp" using Notepad only. That's the default file used to restore to factory settings. Copy the entire [CALLOUTS] section and paste it to your live "mce.ini" in C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Multi Crew Experience\ folder. With regards Fenix... I suggest you calibrate your hardware throttle if you have such device. At least, ensure on takeoff that the throttles in VC are above CLB detent. Eventually, ask Fo "set toga thrust". Report in case you're still not getting Vspeed callouts. Not sure which version the Fenix is on. Was there a recent release?
-
Reset MCE to factory settings so you can get a "mce.ini" that is aware of conditional call-outs (they are enabled by default). There is now a new panel where you can select which ones you need. What you reported may not necessaruly be caused by the changes to call-out system. It can happen when for some reason FO cannot work out the flight phase automatically. Particularly when trying to read power lever position. For instance V1, VR, V2 will only happens when he knows for sure you're taking off, irrespective of settings in callouts panel. The "minimums" callout instead of "positive rate" also hints at that. Eventually, push the power levers full forward and you may hear them. Which plane is this happening with?

Prepar3d V5 Can't launch MCE
FS++ replied to YPAD's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
Welcome aboard. For P3D to load fsInsider64.dll the "dll.xml" file needs to have a reference to the file. Go to C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D V5\ Open "dll.xml" using Notepad only. Check that you have these lines (they're expected to be added by the app wizard (setup program) automatically. Sometimes may not happen. <Launch.Addon> <Name>Multi Crew Experience</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>fsInsider64.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> If you installed P3D V5 AFTER installing MCE, just re-run the wizard, without going through speech training. Otherwise, manually add those lines right before the last line showing "</SimBase.Document>" Once the dll gets loaded, MCE will be able to communicate with the sim. Also ensure you have a <MCE dlls> folder in \Prepar3D v5\ installation folder, with about 40+ dlls, one for each supported complex plane. -
Any hope for ATR support ?
FS++ replied to AndyCYXU's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
Just to let you know, MSFS edition is now on same version as Ultimate (V3.0.3.9) and includes Asobo ATR and JF Bae 146 integration to a decent level. GSX pro integration is on as well. Download using whatever link you were given via e-,mail or from Simmarket account. -

xpak mce V 3.0.3.8 msfs2020
FS++ replied to Burge's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
Ah OK, this will need to be addressed by generating a new file and re-uploading new package. Incidentally, it's one of the reasons sometimes the Demo goes offline. A simple thing like that can ruin it and needs to be pulled until a file is replaced. In the past, it was 2 other files that were occasionally flagged. Since then AVs seem to be familiar with those and now this :-(( Bloody hell! -
xpak mce V 3.0.3.8 msfs2020
FS++ replied to Burge's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
These days, some AV programs, particularly the free ones take pleasure in flagging any file that is protected against reverse engineering (they cannot analyze it) as potential malware, even though the files are digitally signed. They try to impress you with false positives because if they keep quiet for a long time, their suitability is in doubt. We do care about the likes of Microsoft, Norton, AVG and a few other serious AV packages and these usually don't complain. But it's impossible to satisfy all of them. There are at least 70 of them out there. Just curious, which AV was it? -
xpak mce V 3.0.3.8 msfs2020
FS++ replied to Burge's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
Only possible explanaton for this, your anti-virus is "eating" files in |Multi Crew Experience\ installation folder which causes the installer to kick-in trying to restore the missing files. Tell your AV to trust files in that folder and go to the Vault to restore those it quarantined. Which AV are you using? . -
You cannot script commands related to dialing stuff like "set speed 250". Only exceptions.. "Bug up" which sets a specific speed in MCP "set speed v two" "set Flaps XX" (flaps detents can be scripted)

FS++ replied to Burge's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
This sort of issue happened to you some time ago as found in other thread. It could be a C drive corruption, or it's trying to install an older package. Go to Windows Explorer, right-click C drive and select "properties". Select "Tools" tab and run a disl check. Go to your "Downloads " folder and delete all previously downloaded MCE packages. Re-download latest version: http://www.multicrewxp.com/Downloads.html Do NOT select "Open" when clicking the download link. First select "Save" and wait until the whole file has downloaded. Double click downloaed file and it should start self extraction. When it's done, just run "InstallMCE". -

FS++ replied to npj's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
It may have to do with changes that were made a few months ago. I suggest... Un-install MCE via Windows Control Panel Do not delete anything manually. Download the very latest Demo: http://www.multicrewxp.com/Downloads.html Extract and run "InstallMCE". Report back regarding the issue with controlling FMC-CDU items via voice. -
MCE V 3.0.3.5 MSFS2020
FS++ replied to Burge's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
As Starter pointed out and I will add, the correct procedure for update is... Un-install MCE via Windows Control panel. DO NOT delete anything manually. Your activation file and installed additional voice packs remain in place as teu aren't part of the main package. Simply download, extract and run "InstallMCE" to default path. Should be all you need to do. -

Will be looked at. You never know with th Flybywire. They change their Lvars on a whim. For instance the IRS knobs Lvars have changed at least 5 times since it was first released. A nightmare to keep up with. One time it works, two months later it doesn't and you have to re-adjust MCE to it. SPAD not required.
